Maple-Miso Chilean Sea Bass
wasabi mashed potatoes, baby spinach, tamari-ginger sauce
almond basmati rice, parmesan- arugula, cherry tomatoes, roasted red pepper sauce
All was good. Crispy oysters were fantastic as was the short rib. Others loved the halibut and the bronzino.
The food was amazing. The drink as well; I had the tequila pomegranate drink - delicious!
The food was very good. We particularly liked the burrata salad and the sea bass (the creamy sauce with the sea bass seemed a bit over the top, but the fish itself was very good).
We chose this restaurant because they offer reservations for outside seating. The ambiance in the backyard was nice but they held a 50-person rehearsal dinner in the same space, and our table was less than 10 feet away from the party. Very awkward and annoying. Showed little care for outside diners. Menu was interesting, with a mix of different and familiar. Some entrees in our order were well prepared and tasty. Our flat iron steaks were served rare, when we ordered medium. And the blue cheese on top was a little too strong and did not complement the meat at all. The quaint location, warm ambiance, and interesting menu give this restaurant a lot of potential, but it missed the mark a little bit in execution during our visit.
Very good food, well prepared. Service was excellent and friendly.
Bazin's provides consistently high quality, delicious food that is beautifully presented. The wait staff is incredibly in tune with your table, and they know when you need privacy and when you need their attention. I highly recommend this wonderful gem of a restaurant!!
I had not been to Bazin’s since Feb 2020 and was excited to go back. I am hoping it was just a bad night but the food, service and experience was not what I was used to. The food was okay not at all like before and the portions were definitely smaller which was disappointing. I will give it one more try because I really enjoyed this spot in the past.
Enjoyed the outdoor seating … nearby children raised the noise level but indoors at Bazin’s has always been very noisy so it wasn’t a problem. Plan to return to the outdoor venue before it’s too cold. Gazpacho with shrimp = excellent! One diner’s crab meat spring roll appetizer was also excellent. Another diner’s pork chop entree was so-so, but that’s typical of pork chop (what was I thinking?) Disappointed that no bread is available, maybe it will return later. Hoping Bazin’s lunch service also returns later when staffing improves. We live in Vienna and endorse Bazin’s!
The restaurant was not busy at all, which was nice. Our waitress was very patient; we had not seen each other since before the pandemic, so we had a lot of catching up to do. The pomegranate Paloma was a great way to start the meal.
We had the crab spring roll appetizer, which was excellent but small. The linguine with shrimp and scallops special was a great dish, scallops well browned and shrimp nicely cooked. Both are easy to over cook and they were both perfectly cooked. The sauce was superb; too much pasta but that was not really the point of the dish, was it? The pesto rubbed halibut was delicious. The orzo, tomato basil sauce and baby spinach combined for an enjoyable meal.
The fried apple pie was delectable; there are two so you can share! The espresso martini was a great swap for a coffee, frothy which was different from other espresso martinis we'd had in the past.
All in all, a great meal with excellent service.
Everything was absolutely amazing
Appetizers were lukewarm, almost as if they were warmed up in a microwave. I had the branzino and it was decent, although the temperature of the plate could’ve been warmer. My husband had the steak; the red wine sauce tasted bitter and ruined his dish. Staff was very nice.
Excellent food and service
Always wonderful food & service!! Never had a bad meal here! So happy they are thriving again after everything restaurants went through with the pandemic!
Bazin's is one of my favorite restaurants. I have never had a bad meal. Only excellence. Each meal or appetizer seems to be an exclusive blend of Bazin's chefs. The service is always superb. And, it;s not noisy. I love their outside setup of tables since the pandemic. Spacious seating and the outdoor ambience works for me.
Try the Blood Orange Margarita. It's really good.
Chef did a wonderful job creating a variety of flavors in our appetizers, but our fish was overcooked and our filet mignon was a bit chewy. Cocktails were excellent. The hostess mindlessly seated us very close to another table and immediately adjacent to the front door even though the restaurant was half empty and had plenty of space. We noticed that the hostess mindlessly attempted to seat next party of two after us in the same table with the same result-- the couple asked to be moved. Our waitress however was excellent and listened and offered helpful suggestions.
Although the outdoor seating is in the parking lot in the back of the restaurant it is extremely well lit and energetic. Our waiter Eric was extremely attentive and we so enjoyed our meal. My husband had the halibut and I had the crispy bronzini--DELISH.
We also enjoyed the chicken empanadas, spring rolls and grilled romaine salad. Desert was also yummy. Fried apple pie and strawberry shortcake. Loved it will definitely return.
We had a great family get together on the lovely patio at Bazins. The food was exceptional and service very friendly. Their outdoor dining space is great.
Ordered pork chop that was significantly undercooked, so we sent it back and they brought out the same pork chop reheated and still undercooked. Our server was excellent and comped us the pork chop and dessert as he agreed it was significantly undercooked. We sat outside and the noise level was very high. Overall not a great experience for a Friday night out but I do appreciate the server going out of his way to make up for things out of his control.
Great nite out and food and service were just as great!
It was a thoroughly well managed dining environment. The waiter was attentive but not intrusive. The dining outside was well done, tables spaced apart and privacy retained in European-like setting .
Consistently good food and service. Nice atmosphere. Great for dinner with friends.
The food was just ok for the price. I spent $32 on Halibut and it arrived overcooked. Apps w crab and lobster lacked flavor and were jammed w filler
Chilean Sea Bass and Braised Short Ribs were really delicious.
Opting for Covid safety we ate outdoors on the makeshift patio, which had little ambience but where the tables were well spaced.
Our waitress was outstanding. She recommended a very good Rose' from the wines by the glass, based on her prior tasting. Her service was perfect (i.e., attentive but not hovering).
For the meal (dinner), we started with gazpacho that had a nice hint of spice at the end. One of us ate Bronzino and the other a shrimp and scallop pasta dish. Both were very good. We finished with an interesting strawberry shortcake made with a crisp pastry dough and chantilly cream. At the end of the meal we had a chat with the delightful Julie, one of the owners.
We have eaten here multiple times and always enjoyed the experience.
The Food and presentation are the best I’ve had! I keep coming back and I am never disappointed. Thank you for another great dinner!
Had friends from out of town and wanted to have an evening dinner out. We wanted to dine inside but they only offered outside. Fortunately, the temp cooled and the evening was delightful. Food excellent - miso sea bass and special halibut.
Service was a little too “casual” than I would have liked.
Overall, a very good choice for Vienna dining!!!
The outdoor area is amazing. Of course I enjoy sitting indoors but on a nice day the outdoor area they have set up is a great experience.
The service and atmosphere were great, but the food was unfortunately bland...
Another fantastic evening at Bazin’s! Everything was superb. We loved celebrating our anniversary with amazing food and service.
The parking lot below the restaurant is tiny and was full. It was easy to find street parking. We reserved a table in the back patio and they were able to seat us quickly. Initial service lagged a bit but I expected it since we are in a pandemic. Once our server got to us it was a wonderful experience. The food was great. Overall a great experience.
Wow what a great meal no misses and I’m picky. Will be back!
Very good experience although I suggest parking on the street as the garage is tight.
Good outdoor dining space. Our server was really nice and attentive, but he wasn’t wearing a mask.
Excellent presentation, delicious food and great service. What a wonderful experience!!!
The outdoor patio was set up well. Server was super attentive, atmosphere was wonderful, and the food and beverages were delicious.
We ate in the tented area even though the heavy rains from Ida poured down earlier. The table and seating were fine just some puddles on the patio. But this was easily forgotten by the excellent service and food. Our party of 4 chose the crab cake spring roll and smoky, spicy, cheesy chicken empanadas-both delicious. We each ordered different entrees including linguine with shrimp and scallops, tomato risotto, flat iron steak, and roast chicken. All diners were clean plate club members that evening. We indulged ourselves with key lime pie and fried apple pie.
A thoroughly enjoyable dinner under a dry tent.
outstanding restaurant, delicious food, we will defenitly go back, there was just one little detail missing, I asked for the candle in the dessert for the Birthday girl, and unforunatelly it didn't happen and her Birthday wasn't even mention;-( It means no one reads customers messages.
All went well and it was a pleasant experience.
Food was fantastic and service was great as well.
Good food. Good atmosphere. We’d return for dinner or lunch.
