Food was superb - presentation , taste and brilliant service made the experience fantastic. A solid 5 and I am looking forward to going again soon
Food is exquisite as usual. Extensive wine list
Wonderful food and service. Loris is exceptional and made dinner a wonderful experience
The service was great and everything was delicious from the drinks to the sweets at the end.
The fish and chips plus two waters £70 was a shocking amount how ever nice my wife said hers was mine was less than l would expect for £35 ( in water) nice photos on guild nice staff but better value elsewhere l am Sorry to say £60 l would see as LONDON but 70 was to much .
I have some good memories of my lovely family celebrations here with my parents, siblings and our children. Was so nostalgic to return with my partner for his birthday to share with him my memories.
It was so nice to see Loris, the Maitre de was still as genial as ever and the food quality and service outstanding. Thank you for making it such a special evening.
Great food! Didn’t get my points though
An amazing experience. Excellent menu, superb service and with an atmosphere that allows real conversations to occur. I highly recommend it for a very pleasant and enjoyable evening with extraordinary service, excellent food, fine wine and an atmosphere where a business meeting or a enjoyable discussion may be held where you speak in a normal tone of voice.
Lovely service and dining room. Food was fabulous. The scallop starter was well done. Order the Dover Sole with fresh veg. The best I’ve had.
HAD A DRINK IN THE BAR BEFORE DINNER. THERE WAS A PIANIST PLAYING AND THE BAR WAS BUSY BUT NOT CROWDED. DINNER WAS EXCELLENT THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK, WENT BACK TO THE BAR FOR COFFEE TO FINISH OFF A PERFECT EVENING. ALL THE STAFF WERE SO PLEASANT.
A grand hotel in a grand location but not a grand time for us. The service was super slow, my guest didn't get the cocktail he had ordered and the lobster in my lobster omelette was off, and they still tried to charge me for it after I sent it back. Never again.
Can't recommend this place highly enough... there was a live jazz band in the bar and the service and food were such treat. Lush environment - can't wait to go back.
Sunday beef Wellington - very nice and great value
We did enjoy our meal but there was the mistake with my onion-family intolerance that made it a bit of a mess! Our waiter was wonderful - very human and warm - and did his utmost to sort it all out for us. We enjoyed our food and matching wine flight. I'd consider going back because of the lovely waiter!
The staff were lovely, but the room is generally looking a bit tired. It was pretty dead on a Saturday evening. Had the set menu with a wine flight, the lobster omelette was great and fairly generous. Sadly the pork belly was awful - large peices of gristle made it on to the plate, over-smoked mash and broad beans past their best, the accompanying sauce was great but there was not nearly enough of it. Peach Melba made for a decent enough simple pudding. The Pinot noir was good and we had some nice mini macaroons and truffles to finish. Overall ok but uninspired and the main course was a major let-down
The food and wine was great staff were attentive and helpful. Quiet atmosphere which was fine for us. A very pleasant eveing.
Excellent set menu for £45 and quality of food .
Service was exceptional and head waiter Loris was very attentive and helpful.
Our first visit, but the minute we arrived we were treated like valued guests. We had opted for the "Best of British" menu with wine flight and apart from delicious food, beautifully presented and expertly served, the whole occasion was a delightful experience.
A midweek lunch outing. We opted for the set menu, three options on each of the three courses plus the option of a main from the daily changing trolley. Modern British food. We opted for: lobster omelette and pate, (pieces of lobster could have been larger... like the Goring !!). Chicken for the mains and a cheese cake for desert. All well presented, good temperature and sensible portion sizes. We added in the matching wines, very pleasant with the food. A focus on South African, the hotel has ties to a Vineyard down there. A non intrusive piano player creating a welcoming background sound to an almost empty restaurant. All in all a good lunch, a warm and welcoming place. The bars good too... a gentlemens club feel.
Fantastic value, friendly staff, nice setting, good food
Loris is a most wonderful host. The food and recommendations and the personal service were absolutely outstanding. The food was indeed very rich and we especially enjoyed the lobster omelette which was expertly paired with the wine. The is possibly London's best kept secret. What a wonderful dining room and no annoying background music and crashing sounds that you get in a lot of restaurants these days. Loris explained that the plush carpet and wood panelling absorbs sounds and the service was just so impeccable. This place is very first class and just thanks for the memories. Cheers to Loris and the team.
Delightful service and with such attention to detail, on our very special anniversary evening
Fabulous service and great food!
Nice and quiet place where dinner can be properly enjoyed.
Booked this restaurant for a birthday dinner. The manager was kind enough to provide us with a cordoned off area in the middle of the restaurant which provided us with a good seating arrangement and comfortable amount of privacy with good ambience. Staff were very attentive to our needs and went the extra mile to help bring out the birthday cake, then return to the kitchen to plate up the cake servings, before boxing up the remainder for us to take home. The staff even gifted a little teddy with a fresh flower to the birthday girl. What a nice surprise!
The food choice was substantial enough not to be overwhelmed and each course was made deliciously. The wine list was very detailed with a varied selection catering for all budgets and wine drinkers. All in all, very good restaurant and staff service in a good Mayfair location.
I booked this restaurant for my boyfriends birthday, as well as a couples valentines meal. It was fantastic. The food was brilliant, the added extras they brought over to us were fantastic too, oysters and sorbet. On top of that the White Label Champagne tasted brilliant (I'm not usually a drinker). There was a little wait between being seated and being served, but after that the service from our waiter was impeccable. Would definitely recommend.
The ambiance was very good, however with a few people. The good was decent but somehow expected more. The service was excellent.
I booked the table based on the good review but I was very disappointed in many aspects.
We had a lovely evening with very attentive service.
We had great service and felt it was a great value. £30 for a beautiful 3 course dinner of lobster omelette appetizer, Scottish sirloin with Yorkshire pudding and a lovely dessert. This was a great find right by our London hotel.
Not many diners, but excellent service and very good food.
Beautifull room, wonderfull tea and cakes and fantastic service!!!
I took my wife out for her birthday here after reading some good reviews. We had a lovely time, the staff were very attentive and made us feel special. The asparagus starter was particularly delicious and the portion sizes were just right.
We were greeted by a very helpful chap who went off to find our missing companion, who had arrived ahead of time and was elsewhere in the hotel.
Unfortunately, there were only a couple of other diners, so the restaurant was very quiet.
We ate from the set menu (£35 for three courses and a glass of champagne). There was plenty of choice - except for our vegetarian. The chef was good enough to prepare another dish for her to give a bit of variety. I enjoyed all my courses - as did my friends.
Wine is a bit pricey, but I enjoyed the Chablis (£47).
Overall, a pleasant meal - but not outstanding.
We always choose a lovely restaurant to meet Butler's was everything we could have
Asked for and more. The staff in the restaurant and bar were very friendly and professional.
A very high standard overall.
Once again a very enjoyable meal at Bulers - we had the lunch set menu - I had the roast lamb and my husband had steak. The starters and desserts were delicious and coffee came with macaroons. Unfortunately it was very quiet on a Monday lunchtime. We were lucky to have Loris as our waiter again - truly professional and excellent in all respects. We complimented the macaroons and were given a little parcel to take home. Would highly recommend
Beautiful decor and excellent service. Highly recommended.
Superb food, exemplary service and a reasonably priced wine list make Butlers a joy every time I visit. Their daily carvery / roast offer and nostalgic puddings are such a treat. The dining room was nearly empty when we visited on this particular evening, which does not do them justice - they deserve to be busier. A really lovely evening made even better by the attentive and charismatic service of the maitre d'. Highly recommended.
Wide ranging menu and the food was delicious.
Very friendly service, just a little bit slow on the drinks (had to chase a few times).
Great place for a quiet meal.
We went as a couple for dinner, first time here and we will definitely return. I would recommend the venison loin for main and the chocolate fondant for dessert. I had the scallops for starters but coveted my husbands choice of the egg with bubble n' squeak, bacon and black pudding. Attentive staff, beautiful surroundings and decor suitable to the grade listed building.
Dinner was excellent. Had a loud party next to me, who seem to have lingered after tea through dinner. They really made the experience less enjoyable.
