Went for restaurant week and liked every single dish. Great cocktails too!
It was a great experience and the waitress was really nice and super helpful. The octopus was great too.
We were seated in a cute, little pod out on the street. It was cozy and COVID safe, but a little stuffy with poor air flow. Our server was attentive and enthusiastic! We had delicious cocktails...a Negroni and a Basil Lemonade. We started with the Chicken Liver + Foie Gras Mousse, which was divine and then we shared the Spring and Roasted Beet salads. Both salads were refreshing, earthy and dressed perfectly! For our main course we shared the Estrella and Grilled Spanish Octopus. The Estrella was cooked wonderfully al dente and the octopus was a nice accompaniment to it as it was more fresh and salad-like. All of this was enjoyed with a nice, chilled bottle of sparkling Lambrusco! Overall, a great experience! Highly recommend!
Quick service. Good food.
The food was creative and tasty. and nice presentation.
The kale beet salad was short on the beets, oranges and pistachios. Beets need to be larger and taste more roasted. They were watery and small.Too heavy on the kale.
Meatballs were very tasty.Sauce had a mild zing.
Ricotta cheese appetizer was interesting, but not particularly flavorful. Perhaps a chunkier fig inclusion would be more satisfying and the ricotta not whipped into a puree.
Bronzini was interesting, fish was tasty, but the pea, radish, fennel, asparagus accompaniment not my cup of tea.
Would have enjoyed sides of a flavorful potato creation, or rice and vegetable.
Terrible service, they were clearly in a hurry to kick us out. Good food but the service and ambiance destroys the experience. Went a few years ago, won’t be coming back
Our waiter was incredibly rude and unhelpful. While we love Barbuzzo, the service tonight was so subpar we will not return.
Amazing dinner. Great vibes. Great food. Great service.
Dinner was delicious as always and the servers are always friendly and excellent!
My wife’s meal came out, and after 5-7 minutes, tracked down the server to ask where my meal was.
It would have been better to bring both at the same time.
We love Barbuzzo and have been many times over the years. The food is outstanding and we love the experience however tonight’s service was subpar. Our server just didn’t have the typical Barbuzzo gusto and it left us disappointed for our first date out in a long time.
We will be back at Barbuzzo but will steer clear of this server.
So nice to have a place that understands balance and the import of stellar product.
Amazing food. Great service. Would recommend highly. Would absolutely come again.
The food was very good, as usual. However, the service was as poor as anywhere I have eaten in a long while. From the greeting to the presentation of the check, the server seemed uninterested. There was little communication from him (including a greeting), he forgot a large plate and when we finally asked for it (when we were almost done the meal), he said he'd check. When we got the bill, it was the last item after coffee and dessert. Obviously he had forgotten to put it in and added it after. No offer to comp anything. The pacing was poor. Our appetizer came first, then five minutes later two salads, a pizza and two mains hit the table. Then a long wait for the final main and dessert. We'll be back but this wasn't my favorite meal at Barbuzzo.
Food and ambience was very good. Our server was new and was unaware of some menu items. He mixed up drinks at our table as well as other tables. Never came back to get our dessert order, so no dessert 😕
Excellent all the way around. We had the whipped ricotta, olives, short rib hash, beet salad and the asparagus pizza. Can’t say a bad thing about any of it! Loved all and will be back!
8:15 res on a Friday. Felt rushed the whole time. Staff coming asking if they could take plates away way too often. Ordered dessert and they came by and took my spoon away before I could eat it. Food I got to eat was delicious.
I’ve been to Barbuzzo many, many times since it opened 9 years ago. I almost always get the truffle pizza with the runny egg on it. This time we ordered 2 pizzas for the table and both were somewhat undercooked. Which is a bit of a problem for a pie that has an egg on it. When we mentioned it to a server he said this was how it was supposed to be, but after having eaten a million of these pies I know otherwise. I will still go back, and hope that was a fluke.
Food reviews were over rated. Portions small but tasty overall but a few dishes disappointed
We had an amazing night-before-college-graduation dinner. The gnocchi and stuffed meatballs were amazing! We enjoyed all of the food we had actually..
I would recommend darkening the font on the food menu so that it matches the drink menu- and is easier to see the descriptions. In the evening the upstairs was very dim, with only candlelight, and we had to use cell phones to read the very small and light font on the food menu.
Everything was top notch and amazing as always!! Many Thanks! This neighborhood wouldn’t be the same without you.
Excellent food, attentive service, perfect location, vibrant place. What’s not to like?
Food is always amazing
Never disappoints! Have been dozens of times and it is always good.
Food was amazing!
The food and drinks were amazing. But this was the first time in my life the fire alarm has ever gone off in a restaurant so that kinda broke up the meal into parts and the waiters seemed a little rattled after we went back to being seated. Would definitely go back though, think it was just an unfortunate, rare event.
Food was delicious, but the service was so rushed. Just felt like they couldn't wait to get us out... we were served 3 out of 5 dishes within the first 20 minutes. Great if you're super hungry but for a fairly expensive spot, it was kind of a bummer to feel rushed through and barely have a chance to enjoy each dish as it came out. Also seemed like two servers were competing over our table (not sure if one was training the other, which would have been totally fine and normal, but they were acting super sketchy about it).
Barbuzzo is a solid choice is you want a light dinner at a reasonable price and the food overall is pretty good. Not the best in Philadelphia but it is tasty for sure. The menu is meant for sharing and the portions reflect that. Service was excellent. I would say Barbuzzo is the perfect spot for a casual light dinner or apps on a Wednesday night.
My only negative comment. The Kale salad which advertised goat cheese on the menu, had literally no goat cheese whatsoever.
Gnocchi was good, but the pancetta was kind of blah with the dish.
Riccota was good. But how can you mess up cheese????
Great cocktails and appetizers.
A great outdoor dining experience. Delicious food with good happy hour appetizers and excellent service. Also fun to sit outside in the booth with glass partitions so we could see all of the people walking and eating around us. You couldn't really hear the conversations at the adjacent tables so it was a comfortable area where we could talk but still feel a part of the atmosphere. The focaccia appetizer with feta and roasted tomatoes and olives had incredible flavor and the asparago pizza was also amazing. The salted caramel budino dessert was so smooth and decadent--a great way to end the meal. I would absolutely return and eat it all again!
From appetizers to dessert, everything was excellent! Although we loved everything (Basil Lemonade, Barbuzzo Old Fashion, funghi pizza, squid ink pasta w/seafood, Casarecce, bread pudding, chocolate mousse), in particular, the grilled octopus and branzino were out of this world! We've been meaning to dine here for years and are so glad we finally made it!
The caramel budinos! Heavenly
The food was delicious! The heaters were not working outside. They kept telling us they were resetting them. So, we froze through dinner. As we were finishing, they offered for us to sit inside. The worst part of the night was watching the server move a heater. I was shocked and asked where he found it. He said he should have offered us a heater. Brrrr....yes, that would have been nice! To top it off, they charged for extra pita. They offered us nothing for our very expensive dinner in the cold.
The heater for the outside seating isn’t very effective and unfortunately it was very cold that night. But the food, as always, did not disappoint. Everything we had to eat was spectacular!
Great food great vibe!
The food and server were fairly good, but that didn’t make up for the rude hostess and horrible table. Never again.
I was in town for business and wanted to try a new restauraunt. Barbuzzo was excellent! Their food was creative and delicious! Everything I tried had excellent flavor and exceeded expectations. We got an upstairs table by the window. The server was great. The pricing was super-reasonable. I have definitely paid way more for food that wasn't as good. Would definitely recommend, and go back again.
