Service was the worst I’ve experienced in any restaurants. It started with a 1.5hrs wait for food and after chasing up for numerous times within the hour, the manager admitted that they’ve misplaced our order and had no idea what we’ve ordered. Dishes finally came but we were served the same dish twice, new dishes were placed on top of dishes which we have just finished and when asked to removed the dirty dishes, we were told by the waitress to just deal it for now and she will remove it later. It was simply a jaw dropping experience given the exorbitant prices we were charged.
The food was good but portions were small, not to mention our starters eventually came last after we’ve finished everything else. Granted they were busy during Chinese new year eve but i don’t think service could have been any worse with all the other tables around us asking for their dishes and making complaints. One table even walked out after waiting for an hour to be served any food. Don’t think I’ll ever go back.
Some dishes food was dry or over cooked - not sure if fried meats were made fresh
The dish Shanghai “Lion’s Heads” Pork Meat Balls is very good and authentic! Highly recommend.
Family meal before Christmas, food is always very well done. They had Xmas crackers on the table to get us in to a festive mood
Over attentive waiters pouring wine too frequently. Seafood in lettuce wrap contained very little seafood. Main dishes were on the whole good and less MSG evident than most Chinese restaurants. One starter didn’t arrive with the others.
Used to be absolutely amazing but now just average. At the price levels they are charging its just no longer worth it at all. No sure what happened maybe change of kitchen staff?
One of the best Chinese restaurants in London. Service level is on par with the upmarket Western peers. Food is always well prepared.
Very courteous staff . Didn’t wink an eye lid when changed the soup order . Also my moms special food needs were well catered to . Yuwen and the lady server sorry forgot the name were both so courteous and nothing was too much trouble for them . Thanks
After slight hic up getting a suitable table everything else was excellent
The staff are very friendly and helpful, the dim sum is good, and it’s great values
Had a good meal with friends on monday night. the food was very goodood food
A bit pricey at £100 per head
Great food nice venue and lovely lobster!
Tastes not very tradition
Very spacious and quiet with only four tables when we got there for late lunch, the service was ok. The food was a bit pricy for what it was. Overall, it was just ok.
Food here is variable but generally always good.
The service is never fabulous and it was certainly desultory this time.
We waited for our table. Then had to remind them to get it ready when the people who had been at it had left.
We waited half an hour for our cocktails, then only one arrived. Waited another 10 minutes for it to be made, apparently the order was never placed. Took ages for the food to come, had to ask for things like straws numerous times then we were asked if we had asked for spoons!
We’re used to sort of a benign neglect here, my family and I, and think it preferable to outright rudeness and meanness of the Royal China establishments consistent over a decade until we decided enough was enough.
However, this time, I had brought a guest, someone who had never been there and was so excited. So it was super embarrassing when after we requested her cocktail for the third time of asking, that she said, ‘it’s really bad’. I felt sad too. My family and I really like the food here but it’s true, we’d probably come a lot more if the service were better. I mean we normally inevitably spend over £320 with drinks so you really want better service. There was one particular guy who did try to make things a little better but it was only a little better. It did not rescue the situation.
Go for the food, the place is lovely and most of the time people aren’t rude. It just could be so much more with the right service.
Excellent service delicious food large portions quiet spacious good value set lunch menu to be highly recommended
Enjoyed the evening & the service was very courteous. Thank you
My guest and I had a very enjoyable meal. The food was of a high standard and the service was acceptable but not great.
The crispy noodles were not actually freshly prepared! Put in the microwave and reheated! Usually very good but this time I was disappointed
I was given a choice of seating and the table I sat down at had stains and splashes up the wall. Can’t believe that’s hygienic let alone very pleasant to look at! After waiting for 10 minutes I had to ask for some water. The same applied when my guest arrived. Food was fine, not great not awful.
However they need to look at their service and clean up an increasingly tatty restaurant. Shame.....it used to be great.
Overall decent food. We particularly like the Shanghai specialities as part of the dim Sum menu. Shanghai dumplings were beautiful and juicy. Delicious mango pudding. Nice selection of teas too.
Good, if slightly overpriced and I was also disappointed that I had a Dine card that was supposed to give us 25% off and they claimed to have never heard of it...slightly strange if it came up on the list of restaurants that have signed up. Not clear exactly with whom the blame lies but one would assume they would be aware.
Friendly and efficient service. Very nicely cooked dim sum dishes - can't fault it.
It was a great place for dim sum and the staff were very helpful
Very delicious dim sum cooked to order. Served in a lovely friendly neighbourhood restaurant.
Lovely dishes of dim sum served. Staff are friendly and attentative.
Another nicely cooked ho fun - delicious for a worker's lunch!
food was very good only comment it was salty.Suggest less salt then its perfect.Good service. we are pure vegetarian and found our choice. I recommend this restaurant for vegetarians.
Very nicely wok fried ho-fun served with some shiu mar - good to fill a hungry work belly.
Had the usual dim sum lunch - all very nicely presented and looked delicious.
Had a lovely dim sum lunch as per usual in my work lunch hour.
Had the Singapore Noodles with some Har-gao dim sum. This is more than ample for one's lunch .
Another nice outing for a Dim Sum lunch - this time around I had some spare ribs with Beef Hofun.
Another yummy dim sum lunch at Bright Courtyard. I loved the chicken feet and the mooli croquettes all served with glutinous rice parcels and shui mai.
Had the usual har-gui, shui mai, with glutenous rice parcels and pork cheung fun. Very deliciously prepared and served with the usual friendly smiles.
Had the beef ho fun with a couple of dim sum delights. I am quite a regular now as I work nearby, a couple of blocks away. The restaurant manager was kind enough to grant me a bit of a loyalty discount. All the more reason to visit again.
Ordered the sea spiced aubergine - this vegetable was braised with lotus roots, bamboo shoots, carrots and came in a lovely clay pot.
Reheated spring rolls, inedible prawns in the frie rice (more thai cooked than chinese) and sweet and sour sauce with excessive, and not a litlle, vinegar (although the pork was well cooked). And a 14% discretional service charge!!. Too little for too much money when in he City are plenty of good chinese restaurants for this price (and without this abusive service charge).
This time around I tried the chilli Ma Po tofu with pork mince meat - very nicely cooked and served in a deep bowl dish to keep the contents warm for longer. Once again, the staff were attentive and friendly.
