Benihana - Manhasset
Unfriendly service, orders wrong and unreasonable wait for food. Tables are way too close together. Has really gone downhill since the last time we ate there several years ago.
Habachi Shrimp and Chicken nicely done. Portion was adequate. Always enjoy watching the food be prepared by the grill expert.
Always a cheery and wonderful place to dine for small gatherings or larger groups. The staff is attentive and the food is tasty. Parking is also very convenient.
We were seated with someone allergic to shrimp and this changed all the cooking dynamic without the Chef warning us. That made people uncomfortable.
Our hostess was excellent. She helped us celebrate my daughter's birthday and made sure I got my two takeout orders. Our chef was fabulous the food delicious
Was a very nice meal for my family. The service and food were excellent !!
Chef was very uninviting. He had no presence, his interaction with the customers at the table was very poor. He didn’t seem like he wanted to be there. The food wasn’t as good as it usually is. When we come to Benihana, we come for the experience as well as the food. Both were a bit disappointing.
Good food, pleasant cef
Service was very good and food was delicious
Food is great I've been going there over 30 year's
Love this place. So friendly. Great staff and managers!
Very noisy , lots of kids running around . No plastic cups for my toddler , juice was served in a glass cup . She’s 2yrs old. Our chef didn’t do anything special w the food. Overall it was overpriced for the service .
I to and like Benihana a lot but found it to be a little dirty this time.
The chef was not talkative and personable! The experience was so so.
Normally we eat in Florida’s Benihana restaurants. During our stay in NYC we drove one hour to Manhasset just for eating there.
Let’s make it short:
The Service was attentive. That’s the good. We had 3 children birthday parties around us and I don’t need to tell you how loud it was. Chow our Chef at the table was totally uninvolved. He also spiced ALL dishes too weak. For the first time at Benihana I got a tough beef. Only the shrimps were ok. Too bad.
Waited about 45 minutes with reservations. Service was slow and hibachi show was boring.
Family enjoy the food and the service, I been an customer of this location for many years my kids loved the atmosphere.
The chef we had was Terrible. He had no personality. He dried out the food he put the scallops and chicken on first and then cooked everything after and they were on the longest. By the time I got my scallops they were dry. I almost had him turn them back if I wasn’t so hungry. He did not even talk to us the whole time we were there .
All food or drinks are delicious ....
AmaZing food and service
We love Benihana!
My grandchildren eat very well here which is the only reason I go! The restaurant needs a good cleaning—especially the bathrooms. And the service is always very rushed. The waitress kept asking for our dessert order while we were obviously no where near done with our food. I actually had to ask her to go away until we called her! It’s not cheap here, so let people eat in peace!
Excellent teppanyaki table hibachi with gracious, friendly service.
The service was very bad. We had at 4pm reservation and we were seated at about 4:05pm. Ok that was perfect but we sat at the table for over 20 minutes before someone came to the table. After 15 minutes waiting, I asked someone for water. Then she said she’ll find out waitress. A waiter came over about 7 minutes later to take our drinks order. Later a waitress came to take our order. Then the chef took over 40 minutes to come to our table. I was very disappointed in the service. I’ll never go back to that location again.
Kary was great! My girlfriend and I felt special. She was on point with everything; she brought our drinks on time, always had a smile on her face, she was friendly, patient, and helpful!
We had an opentable reservation for a
Table for 16 on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 4:00 pm. We were seated across both sides of the table. Half one table was shared with other guests. The table with the other guests the chef was far superior to the other table. The table with the sub par chef was also getting orders incorrectly and arguing with our guests.
Our favorite place to celebrate birthdays, graduations, and anniversaries
Always a fun show and experience. Great for groups around the chef cooking and entertaining.
This was the first time my whole family and I were at this location. The atmosphere was exciting and comforting. Our server was courteous and kind. Drinks were always filled without being asked and we were always asked if we needed anything else. The main attraction came out and our chef was funny, kind, and professional. The food was prepared wonderfully and tasted amazing. It was plenty of food for the amount we paid. Afterwards we drank tea and were served ice cream. The end didn’t end there where our server asked for a picture. We were made to feel like we were the celebrities. Overall a great time and we will be back for more good times. The only hitch was the parking as finding a spot was challenging because it’s in a shopping complex so there is a lot of people competing for a spot. Other than that a great time and food was had at Benihana.
I worked in Benihana's in Jensen Beach, Florida area a long time ago... The quality of service and skill set of the chefs were amazing. I am sorry to say, but this was a huge disappointment. Though I am sure the 11-year-old kids did not notice. I sure did.... Sorry.
Everything was good except that the food was given to us like if they wanted us to leave we ordered appetizers and they weren’t out yet when the chef started cooking so every thing was giving at the same time
The atmosphere was upbeat and festive with numerous birthday parties. The food was delicious and it was fun
to mingle with other people around the oblong table. I
highly recommend this establishment for small birthday
parties and family gatherings.
Everything was great. My only flaw was that our chef wasn’t the best at doing tricks. So overall 8.5/10.
I took my mom for Mother’s Day!! She loved it!!
A crowded mess when we arrived at our reservation time - took about 30 minutes to be seated (Mother's Day weekend.) Had a tasty appetizer at the sushi bar. When seated, the Benihana experience is about 12 people around a rectangular table / cooking surface and one chef for the table. Food portions are huge and food is nicely prepared and enjoyable if you don't have any particular dietary restrictions. A good portion of the room was birthday parties with the accompanying mandatory celebrations. You'll come out stuffed and maybe amused by the carnival atmosphere but a little jittery as if you've had too much caffeine.
It’s getting dirty here. Our menus were covered in other people’s old, sticky food and the whole restaurant needs a deep clean. Makes me nervous about food stations and handling. Our drinks came after the soup was already delivered which is a huge no-no for the price of this dinner. We go here every year for my sons birthday and despite my negative comments above we always have a good time. The hibachi chefs do a great job of entertaining our crowd and we all walk away very full.
Overall this iconic institution has declined in all aspects. It has been a long standing tradition of 40 plus years celebrating birthdays and it is sad to see it lose its appeal. This will be our last visit.
Good food and fun. The kids had fun.
