Wonderful service and food. The service was next level and had a down to earth atmosphere.

Consistently outstanding. Much more convenient than driving into DC and the food is excellent. When out of town guests come we always take them to L'Hermatige.

I feel like my waitress was rude, in the beginning/ and kinda afraid to serve my table, probably though we weren’t not going to tip him, properly- once he drop the check “which he was in a rush to get it back” when he find out we gave him 25% tip- he’s attitude completely change.

I loved this place! Tried their chef's choice option so was able to try several items off the menu and loved them.

Always a treat to have Sunday Brunch here! Carlos is the ultimate waiter, and the rest of the staff gets our high praise. Love the food & social distancing. It is one of the places where we feel very safe during this COVID era. Smoked salmon, mussels & lava cake are always Barry's choices. I love the lobster bisque, strip steak & lemon meringue tart. Complimentary brut rose is a happy way to begin the feast. Bordeaux to accompany the steak. 2 big cups of cappuccino to finish. Cannot wait to return!

My favorite restaurant in DC area

It was a disappointing NYE I’m afraid. Felt very rushed and, particularly for the money, the 3 courses was skimpy, and the food blander and less spectacular than on our past visits. We even wondered if the chef had changed. Plus, not for nothing, charging for sparking water is unheard of in my experience at this level of dining. Not sure we will be back, which makes us sad.

Great dining experience. Will definitely return soon.

This restaurant is wonderful. I went out of the way to find a place that was COVID appropriate and the service, food and ambiance were amazing. A wonderful Bistro setting with impeccable service. I am looking forward to returning for dinner.

We had a reservation for 6pm on Christmas and we were seated promptly after we arrived. The table was set beautifully and the ambiance was warm. They were serving a special dinner menu, but accommodated our kids with steak and fries even though it was not on the menu. Service was perfectly timed and the server was friendly. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. This is a wonderful place for a special evening out. I would highly recommend it and hope to visit again soon.

We had an amazing Christmas dinner in the lovely cozy little outdoor “chateau” built for Covid safety but with all the high quality you expect at the Bistro, complete with chandeliers, skylights, and impeccable service. As we ate our delicious meal, it started to lightly snow. A truly gorgeous experience in every sense.

Dennis provided superb service as usual. The lamb was perfection. It was good to see Boone again. We will see you soon.

Love the restaurant. Lots of menu items are very good, but as a whole food is uneven. The charm of the place is the service. The wait staff is flawless. The owner spares no cost in their support. They have assistants to cover every need from utensils to water. The whole staff anticipates every diner’s need. The dining room is comfortable in every way. For me, dining here is as satisfying as can be.

One can always rely on the deliciousness of any food offering. Also the ambiance is second to none.

My husband and I celebrated Christmas Eve, limited to their set menu...would have liked to have choice but understood why that was too inconvenient.

Only quibbles:
sweet potato au gratin was not terribly done but neither was it amazing and basically just meh, standing out as such against so many really superb dishes including my perfectly cooked steak and husband’s amazing chocolate mousse.

Waiter was slightly condescending in his guidance (practically telling me how I should cook my steak vs asking ... for the record he said “steak medium rare, right?” And as we never ate there, that’s a bold assumption that also happens to be true. Same with my husband’s order, basically told him to get veal and sausage entree, which he liked but I believe he would have liked others more however he’s indecisive and just “went along”

We celebrated our 51st Anniversary there. We were so pleased that the staff took very good care to keep us safe during the pandemic. We were so impressed with the extra measures they took to ensure our wellbeing and enjoyment of our time there. The food was excellent. Our waiter was efficient, friendly and attentive. It was a superb experience and I would highly recommend it to others.

My wife and I celebraterated her birthday and we were very impressed by the ambiance and the food. The service was impeccable!!!
