Café Murano - Covent Garden
Food was okay but nothing exceptional. The service was very poor we were left waiting far too long between courses.
Loved the food and had a great table, staff were very attentive, will definitely be back thanks
Great atmosphere, fabulous food and super service! Front of house were exceptional! Can’t wait to come back. Xx 😊😊
Delicious food and pleasant staff. We were in a bit rush for our show and staff were very accommodating for that. No problem at all. We like the cosy and relaxed atmosphere.
I think our whole experience would have been different if not sat at the front of the restaurant. The service from the Scottish Manager was great and attentive - when he could be. The waitresses seemed distracted and a few times just seen talking to themselves. Their system was either under stress or broken.
Food was okay. Nothing amazing but also not awful. Decent portion of pasta and the arancini was fantastic.
Staff were friendly but food not up to scratch for the money paid
Great place, we went there for pre theatre meal. It's absolutely worth another visit. Great service really nice Italian vibe and tasty food.
Great food but the service was very very slow, we had to call our waiter three time to ask were our main course was. And we had to rush our main to get out on time and didn’t have time for dessert - if you don’t have a good couple of hours to spare don’t bother.
Fab food in lovely setting. Excellent meal deal. Good wine selection.
Delicious food, efficient service, welcoming atmosphere.
Food was ok but not a lot of choice and expensive for what it was. Nice atmosphere and friendly service
A MEAL OF 2 PARTS. THE OCTOPUS APPETIZER AND OSSO BUCCO RISOTTO WERE BOTH VERY GOOD, TASTY DISHES. IN CONTRAST, THE MAIN COURSES WERE DISAPPOINTING. MY HUSBAND'S LAMB RUMP WAS NOT VERY FLAVOURSOME AND WAS OVERPOWERED BY THE ACCOMPANYING AUBERGINE. THE BRAISED RABBIT WITH ORZO AND OLIVES WAS SENT BACK FOR A COUPLE OF REASONS. FIRSTLY, THERE WERE NO OLIVES ANYWHERE ON THE PLATE AND WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ORZO LOOKED SUSPICIOUSLY LIKE A FEW TINY GRAINS OF WHITE RICE. THE PLATE WAS INSTEAD FULL OF DICED CARROT! SECONDLY, THE RABBIT, A LEG, HAD BEEN COOKED SOUS VIDE RATHER THAN BRAISED. THE MEAT WAS OVERLY SOFT AND LACKED FLAVOUR.
I had run The Royal parks halfmarathon, and i wanted to order a table at this restaurant that i was recommended.
The food was delicious and the gentleman serving us did a good job. However the overall experience was really disappointing. It all started with a bad welcome when we arrived at 12 on a Sunday and the restaurant was absolutely empty. We were given only one option - a table just by the door and we were told that all other tables are set ready for group bookings of 8. We were 4! After insisting to not sit by the door (in an empty restaurant) with a young kid and an old gentleman, we were squeezed at a small table at the back sitting area (which is quite dark). After more than an hour passed the tables around were still empty waiting for the customers to arrive. When we lefty the majority of the tables were empty and we were told we were treated this way because they did not know how long we were going to stay. Next time when your customers ask for a better table, then try to understand and accommodate them.
This was an absolutely great find. The food and wine were delicious, and the staff were attentive, engaging and made our meal really pleasant. I definitely recommend the limoncello di capri to finish off the night with!
Disappointing. Had the pre-theatre menu but wouldn't bother again. Very uninspiring food and slow service. To be fair the Manager did try to make up for it but it was a bit late by then.
Lovely staff and amazing pre theatre menu. I would highly recommend xx
Enjoyable meal as always. Noise levels made conversation a big effort. We had a group of about 12 behind us for our visit of nearly 3 hours.
I arrived an hour late due to street protests and was clearly frazzled. They gave me a Prosecco to calm my nerves - no charge - and couldn’t have been nicer or more attentive throughout my visit.
It was a great evening everything was brilliant from start to finish . The food was excellent portions perfect.
Would definitely go again!
Wonderful food and impeccable service.
Absolutely first class experience at Cafe Murano, lovely friendly welcome, ambiance and decor excellent and food quite simply gorgeous.
Very pricy for poor/mediocre food. I would not return.
We went for the 3 course Menu del Giornio as a pre theatre meal.
Cracking value at £24, coupled with Foo and Service way above the price.
I was very disappointed in the spaghetti pomodoro my friend and I had as main course. Both of felt that it was far too salty. I have never experienced this at Café Murano before and sincerely hope it was a one off. Not good.
We ate very early to be in time for the opera
The staff were friendly and efficient including helping us choose and when we asked to share a starter and pudding
The food was delicious and I certainly hope to visit again.
Good food, very slow service - late being seated, ages between starter and main course being services and too many people crammed into a small space.
Had a fantastic meal at Cafe Murano. The food was excellent as was the service. Had the menu of the day which is brilliant value. Would definitely return and recommend to friends too.
We had an unfortunate experience, where we wanted a pre-theatre dinner and arrived on time for our reservations at 17:45 and our server took our order within 10 minutes, we received our appetizers in a timely way, but then another 30 minutes went by and we did not receive our main courses, in spite of neighbouring tables who had arrived after us all being served around us. We asked our server, and he said it would be 5 minutes, but then 10 minutes went by and I had to complain again and ask, and it was evident the kitchen or our server had forgotten our order and we had to leave soon to catch our show. I asked to speak to the manager, and the manager apologized and explain a mistake had been made and they were trying to rush our order. The manager in the end did offer our meal for free. It was unfortunate, because we only had 10 minutes to eat something before having to leave to catch our play, and we would have liked to eaten the food in a normal course. We appreciate that the management felt bad for the mistake, but it was too bad that the servers weren't paying attention or forthright about what had happened with our order in the first place.
Great service from all staff, attentive without being intrusive. Food is modern Italian and well presented and burstin with fresh flavours.
Cannot find fault. Recommended for a lazy lunch. T
Noisy. Poor ambiance. Feels like you are sitting in a corridor if anywhere near the entrance.
Food was good
Main issue is the high prices for food and extras on the menus
So poor value for money
I will not be returning as so many better alternative local places to go to
It was fine, they very kindly found us a table when we had booked counter service.
Set menu did not match the main menu for quality and I was disappointed with my choices. I have eaten here before and it was lovely, maybe better luck next time?
Lunch was good. Very busy and rather nosiy and only two waiters for all the tables meant we had to wait longer than you would expect for drinks from the bar etc.
Great Italian food
The food was really lovely. I had the sea bass with pesto orzo and coffee meringue. It was on the day special which is a great value and perfect for pretheatre dinner. One star down as worth increased clientele the service for slower.
I've eaten here several times and like it very much but this time it didn't get off to a good start. We were eating early so the restaurant was very quiet, but even so, the three waiters stood chatting to each other while taking no notice of us. Eventually i had to attract their attention whereupon one of them bounded up like Tigger and said "hi Guys!!". MIGHT work with a couple of 25 year olds but certainly didn't hit the mark with my pal or I since I'm not male and both of us are approaching 70. If I wanted to be spoken to like that, i'd go to a national chain of much cheaper eating places. I dont ! I want to be treated with respect and get decent, understated service. To be fair to him, I conveyed how i felt very quickly and he had the sense to get someone else to look after us, after which it all went much better and was up to the usual standard that i like very much
We were a party of three and we liked the ambience. The service was good, if a little slow. Personally I would have liked a little more choice on the menu. The food was of a high quality.
the service was slow food took quite a long time to come, however it was very nice when it arrived. Would recommend you ask for a table upstairs as ground floor is quite noisy
We were a bit disappointed with the food on Saturday, especially after an excellent lunch experience last year which prompted us to book again. The starters were excellent but the mains were underwhelming, particularly the sausage rigatoni. Our cauliflower salad came out 40 mins before the mains so we had to ask for a fresh replacement. Such a shame as I remember the lunch being exceptional.
