The food as well as customer service was absolutely stellar.
Hostesses were rude and unaccommodating. Despite an empty restaurant, it took nearly 20 minutes before a server helped us. After finally being helped by our server, he was friendly and apologetic. The manager took care of the bill and was extremely professional. Food was impressive.
Our first time here and it was pleasant. The brunch menu food portions were small and were ok as far as flavor goes. The chicken and waffles were no different than anywhere else, the Bloody Mary drink had too much horseradish. I’d like to give it another try maybe for lunch or dinner.
Our server was excellent! The food was delicious as always too. We did have a slight issue was some guests who got a bit rowdy in the bar.
Amazing place to eat.
We are frequent visitors from Dallas that come here on weekends at time and we are never disappointed. Absolutely wonderful and service was amazing. Food was amazing and coffee always fresh and delicious.
It was very quiet. Didn’t need to make a reso honestly, but did and we were treated very well. Except the hostess didn’t read the notes that this was a birthday reservation and this is our favourite brunch spot that we will willingly drive from Dallas to dine at. So that was disappointing. Other than that. Everything was okay. Server was great.
The service was really uneven. It took 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive and we were pushed to order our dinner very shortly after we were seated. My wife's soup was not warm at all. Overall we were disappointed. It's sister in Dallas, The Meddlesome Moth, is much better.
Awesome food & location
Excellent brunch spot. The food is great, some standards along with some new creative additions whenever we visit. Good cocktails, the carafes are very worthwhile.
Loved the food and our server was awesome - his name was Zach!
This was my first time dining at Bird Cafe and it was a nice experience. I went there for brunch and look forward to going back for dinner. Keleyn, our waiter was very pleasant and made our first time there an enjoyable culinary experience! The French press coffee is wonderful.
This was my second time eating at the Bird Cafe, and I came back because it was so good the first time! And I was not disappointed. The Rabbit pot pie was delicious and so filling. And that was after the cheese spread appetiser and the warm salad. Everything was exceptional, including the service. I will be back. :)
Took forever to get our food. Coffee is weak and peculiar. Derek was a great server but again, the wait time was pretty poor. Overall, our experience was just okay.
Food and service was great!! Bloody Mary was amazing!!
Great food and service. Also enjoyed the design and architecture of the building.
We stopped in and needed to get out quick. After a short delay, we ordered appetizers, which were very good. In and out in about 40 minutes, which was longer than we had hoped, but it worked out OK. Will return.
Danielle was a great server. She made our time there very pleasant. Thanks, Danielle!!
Great atmosphere service and food. Looking forward to going again.
We were very surprised and disappointed in the very small portions for the expense. No sides are included, which would have helped. No bread, salad or vegetable. The flavors were nothing special either. We will not go back and will not recommend it.
Unique and delicious food and atmosphere, outstanding service, Bird Cafe is one of our favorite places to dine before attending theater in downtown Fort Worth.
Server was fantastic, however food was extraordinarily slow in coming out, and then we had to wait over 20 minutes between dinner and dessert because there was an incident in the kitchen?? Was very strange. This was a theater night so there was a big rush at the time we were there, but nothing that Bird Cafe shouldn't have been used to. Next time we go before a show, we'll sit at the bar simply to be closer to the kitchen. Is a great place even tho this one time was a miss.
Food was creative and tasty for brunch. Unfortunately, lost my appetite when I went upstairs to the only men’s bathroom to wash hands before eating and the only toilet was over flowing and disgusting. More hourly checks need to be implemented when you have a bathroom that small for THREE floors of food service....ridiculous!
The food was fantastic! The fried quail was lightly crispy with a beer batter of some kind, and very tender and flavorful. The grits were pretty good, but did get cold rather quickly. The house made hummus is also good, with plenty of garnish.
My server, Lis, was absolutely fantastic!!!
The issue however, lies with the ordering of dessert. My server took down my order for a double chocolate chip brownie, no ice cream, correctly. She repeated it back to me verbatim and sent it in. However, another person brought it out to the table, and it was not the way it was ordered. I told this server it was not correct; he asked how was it supposed to be done; I told him "that's on the ticket" that either the kitchen did not read or you did not check before bringing it out. Take it back, I don't want it."
My original server became very busy, which is fine. But the other server apparently made no effort to check the order for accuracy at the pass before bringing it to the table. This should not happen in a restaurant of this caliber. This is not a Chili's, nor an Applebee's type restaurant. Used to come here a lot a few years ago before my wife passed, and decided to finally give it a try for the first time since then.
Again, no issues with Lis and her outstanding service, or the food quality. But there was obviously a breakdown somewhere else that really compromised the overall experience.
Excellent experience. The only negative was the timing on service, though I understand because there were a number of people heading to the theater and the wait staff was making sure they were taken care of first. We weren't in a hurry, so it didn't really matter. Great atmosphere - quiet enough to easily chat across the table. Had the shrimp and grits which had a little heat, more than I expected based on the questions I asked the waitress, but still not atrocious. My companion had the redfish and she was very happy. All in all, a lovely experience and we'll likely return.
The whole experience was amazing! Homer was knowledgeable and gracious. Loved the decor!
We eat here ALL THE TIME. Always get the Flight of the Honey Bee. The food never disappoints!
Love bird cafe! Great food and drinks!
Elizabeth was a very helpful waitress - had good recommendations- engaging - great smile
Menu was nice. My own meal (redfish) was raw and cold. Had to be sent back. Was run out by another member of waitstaff and dropped without asking if it was satisfactory or acknowledging of the issue. Spent $168 for two people. Wasn’t expecting anything in terms of a discount, but an acknowledgement or a simply, “sorry about that” would have been nice.
We came on a weekday night, no crowds and only one waiter for the entire restaurant. Extremely short handed and short sighted on management's part. When we did get time with the waiter, he was well informed, very pleasant and helped us choose our meals. My wife enjoyed her steak and Brussel sprouts special for the night, the wife of my friend had the same meal with same results. However, my Arctic Char was almost tasteless. I am very familiar with this fish, it was over cooked and rendered a sad lump topping a squash puree. The puree was tasteful, but that should not have been the highlight of my meal. I would rate the food this night pedestrian at best. There are too many good restaurants in Fort Worth to spend an evening wanting.
Great food and perfect service. We come here often and are never disapointed.
GREAT LOCATION! Food pricey and just OK. Free champagne at New Years and right in the center of Sundance Square.
We ate there for New Years Eve and did the fixed menu but our items did not come out in order. Salads before the starter etc. I had duck with risotto and my duck was good but the risotto was undercooked. This was our second visit. The service was great both times. But our foos was better the first time we went.
We enjoyed our New Year’s Eve dinner at Bird Cafe!! Service was outstanding, setting is always fabulous. We have eaten at BC two times this month- we dined at Bird Cafe years ago, and did not enjoy then. Neighbor shared with us that they have a new chef- and it shows!- the menu, and food is much improved!! We had the deviled egg appetizer, catfish entree and for dessert, the pecan pie with chocolate and Mexican vanilla ice cream- the appetizer was yummy, the catfish was good- plenty for us to split- maybe a little dry... but, the jalapeño sauce that accompanied it was tasty. And dessert was delish!!! Arrives hot in a small cast iron skillet- 3 people shared, and we had some left over.
We dined inside on this occasion - little tight in the center seats getting bumped by server and guest traffic. We ate outside on the patio last time (over the Thanksgiving Holiday), and there are ample heaters and great people watching with views of the square!
Great as usual. Wynn, our server was amazing!
Brunch was delicious. Our waiter was attentive. It was quiet enough to easily have conversations. We enjoyed it!
We had been here before, food was better & service was better. Grits were awful, some of our food was cold & expensive. Good location & good atmosphere, service & food needs tweaking. Won’t go back.
We had a very merry Christmas dinner. The food was very good, the service was quite good, albeit a bit slow. The hummus was excellent, and the roasted chicken was quite tasty.
I have been to the Bird Cafe often, and they do not disappoint. It is a very pleasing place, with a varied menu.
