Food was excellent! Service was a bit slow, maybe because of Saturday dining; but that could be improved by having more servers on the weekends!

No liquor license - not a big deal for me, but BYOB. Lobster Bisque, ran Cakes, and Short Ribs. All very good. We will return to eat there again.

Hadn't been to Black Lab in some time and really enjoyed our food last night. Appetizers and main courses both delicious!

Thank you.

We were apart of three. We booked early when they first opened. By 6 pm the tables were nearly full. The room has high ceilings and metal pan tiles, so the noise picked up with the crowd. Food arrived hot and was promptly served. We loved the lobster bisque and the acorn squash ravaolis. The cranberry relish on the ravaolis was excellent. The scallops were tender and perfectly cooked. We enjoyed the window one the street as it added to the feeling of warmth and activity for the town.

The food is fantastic and they are the nicest people. Their daughter even helps out from time to time and she is just precious. One of my favorite spots for dinner and brunch.

We both enjoyed the Maine Lobster Bisque. My husband had the filet, and I had the crab cakes. Both were outstanding! I took home a piece of carrot cake for dessert. It was a small piece, but delicious. We will definitely return in the future

One of my favorite BYOB restaurants. We shared the duck spring rolls which were crisp and delicious as the duck didn’t disappear amongst the other ingredients. We also shared the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken entree as an appetizer and it was rich, creamy and flavorful with pasta cooked perfectly. Finally, the duck breast and scallop entree was served with mashed potatoes and this was an excellent dish. My wine of choice with all this goodness was a 2014 Hall Darwin Syrah. I doubt this is on any wine list and it was wonderful with all the food. Ah, the advantages of a great BYOB.

We had guests from out of town visiting and everyone loved their food. The service was excellent and with its BYOB status, our wine connoisseur could bring his preferred bottles.

First time there, not bad, everything just OK. Ravioli was good but very small, filet
was very small and over cooked, dessert very average. First time we haven't had leftovers in years probably

Very enjoyable evening of dining outside on sidewalk under the moon in Phoenixville at this BYOB. Nice variety on menu. Boneless spare ribs were delicious. Dessert of chocolate flourless cake was tasty. Service was attentive. Will recommend to friends.

Food was delicious from the lobster bisque to the pumpkin cheesecake. Server, I believe, was by herself for the whole restaurant and did a wonderful job. Of course we had to wait a bit but how can you complain when she is running around doing her best and the wait wasn’t even bad. Highly recommend when you want a step up from the brewery options and still a decent price because BYOB.

I made reservations for 4 at 8 p.m. When we arrived we asked to sit outside and the hostess was gracious and accommodated us almost immediately. The acoustics inside is loud outside was quiet. Our server was excellent and the bus person to. They had a very busy night but our appetizers came quickly and were excellent. The entrees were all delicious. We never order desert but this was a special occasion so we did and once again were very satisfied. I would recommend this restaurant and would return.

We've eaten at the Black Lab Bistro twice in the past 2 months, and both times the food has been excellent. Service was a little slow but that's to be expected in today's world. The owners are friendly and accommodating.

Honestly I want to start by saying I totally understand that there is an employment shortage and most places don’t have enough staff. When you go out to eat most places you expect to have to wait and that is understood. That being said- the service was awful and the food was equally disappointing. Most entrees are served with mashed potatoes and a sparse portion of undercooked broccoli. Our meal was luke warm and seemed like it was either pre cooked and reheated or sitting under a heat lamp for hours. Not sure what happened to this place it used to be an incredible little byob.

The food was great! It's a BYOB and we didn't know it so I walked a few blocks to buy a bottle of wine - no big deal. Just remember to bring your own drinks. The first course was wonderful, the main courses great (Chicken piccata, squash raviolis and short rib and the dessert were great (cinnamon roll with ice cream and crème brulee). We will be back.
