Bob's Steak & Chop House - Dallas on Lemmon Avenue
We went for my husbands birthday and the service was very slow. My filet was super chewy so I sent it back and they cooked another one but by the time I got it I was full from eating my potato and carrot because of the wait. They didn’t even off to comp a round of drinks or appetizer. For the money we paid I expected better service and good.
Amazing wait staff and superb food! Love this place!
Best Filet ever had...would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good steak! We sat in back room with TV's to watch the LSU Clemson game. Great time had by all in our dinner party!
Employee appreciation. We enjoyed it the food. I would avoid Gary as a food server. Inattentive. Irritable. Short with his words. Maybe he just had a bad night. He got $120 tip (20%) but he did not deserve it. Bartender made awesome Old Fashions with a terrific rye. Best I’ve had. One if the guys at the table said his steak was the best he’s ever had.
the potatoes and carrot that came with the steak were amazing. steak was good. Service was a little lacking. We were seated in the corner of a doorway, with my chair basically in the walkway so servers kept bumping into my chair. I was asked if I wanted more bread, and I said yes. However, the bread never came. I'm going to give them a pass since I ate during prime time on a Saturday night, but I wasn't impressed.
My boyfriend took me for my birthday and the food was delicious. All the reviews I had read were so positive and they definitely didn't disappoint. I would go back for sure!
The service and food were very good. However, the speed at which we served was very poor. We were in a table near the front door and the noise levels were so high it was not possible to carry on a meaningful conversation. Having had a bad experience at the location downtown I was hoping to get a better experience at the original, however, the original didn't deliver.
Understood reservation was for Bob’s at the Omni. Hostess there was rude, in accommodating & told me Bob’s on Lemmon was four blocks away when it was over four miles away. After bad cab rides, food and service was great but restaurant was far too loud.
Always good and a must evening in every visit to Dallas
A little loud by the bar, but always delicious
Bob's is always my "go to" place when i want a great steak. It is consistently on the money and I have never been disappointed. The service is friendly and professional and Bob himself will be there to make certain your experience is lives up to your expectations. It's great to know that the person whose name is on the building, is there to back it up.
Great anniversary tradition
Food was outstanding. Server was very friendly and attentive but never checked back after the food came out. Highly recommend
Among the finest pieces of prime beef I have ever enjoyed. Our entire evening was relaxed and enjoyable. We were able to talk without shouting and our servers were handy but not hovering. I have nothing but high marks for this location.
So amazingly delicious!! Worth the splurge!
Every time I come to Dallas I have to come to Bob's. The service and food is quality.
A must do if you are in Dallas. Filet was just exceptional. Fried potatoes are good but ask for the gravy on the side... a bit much. Sautéed Spinach and mushrooms were delicious. Get the shrimp appetizer with the shrimp prepared three ways and don’t forget the bread pudding. Both were memorable.
Always fantastic food. Our go-to place for special occasions.
Uggg!! I waited to long to try Bob’s. Excellent across the board. My new go to steakhouse FOR SURE.
You can tell Bob has taken back over this location. Food was great and our server (Laura K.) was excellent.
First time to the original “Bob’s” location, loved it. The newer locations with modern decor are nice, but the ambiance and nostalgia of this location cannot be overlooked. As always, service is above and beyond. Food is worth every dollar. They make your dining experience exactly what you desire. Always a favorite!
This was probably the slowest and least attentive service I’ve had at Bob’s. My wife and I love coming here and everything is always top notch. The food this time was disappointing and we felt like we were oversold on something that didn’t come out as expected. It was over salted and much fattier than the server lead us to believe. The wine and sommelier were excellent and very helpful. Our reservation was at 8:30 and we weren’t seated until about 9. The dinner while not quick still took over an hour for our food to come out. The whole experience was just shy of four hours which is a little too long for two people for dinner.
Great food and service! Wonderful meal combination.
Great steaks, sides, and drinks. It's pricey but I think the food quality justifies it.
We were there NYE so service was a tad slow but not that big of a deal.
Creme brulee was too notch, too. I had the bone in filet. It was great but I'm going back to the bone in ribeye in the future. Much better value imo. The filet melts in your mouth but I can get almost two Ribeyes for that amount.
Anyway, great restaurant and great food overall
This place is a Dallas original. The owner was present on NYE. Very concerned about his diners. This is top notch dining, wine and service. Worth the price. A nice touch is all entrees come with a glazed carrot and a form of potato. Not so with other high end steakhouses.
We had family in from out of town. We have never been to this location of Bob’s on lemon Avenue. Chrissy our server was warm and attentive. The manager Allan came out and visited with us. The food was excellent. We will definitely be back to this location.
The food was delicious!
Awesome!! I had fun and steak is good!
Bob’ Stake was recommended. Immediately liked the ambience and decor when we walked in. The hostess seated us in a both. In a couple of minutes we received a loaf of house bread and the pickles and peppers sitting on the table. Server waited on us and was very professional. I ordered a glass of wine and your stuffed shrimp which were outstanding.
A bit later we ordered dinner and that is when a table of 5 adult guys were seated. Two of the individuals were obnoxious, loud and were oblivious to anyone or any party sitting close by. I was sitting with my daughter and I continually could not hear her in Normal tones because the table of 5 were so loud. A certain amount of loudness is anticipated sitting in a bar area but the table of 5 continued over the top loud, foul language and obnoxious. No server nor anyone On staff ask them to quiet down. Had I anticipated two loud boisterous loud months I would have ask to move. Our server never ask...’would you like to move to another table in the rear section of the restaurant” and she was very aware. She could hardly hear us or we couldn’t hear her when ordering.
The obnoxious table continued while we ate. Wr could not talk in normal stones.
We ask the server to move us to the bar for desert and we were accommodated at the bar. I would suggest we would be offered free dessert or after dinner drinks but our server was obviously. Not trained to ask the customer if he or sheWe had part of desert, I paid the bill with a 20% tip a left.
Inretrospect it would seem the manager should have been notified. Then ask us if we would like another table. That did not happen What should have been a great experience turned out to be a bad dining experience all because no one wanted to say anything to a table of 5 withe 2 obnoxious loud months
I m taking that time to write this comment in hopes that your server training improves and this unfortunate does not happen to anyone else and spoil what could have been a very n9ce evening
The food is always outstanding in a casual, comfortable atmosphere. We went on a Monday night and it was a full house.
Superb food and service!
We all ordered Filet Mignon. 4 orders.
It was a nice quality piece of meat but distroyed by the chef. Very overcooked and more then well done. Ordered medium rare.
Will advice to ask for raw meat maybe the chef will bring it to your table medium cocked.
Was a waste of good meat.
Great Food, Great Service
With Bob Sambol in the hiuse, everything is great!! A Dallas institution... been coming here for 25 years our experience was top notch. From the seating hostess to bartenders and Jody our very attentive, happy food server, and if course, Bob’s magical direction, It was an grand evening!!
Always love Bob’s, great meal every time. Only complaint is i wish they had some form of dress code. We sat next to two couples with guys in sweat suits and girls in... well technically cloths.
They had a GoPro and were shooting videos of each other the entire time. Cheapened the experience.
Bob's is always a treat. This was a repeat visit for one half of the party and a first time visit for the other half. Everyone was pleased. Excellent food. Attentive staff.
Great food and service! Will be back again.
My fiancé and I were in Dallas for business trip and needed a place to eat, our Airbnb host recommended this place! It was amazing! We had starters and split the Wagyu tomahawk steak! So good!!! It’s a lot of meat! Really cool place, I would recommending to others!
Laura was fantastic! Everything was great!
My Wife’s 30th Birthday!! Amazing Service from John Carlos and we even had the honor of Mr Bob himself check on our table but also took time out of his busy evening to take a picture with us!!
