Great experience and service
Food was excellent
Perfect place for an afternoon meeting over coffee. Easy to talk. Private and great service.
I love Café du Parc; it’s always a must when I visit DC. The food was on point (fabulous French onion soup and lobster roll), but he service was lacking this trip. Our waiter took our order and never returned. We had to ask food runners and hostesses to help and nobody seemed to realize that our waiter vanished. A bit disappointing!
Great food and ambiance!
Was greeted by some higher up ( seemingly by how they were dressed ) people from the hotel ownership side, and stopped at our table to have a conversation with us! So nice, and genuine! Absolutely will be back!
We chose the Willard Intercontinental for it's history and location. I researched the Cafe and noticed the inside ambiance of the dining room, according to the online photos, was warm and inviiting. When we arrived we found the Cafe duParc on the main level. When we entered we were in a cafeteria of sorts. It was the same picture from the website that described the more relaxed part of the Cafe. Someone greeted us and asked if we wanted to eat inside or out. We were looking forward to eating in the dining room. She took us upstairs. The room did not look like the pictures. It was open and airy but did not resemble the online photo which was more upscale and intimate. No one was there. People were working in the kitchen area behind a counter. We decided to sit outside. We ordered gispacho and both ordered a lobster sandwich. Gispacho was good. Could have been served with a piece of hard french bread since this is supposed to be a french restaurant. The lobster sandwich was a disaster. My friend almost choked on it, it was so clumped together. For $28 it came with a aalad with very little dressing. We were both so disappointed. We expected a first class experience. We should have gone to Starbucks for lunch. If you are looking for a first class experience in the nations capital, avoid this place!
We were looking for a nice place to eat for our final day in DC. The Cafe du Parc was our choice, mostly because we'd been there before. In the time of covid, hard to find something open. Mussels were good, crab cake was good, salad a bit too oniony and vinegary, fries were excellent, hamburger was fine, desserts were very pretty, apricot almond tart could have had more flavor, same with the pistachio ice cream. Creme brulee was very good. We thought we'd like outdoors, but it was so hot, indoors was a better choice.
We enjoyed breakfast on the patio. Shaded and with a view. Food hit the spot and ambiance and service were great. Will definitely return next time we’re in town.
Beautiful venue, good food (breakfast, eggs Benedict). The only downside is if you're doing a business "lunch". I think we were in a dead zone of service. People who arrived after us were served before us. Couldn't get the wait staff's attention for refill on water or drinks. Once you did get their attention it was good service with a smile. Also had to wait 15 minutes for the check after trying to flag down the waiter ( timed it). If you want to kill time and have a lazy morning, its pretty good. Not so much for business.
Great location, service, and outstanding food (brunch)!
Thought this would be nicer since it is at the Willard Hotel but it was quite casual and disappointing. We ate indoors because it was hot inside and there was nobody else inside. Also the A/C wasn’t on or was on low, because it got quite warm and the difference in temperature was quite obvious when we went into the rest of the hotel. Food was very average but at a premium price. Maybe it’s not bad for brunch but not recommend for dinner.
Had high hopes for this place, but ended up being disappointed. Not quite the French bistro we were hoping for. The service was slow and I ended up waiting for my food 10 mins longer then the rest of my table. I guess it’s French, because whatever you order is drowned in butter. Won’t be going back here.
I had a business breakfast meeting at Cafe Du Parc, and the atmosphere, service and food were outstanding. I'm sure it's a wonderful place for a family or personal breakfast.
My favorite breakfast place in DC- enjoyed it with all my friends & family as the perfect way to start a day at the National Mall
Perfect weather and delicious food made for a magical late lunch on the outdoor patio.
The service was phenomenal, all that we interacted with including the cheerful hostess were wonderful. We are here several times during our stay, lunch and dinner and everyone enjoyed their meal. Being from bed England we were skeptical about the twist on the lobster roll - yet it was delicious! Ordered it another visit. The outdoor cafe is a beautiful place to enjoy.
The food was terrible. I was surprised that the hotel would connect its name to something so bad!
Vacation with family.
Great location, good food, an overall great time!
The excellent food and sitting outside on Penn Ave makes Cafe du Parc such an amazing experience. Unfortunately, the service was pretty slow, but it wasn't the waiter's fault. It appeared only 2 waiters were working the entire patio and inside. I understand that many businesses are still struggling to hire back staff as we recover from the pandemic, so I wasn't upset, just had to find the waiter a couple of times.
Our sever and the kitchen staff were outstanding; they accommodated our food allergies, e.g. making the lobster sandwich without dairy (delicious!) and recommending gluten free options as well, and our server helped make the 10-year anniversary that my wife and I were celebrating even more special. It was such a warm reception, and my wife and I look forward to our next visit.
Was not sure what to expect, I was not disappointed, great staff, and the food was outstanding...........
Great food. Always a favorite spot. Seemed a bit short of staff.
Gazpacho is amazing. And them came the grilled salmon—excellent chef.
The staff really make this place work like a finely tuned machine. Always nice, always welcoming and professional.
We had a great waiter, but a rude waiter assistant. He didn’t like our 2 requests for ketchup, Mayo, salt and pepper - we were the only table on the second floor.
I’m older and had high heels on and the waiter would not let me use the elevator to get to bathrooms on first floor. I rode it back upstairs and insisted he let my family use the elevator when they needed the restrooms. He tried to stop them too. The elevator takes you directly to the bathrooms and it’s so convenient.
Such a lovely space they just need to up the service and hospitality.
The front of the house was lovely!!!
Both Elizabeth and Rath worked together to insure that my grandson and I had a delicious and healthy meal to take on our train ride home. They couldn’t have been more helpful. This restaurant was so good, we would consider staying at the Willard next time in town.
Pretty, clean and delicious. You may be able to find something a bit more hip and trendy but the food can’t be beat for quality. We are planning our third meal there this trip alone.
While not the best French Bistro in the capital, Café du Parc is a good option for good, tasty, good quality food. The ambience is great, located at The Willard and with a nice view down Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol.
Pleasant restaurant for breakfast - outside seating was very nice
One order was wrong, the other wasn’t cooked fully. No one apologized and they did not reduce the very expensive bill at all. Nice location but we will not eat there again.
Great setting for outdoor dining. It's not crazy expensive but I was not impressed with the food. Flavorful...yes, but the quality if the product just didn't measure up. Not in any hurry to rush back.
A lovely outdoor venue; tables spaced nicely; excellent menu; sufficient drinks/wine/beer choices. Lots of fun!
Great outdoor dining and excellent food. Service was very attentive and well paced.
Horrible experience! Made reservations here for a business lunch. We arrived, were seated, asked what type of water we would like. After sitting for 20 minutes, we asked to order our meals and were told that the kitchen is full and not taking orders for 45 mins - 1 hour. How come we were not informed this before being seated, while being seated, or while waiting for 20 minutes while they still took our water/drink requests?! Ridiculous. Poor customer service.
Great place to go for a special ocassion. We celebrated Mother's day with a brunch.
Celebrating Mother’s Day, the brunch was amazing.
Service felt rushed with the appetizers served within a minute of the order. For dinner, when pre dinner coctails are ordered, I would expect a little more time to relax and enjoy before beginning food service. WE were seated at a corner table and the server could not reach to put plates in front of me. So I had to reach over the table for them, and hand off to clear. If I wanted to clear dishes I could do that at home. Also some plates were cleared before everyone was finished with entree and the dessert menus placed. It was rude, and I felt embarrassed for my guest. Amateur service very much below what I would expect here.
