My 2nd time here and the experience was just as good as the first. My son’s 12 birthday, the service was excellent, staff were very attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious.
The food is always fresh the service skilled and the room is busy and bubbly.
It used to have a good variety on the menu and be a special place to go for occasions. I was disappointed in menu change
Blue Ribbon is always a delightful experience. We split a porterhouse and it was perfect. Great wine list also.
Friendly, top-notch service from our server Angela, even with the restaurant being super-packed. Glad we made a reservation. The food and ambience made it well worth the upscale pricing, and our kids enjoyed the experience, as well. Fried chicken was exceptional. The special, a striped bass, was perfectly executed.
Very poor quality steak and no attempt to rectify the issue
Blue Ribbon is an amazing restaurant. The service and food are of the highest quality. Not only would I recommend Blue Ribbon to my most discerning friends, I am definitely dining there again.
Birthday man had a BALL!!
Sorry there’s no more bday singing.... we would have gone for alittle more ice cream BUT ... HE WAS HAPPY!!!
Thank you guys!!!
Missed Scarlet and Kelsun
But our waitress was wonderful and the gentleman she turned us over to did a nice job.....
A lovely restaurant, top-to-bottom, in a lovely neighborhood. Thoroughly enjoyed my evening.
Excellent meal - we shared a paella and a ribs appetizer. We had a wonderful waitress as well. Just a couple of complaints - it is rather loud - I'm wondering if some of it has to do with the acoustics. Also, I'm a big craft beer lover - just wish the selection had been somewhat better.
Staff was very friendly, seated immediately, appy's to entree's were very good. Crispy rice appetizer, seafood stew - perfect.
We started with the Lobster Mac & Cheese. Despite the bowl being super hot, the food was cold except for the bottom. Microwave? Its a shame because it cold have been really delicious otherwise. We were both happy with our main courses -- each $42. While good, not great. The ambiance was nice, the staff was pretty attentive. All in all, a nice night out but probably better restaurants in the area.
Very nice meal. It is not inexpensive so in some ways it was surprising to see so many small kids .
Great atmosphere and delicious food! Service was top notch!
We have been here often and recent menu change doesn't have us running back. The prices went up the food choices have been limited. Doubt I will return.
good and friendly service and tasty food, but OVERPRICED.
Super nice restaurant, great food and service! A Brooklyn Favorite.
A must try!!
The food is fine—but no better; kind of routine. It’s expensive for what you get, the service is chaotic (and obtrusively rushed), and tables are incredibly close together. There are many better dining experiences in the area.
Great as usual. Everybody who works here is very professional. Food and service were awesome. Tomato soup appetizer was superb. Blackened catfish and fried chicken entrees were delicious. And the bar makes the best martinis! Consistently the best place in the neighborhood.
I had a 200 dollar coupon from open table and the restaurant was more than happy to accept it and give us great service and food. Love this place. Best fried chicken in the world. Best oysters too. Great time. Every time.
Good food but a bit pricey Location in Brooklyn easier to get in....
We celebrated our 45 Anniversary at Blue Ribbon on Saturday. It was our first time there and we were not dissapointed. We had a very good time. The food and drinks were good, we especially enjoyed the appetizers. The energy was high and the staff was outstanding. They made us feel like family. We highly recommend Blue Ribbon and will return.
It just seems like they were short of staff.
Incredibly helpful and nice waitress!
We were early for our reservation but they sat us right away .
Food was exceptional as I hoped. Only downside was the service was extremely slow for the level of tables occupied.
The food and service were excellent. I thought however the deserts were extremely over priced.
We've eaten here a few times and always had a great experience. Not sure what was going on Sunday night, but 3 of our part of 5 received their food in a somewhat timely fashion, but the other 2 did not. Our server never checked on us nor noticed that 2 had not received their food. Eventually the hostess/manager came over to apologize and told us that my rice bowl would be out shortly and 5 more minutes for the fried chicken. I finished my rice bowl (after everyone else had eaten) and the fried chicken did not come out for another 20 minutes which we had to take home with us because we had to go.
I'm really disappointed in how our situation was handled. They comp'd our food, but really, if the staff had been paying attention to us and giving us updates on what was going on, we would have been fine. We normally love this place, but not sure when/if we'll return any time soon.
The food is great the service is amazing , Our server Sarah is exceptional she is very knowledgeable and friendly ,
So good every time.
Try the paella y’all! Two of us shared one with half lobster. Spicy chicken sausage, mussels, clams, shrimp, squid and more. It was spicy delicious. So big we brought left overs home. Service, as always, was friendly, professional and super nice.
Love this place! Food and service are top notch. The seafood platter always delights. Thank you for another wonderful evening.
The best baking and the texture was amazing. Rib eye was great taste. I’ll definitely come back.
I love a good dinner & don’t mind paying the price, but we had the grilled octopus overpriced and with one small octopus tentacles over saturated bed of well seasoned potato- that’s a no no for me! Please don’t minimize your patron knowledge - we know how much octopus cost and I can cook - $20+ for one tentacle - u lost a customer! Inflation is not an excuse - we are all affected!
We haven't been to Blue Ribbon for years, and it was great to be back. We just needed a nice meal after a long day, and Blue Ribbon delivered. The staff was excellent from start to finish; the host was great, our server was great, the runner was great. Everybody had a smile, nice comments, knew about the food. This isn't necessarily the case any more. The food was outstanding. I had the bavette (steak) special, which I loved. My wife and her mother had the cod, which they devoured. My son had the kid's penne, which came out really quickly, thankfully, as he was starving. I really can't wait to go back.
Good place for a decent meal. Steak was good, roast chicken was well cooked if a little bland. The restaurant is a bit loud, so not great for a romantic meal. The service was pretty good. I would go back.
Food was great. Their were a lot of families during my visit and a lot of kids and crying. I would go again.
I have mixed feelings regarding our dining experience at Blue Ribbon. Our hostess was bubbly and engaging. Our Waiter was so helpful and made us feel comfortable and well tended to. Unfortunately, it was the food that was underwhelming. We were expecting destinctive flavors from the apps and main selections we ordered, but the food was rather non-descript.
The main entree of Codfish was supposed to be the star of the dish, but the flavor was muted by a mixture of chickpeas, veggies and broth that drowned out the fish, leaving it as a "pip" and not the "Glaydys Knight" it was supposed and should have been.
The other elements of the dining experience were good, but the dishes we ordered just didn't make the night special as we had hoped. (And believe me, the menu is not on the "economic side") Maybe had we ordered a different set of apps and entree's our experience would have been better but, from my dining point of view, the overall dinner was just.....Pedestrian.
Blue Ribbon does not disappoint. Years ago I ate some fabulous meals at the Manhattan places. We recently moved to Prospect park, and gave this one a shot. It’s the very best meal we’ve had in the hood. Service was spotty (one great waitress, one not so good). But the meal was perfection (perfect martini, oysters, shishito peppers, seafood stew, catfish). This will become our neighborhood fave!
