Lunch at Cafe Murano was everything we expected it to be. We opted for shared anitpasti which was really good and we each had a small pasta dish to follow plus some Dolci...All very lovely and well presented. For a business lunch it couldn't have been better and the staff choice of the lower priced Puliasi red was wonderful and great value.
We had a lovely family lunch last Saturday. Food and service were excellent. Thanks to the super friendly staff and chefs.
We love Cafe Murano
Amazing food great value and very good staff. Will definitely return .
A fabulous inviting Bistro style restaurant. We dinned at the bar with the pre theatre menu. The black squid and polenta was amazing. The rice dish not so exciting. A vast wine list! We would revisit in a heartbeat!
I have had lunch several times at the St James Restaurant and it has always been a very nice experience. Monday and Tuesdays are less hectic at lunchtimes so these are the days I prefer. On my last visit, we had the grilled place for two people at £56, we were told that it was about 1kg in weight.Sadly we were disappointed whilst the fish was delicious it really could not have been more than 750gn, to begin with. I will, however, return!
Outstanding food and service.
Excellent food, fish cooked to perfection(always difficult). Rocket and parmesan glad very good indeed. Wine list very reasonably priced for Mayfair.
It used to be one of my favourite but the service went really down and the food is now quite average .
Wonderful food ambience and service. A solid choice for St James area dinning.
Wonderful food and negronis, and very good service.
Very creative italian food ...really good one
We were served quickly and the orders were correct. We halved the first course - lovely octopus with beans. Main courses were varied, looked attractive and tasted delicious. Orders not too big so we all had a sweet. Again they were delicious.Would recommend this restaurant.
Perfect venue for lunch with a girlfriend - the food and service were both excellent, and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. The only negative was that we thought the decor was rather old fashioned and tired, but the really delicious menu and super-charming staff made up for it.
We really enjoyed the meal. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. This is a restaurant that we shall most certainly return to in the future.
Is was a shame.
Was so looking forward to eat at one of Angela’s restaurants for a while.
Service was ok, food was less so.
Starters of fish and pasta was good, only good.
Mains of home made nduja pasta did not live to expectations; risotto Milanese, same and bavette was so incredibly small and not tender enough.
Dessert of chocolate tart; if am not mistaken was taken off the bill as it was barely eaten. Dry dry dry, might have been sitting around for a while.
Husband said coffee was very good though.
But it was an expensive bill for what we where given.
Sad, to say the least.
Very good food and wine and generally very pleasant staff.
This is an absolutely fantastic restaurant! The food is first class and the staff so helpful. The maitre d’ found me a lovely table and because I waited a few minutes brought some cichetti. Amazingly nice. Even the lady taking the coats wanted to know what we ate and what we liked as they were trying new things on the menu. Clearly a real team effort with everyone pulling together.
This was my second visit to Cafe Murano and it didn't disappoint. The service is excellent with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The menu has something for everyone, the pasta primi are delicious. Not at all rushed and although it was a busy lunchtime everything worked so smoothly. We'll be back!
Came here with my mum for her birthday and had a fantastic time. The service was exceptional and our waiter was so attentive making sure we was well looked after. He explained the menu and we went for his recommendations on some of the food which did not disappoint. The Mushroom Arancini and Chicken Milanese get a special mention as they were delicious (as was everything else) Would highly recommend this restaurant for it's amazing service and delicious authentic Italian cuisine.
Faultless other than failing to take our coats and forcing us to take them to the table hence 4 X for service. Otherwise our Italian waitress was absolutely charming.
Menu options were well balanced and executed extremely well. I had the red mullet followed by the halibut. Both were really good.
The food was delicious and the service was very prompt and very friendly. Will definitely be going there again in the future.
Very slick service and good food and drink offering
Had the set lunch menu - great food, and friendly service
Excellent food. Best gnocchi ive ever had. Shame the waitress mistook which wine i had ordered.
Very welcoming and staff very attentive and helpful. Nice ambience and great location. We had the set menu as a pre-theatre meal. The food was good but nothing special. As always, it is the add ons that bump up the price - side dishes, wine, water and coffee doubled the cost of the meal. If you didn't have any of these, it would be very good value and I would recommend it for the wonderful staff and location.
Simple and authentic Italian dishes, beautifully prepared and presented in very comfortable surrounding
I love this place, second visit, this time for an early supper before going on. I thought we’d have the place to ourselves but it was quickly humming. Excellent service which might not not have been the case as none of our party were drinking and in so many establishments you can be treated as less than worthy clients do we felt good about dry Feb rather than dry Jan’
Food simple, perfectly cooked, seasoned and presented
Excellent meal with friends. We were in the window seat which is a bit cramped but it did not detract from the excellent food and attentive service.
The menu is varied and the set menu good value. We had a combination of the two.
A very pleasant enviroment in which to dine enjoying the excellent menu
Perfection all round
Very good food, friendly but not over-friendly service and a really good ambience. My wife didn't like the paraffin oil candle because of the smell but otherwise everything was excellent.
I use a lot of restaurants in London and would say CM is the best at the moment. It has the perfect balance between interesting food and style, without being too formal or ponsy.
Booked as a celebratory lunch. We had the set menu which was exceptional value and very filling. The wine list was extensive although my wife just a glass of the ‘house’ white was was lovely. My son had a delicious cocktail - all good value. It is a Cafe by name and has a great atmosphere. This would not be a place for a quiet intimate meal if that is your thing.
Overall, great location, lovely decor, great ambience, attentive staff, quality food at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend
We enjoyed our meal at Cafe Murano. Our food was far better than the usual Italian, with very fresh ingredients and interesting combinations in the pasta and gnocchi. An exceptional tiramisu.
Warning: this is not the restaurant Murano, the great italian one, this is something else, a sort of humble brasserie. The food is nothing special, I hardly remember what I had apart the pasta that was quiet good,
Lovely vibe to the restaurant. Great service from our waiter and the staff in general. Good value for money.
Service was fabulous. The ambiance was a little stuffy but it is the neighborhood. The starters were delicious however only one of our mains delivered on taste (the tuna linguine was like a school lunch... but the tortellini with homemade n'duja was awesome). Desserts were both good but not great. Overall solid italian for the area but not one I'm hurrying back to
