We opened The 3rd BluWater Bistro location in the Leschi neighborhood on March 13, 2004. Mick McHugh handed the reigns over to us after 22 successful years of running the Leschi Lake Café. With a slight remodel we cozy'd up the place, added some fantastic rollback windows, high back booths, some flat screen TV's, and leather furniture by the fireplace. The menu reflects all the goodness that a cozy bistro should offer, including the ever famous & popular "Lake Side Café" Fish and Chips... gotta keep the neighborhood happy. Stop in for some brunch on the weekends or some late night food.

The service was unfriendly and unresponsive. One of our entrees had egg shells in it and we complained. Yet had to bring it up again. The server finally enquired with the manager. The manager then suggested that they take the drink off the bill (not the entree). It was bizarre! No apologies from the manager either.

Seemed like a good idea; take dad to lunch on the water. Patio was nice, altho noisy due to street noise. New server. Took forever to get our drinks, order our food, have the food served, and pay our bill. My chicken caprese sandwich was a disaster. Tough chicken, little flavor and dry bread. The chorizo bowl was fine, but only 3 crumbles of chorizo. Fish & chips was okay, except the fries were cool and wobbly. Probably won't go back any time soon.

When we were seated there were only a few diners besides us. We waited 5+ minutes and then had to ask an employee to see our server. She came and took our beverage order and had to come back 2 more times as she forgot to bring everything. We ordered our food and it came out one dish at a time with 5+ minutes between service. We were offered the wrong dish twice. A different person delivered each dish. One person in our party ordered the Avocado Scramble. It came with 1 slice of avocado? You would think that if the name of the dish is Avocado Scramble there might be some avocado included in the dish? We had to ask another employee to get refills on our beverages. After finishing our food we waited to get our check from our server. She seemed to have disappeared so I had to go find her to pay the bill.
Not a very good experience.

We came in just for dessert. It was very romantic. Other than a obnoxious couple nearby it was a very pleasant experience. Our server was also sweet and courteous. Would come back.

I love this place! Food, service and ambiance is perfect. The staff are always very nice about letting us linger over our food and even after when we have consumed everything. We come here regularly for these reasons.

Came here for Father’s Day and it was awful.
It took FOREVER to get our food, and when it came, it was one of the worst meals I’ve had at a restaurant.
The pizza I ordered came out before any other food. The appetizer came at the same time as the main meals. They made all of the Caesar salads using blue cheese dressing (yuck!) so those had to be sent back.
Burger was one of the worst I’ve ever seen. My sister in law barely ate half.
Prime rib dip was also one of the worst. Very bland. Pizza was a joke. I ate a few bites and took the rest to go and made it better myself the next day at home.
Only decent item was the wings, but I think all they did was slather them in store bought sweet chili sauce.
Our server was very apologetic and she did take a good amount of money off our bill.
I chose this place because they had a dock we could pull up to with our boat.
However, I will never be coming back. There are plenty of better lakeside dining establishments.

Father’s Day. It took over an hour for food to come. They did apologize and reduced our bill, which was much appreciated. The food, once we got it, was very good. Can’t beat the view. Server was nice enough to keep us posted and apologize throughout. She handled it well. Things happen.

In general, food was average and tasteless. Service was pretty good, although I don't understand why I can't order a cocktail off the menu without one of the ingredients. If a drink consists of 4 ingredients, is it really so hard to just omit one of the ingredients when making it? The waitress suggested an alternate drink which I ordered but the drink itself was pretty underwhelming. The only decent items were the steamed clams and Thai curry mussels; the "cheddar" fried cauliflower was completely tasteless. Ordered the ribeye steak which was the worst steak I've ever had - I even requested extra seasoning and the meat itself was tasteless. Not only was the steak tasteless, it was very tough (hard to cut even with the steak knife) and was basically served raw. So the steak tasteless, tough, and completely undercooked - what else is left? However, they were nice enough to take the entree off the bill since I barely touched the steak. I did order the Brownie Buzz dessert which was excellent. My colleague who ordered the fish tacos finished them but to me they looked pretty bland as well. I would say come if you're in the area and want to enjoy the view; just be aware that some of the food you end up getting will be average at best. This restaurant is easily a great candidate for Gordon Ramsay to help fix!

We had a reservation for brunch on mother’s day and really enjoyed the morning. It was busy, of course, but our server was fantastic. I loved not being rushed. It’s a very noisy venue which is great with three little ones (who are actually very well behaved, we received several random compliments on their behavior!). Not great for conversation in a larger group, be forewarned! The food is good, reliable, not excellent. I had crab eggs Benedict, one egg was overdone, the other perfect....but it was delicious. The best thing I ordered was a blackberry martini, scrumptious! The pancakes were lackluster, but huge and the French toast was delish but a small order, comparatively.

Mother’s Day. Service exceptionally slow. Server forgetful. Table number mix-up. Sat outside and weather was cold. Heater’s outside ineffective. Food was incredibly bland. Looked reheated. Tables and chairs poor quality. Not an enjoyable dining experience. Will not return. Will not recommend. Over-priced.

EXTREMELY disappointed in the fact that the menu was changed ONE DAY before our visit to eliminate prime rib, which I had been denied on our prior visit because it had “run out” (@ 6:30PM? That sounds like poor planning). This menu item is my favorite, and the main reason for the long drive from our home to Leschi. And please explain how you’re able to serve a prime rib sandwich, but not prime rib? It’s doubtful we’ll visit again, and we’ve been customers for many years. ☹️

BlueWater has been a long time favorite, and due to the location and in general friendly staff, it will continue to be. Breakfast/brunch continues to be really good, but dinner has not maintained the same level of quality they used to have. We sat outside on a beautiful sunny evening and had very little service. It was super busy inside so, not horrible, but not what I am used to experiencing here. The food was all rough. Curry muscles were a SUPER small portion and there was a huge "lump" of cooked cilantro in the middle of the bowl. Perhaps meant to to take up space it was not a positive addition, and we both like cilantro. Entree plates were both very dirty (greasy and fingermarks), fries were cold and old, and chicken for salad was "charred" past the point of flavor and was just burnt. I will come back, but will think twice about anything other than breakfast/brunch based on this experience.

We have been coming to the BluWater Birstro for over 30 years. Back when it was the Leschi Cafe. We had our first date here in 1987. And come every year that we can for our "first date" anniversary. We loved it then and we love it now. The food is great and the staff is wonderful and fun. It's usually very quiet but can be loud when families are there. We will keep coming as long as it is physically possible.
Please don't change!!

We have been to this restaurant before and had good experiences. This time was not a good experience. We were seated right away and provided water from a busboy then Waited over 2O minutes and no one came to take our order or provide coffee. We kept trying to get the attention of the waitress that seemed to be working the area. When she finally came to our table she said she wasn’t our waitress but she would help us. We felt like we were a burden to her. Won’t be going back again.

Have enjoyed meals here many times, but this occasion was a disappointment.
Was not given notice of the VERY limited menu and was extremely unhappy that we could not order Eggs Benedict. Our server was not very solicitous and did nothing to try and compensate for two very disappointed customers.
