We love Bonnell's. We got to meet Chef Bonnell a couple years ago at a wine event in Ft Worth. We finally made it to his restaurant about two years ago. We had been to Waters, but didn't realize that was his as well. The food is amazing and creative. I love that everything is made in house. I hate Vinaigrette dressings, but I love his. The jalapeño is a great touch. This time we had the quail appetizer and it was really good. My husband always orders the red fish because he can't bring himself to try something else (he says he would be sad he didn't get the fish because it's so good). I tried the chicken this time and loved the sauce. I was a bit skeptical of it, but it was amazing.
So glad to be back! Pandemic precautions are in place so we felt safe. The food as always was fabulous!
We love Bonnell's and always choose it for special occasions and otherwise. Being a holder of a Grand Diplome de Cuisine at de Patisserie de L'Ecole le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France I definitely appreciate Jon Bonnell's kitchen skills. When we are lucky enough to have Sheila as our server we feel extra spoiled.
Best food that ever touched my lips! This place never disappoints! Pleasant conversation with chef Bonnell checking on our table. Worth every penny, I highly recommend this restaurant.
For our 55th anniversary, my husband and I were gifted with dinner at Bonnell's. This was our first time at the restaurant. We had the Quail Legs for our appetizer. Definitely a good choice. The Buffalo Tenderloin and the Pecan Crusted Redfish were our dinner choices. So very delicious and prepared just right. The server was very attentive. Jon Bonnell visited our table and was so nice and he is an excellent chef. We will definitely return to his restaurant for more meals.

As frequent customers, we decided to celebrate Father’s Day early since the location was closed on Sunday. The staff is (as usual outstanding and Sheila our server was fabulous)
We were just not pleased with the oysters nor the elk including the sides . Not good !! Green Chile grits were not up to par.
We will be back and hope it gets back to normal.

We've been customers of Chef Bonnell's fine restaurant on Bryant Irvin road for many years now. Being able to dine in the restaurant after the Covid event was like manna from heaven. My wife is a big time carnivore and loves the bison. We both ordered it (I usually eat chicken or fish) and for the first time ever, I ate the whole thing! No to-go this time, we wanted it all. The whisky-pepper sauce and cracked black pepper seasoning has not changed, still is a wonderful flavor packed sauce and the truffle Pomme-Frits exceptional as well. Service, even in a face mask was courteous and as expected impecable. We made a reservation before we left for the next saturday, I plan on the oysters texafeller and a small fish or the chicken pasta.
It was wonderful to be some of the first back after the COVID "shut-down". Have been going for years and it never disappoints!!

Fantastic dinner--after being closed for 87 days, Chef Bonnell and his team didn't miss a beat! Service, food quality and always such a great atmosphere! Excited they are back and look forward to many more delicious meals!

The food and service are about as good as it gets. The pepper-crusted buffalo steak is superb.
We go lunch several times a month. Everything is delicious and quiet and casual for a nice conversation while country plays softly.

Had an amazing experience at Bonnell’s!! We went for my wife’s birthday dinner and I can honestly say I have never had such a perfectly cooked piece of meat! The Buffalo was melt in your mouth tender! I took some home and it was STILL MELT IN YOUR MOUTH TENDER the NEXT day!!! Seriously, very impressed and pleased with the experience Bonnell’s has to offer. Thank you!
Bonnells is the go to choice of our family for special occasions. There are always unique items on the menu, always delicious, and the service is always impeccable. The opportunity to visit with the Chef-Owner, and that this is a locally owned facility are just an added bonus.
