Rockwell Group of New York composed a design scheme which reflects the elegant informality of Mina’s modern American cuisine, while also paying tribute to the classical stature of the hotel. I have dined here five times over th past couple of years. You definitely don't come here to save money. The food is better than most steak houses and the ambience in the Georgetown Four Seasons Hotel is great. This was a very odd night - our initial server just disappeared to take care of a larger party. I had to physically go and get someone to provide service. The captain, Rita, stepped in and did a great job getting things back on track.And then - our steaks took almost an hour to come out from the kitchen. I asked several servers what might be happening to out $60-80 steaks after 45 minutes. It took 15 minutes longer and 2 more requests before the steaks finally appeared. The food was great- but not worth the wait by an stretch of the imagination. They comped 2 glasses
Of wine and I suggested they would need to do better. They comped 50 percent t of the bill. I won't be rushing back - though I would go back and suggest they are held to the high standard of service their food quality and prices demand.
I was ever-so slightly disappointed this go around. It was seemingly a very busy (lunchtime), therefore lots of distractions. My must-have's are the fries and the bread, although the bread is complimentary (I've often asked for more because it is wonderful)...they were both luke warm, at best.
This was the second time we've come here to celebrate a special occasion (this time a birthday) and both times the service and food was really excellent. They treat you so well and the meal, while expensive, does include some complimentary perks like duck fat fries, gorgeous toasted bread with a drizzle of truffle oil, and a little dessert to celebrate birthdays. They have a very extensive wine list too. Lovely spot for date night or a special occasion if you want to treat yourself!
That's really the best steak-house, I've ever experienced! Everything is just great! The ambiance is pleasant and comfortable, food is extremely delicious, the service is simply beyond praise! I will definitely recommend this Restaurant to my friends as a must visit place!
Atmosphere was fun and energetic. Our waitress was informative and attentive. Food was amazing and there was plenty of it. Frenchfry sampler was fun, mac and cheese with lobster is a must. Desserts: try the toasted marshmellow, presentation was great. Baked Alaskan's presentation was grand.
Went first time Oct 2016 and it was great. Food was great. Steak was of high quality and service was excellent. So we came back again in October 2017 and was very disappointed. Every aspects of standards were lowered. Food quality deteriorated. Wagyu steak is of poor quality (better just buy USDA prime at costco). Foie Gras was poorly cooked. Duck fat french fries served cold and soggy. Service level was not up to the same standard, slow, and unattentive. We had to wait a long time to order wine, had to pour our own wine (except the first pour by the sommerlier), and entree came very slow. For a premium steak house, we will not return to this place again. Better try some other places that keep their standard high.
My son and I went for a special dinner while he was visiting. The Wagyu hanger steak and the shrimp cocktail was great. However, the rest of the meal and the service was not on par with the level of restaurant. This is my 6th time to Bourbon Steak and it has been steadily declining. First, the service was sporadic. Once the waiter didn't see us ordering alcoholic beverages and the dining room began to fill up, we barely saw him. When our steaks were served, we could not understand the person serving the steaks and we were served the wrong level of doneness for the steaks. The waiter did not come over to check on us for at least 10 minutes after service. My nonalcoholic beverage was not offered a refill. The truffle butter rolls were dry, although better than the last time I was there in August. The Brussels sprouts recipe was changed and it was ok but they didn't seem to be cooked correctly. We passed on dessert since the service was so slow and no one seemed to care whether we stayed or left. Very disappointing.
I've been here four times... each time I ask for a special table and they deliver every time. The (good) food is a little pricey but I don't care as I only get to go once a year - it delivers on flavor and is unique. The fact that it's in the Four Seasons in Georgetown is exciting as you feel like you are really somewhere posh. I micromanaged the timing of my apps/mains/deserts as I was on my own and wanted to enjoy the experience; the waiter totally accommodated. I've had the best steak I've ever had (so far) here ever (7X ranch American Wagyu boneless ribeye).
I had heard that Bourbon steak was one of the best steakhouses in DC. I think that there are lots of options with much better value, better steaks, and better ambiance. The prices on the steaks were well above other steakhouses, which offer much tastier meat with better preparation (BLT, Maestro). The lack of tablecloths is reminiscent of the Daily Grill, not of a premium steakhouse.
Bourbon Steak was one of the best steakhouses we've ever been to. The meal started off with a complimentary french fry trio with 3 dipping sauces- amazing! The Wagyi New York Strip (topped with foie gras) was exceptional, beyond delicious, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. If you're a truffle butter/truffle oil lover, there are many options on the menu for you. The only disappointing factor was the price. It is priced slightly above all the other fine dining steakhouses in DC. Our bill was not so pretty- but the food was well worth it.
Unimpressed. Either the server heard my order for medium rare as medium well or the kitchen has no idea what medium rare means. For a $50+ steak it should have been prepared well.
Room is nice and hotel lobby is actually very nice. Burrata appetizer was OK and Smores dessert was probably the best thing I was served during the meal.
Won't be going back.
Food was great, and the staff was great, but it took forever to get our steaks. The noise level was a little high and we had a hard time both being able to hear the wait staff. We were also a little disappointed in the wedge salad. The blue cheese dressing was very watery. Would of been a 5 star review if we got our steaks faster, it probably took about 45 min-1 hour for us to get our steaks that were being cooked Medium. Not sure what the hold up was. We were at the restaurant for a total of 2 hours.
Disappointing. I've been to their Miami location and it is fantastic. We were in DC for a weekend with our daughter and son in law and wanted to have a great meal. The service was poor, the only thing we didn't have to ask for was water. My daughter had the tuna and half of it was overcooked. My son in law and I started the tomahawk steak. It was a bit undercooked and had more gristle than I have ever seen. For the poor quality of food and service, it was VERY overpriced.
Great dining experience. The staff made every effort to treat myself and my husband to the very best. They knew it was his birthday and provided excellent touches like a bday card and complementary dessert. They also threw in a complementary appetizer. Service was attentive yet not overbearing. We will be back!
