Bar Verde – Nordstrom at the Grove
Bar Verde is located on the 2nd floor overlooking the illustrious Grove at the historic Farmers Market in the heart of West Hollywood, California.
Sunset Hour is the time to be at Nordstrom’s Bar Verde. Held Monday through Friday from 4pm to 6:30pm, it’s the time to enjoy specialty appetizers priced at $5 along with $4 beers & $5 wines. Must-have small bites include Pimiento Cheese Dip served with Tuscan grilled bread and Tomato Braised Meatballs with chili infused tomato sauce.
The previous reviews I read were validated! I was thoroughly impressed with everything! Quality of the service and food were superb!
Very nice environment and serving staff. Food was excellent as well.
The entire dinner took 3 hours and everyone was gone by the time we could leave. Way too long in my opinion. The food was mediocre. The tacos were the only good dish but they were tiny
Went there for a birthday. Did reservation through Open Table. Was asked if "special occasion". I said it was for a birthday (70th). I told the server we were celebrating a birthday. He said "happy birthday". I was disappointment because most restaurants will at least do a scoop of ice cream with chocolate sauce. They did NOTHING. Spent $83.
The food and service were amazing
We have made a tradition of dinner at Bar Verde during Advent. Even though servers walked past our table for the first 10 min. without acknowledging our presence one of your hosts & another server treated us well once they discovered the dilemma. Happy New Year!
The food was delicious and we had a lovely table overlooking the holiday decorations at the Grove. Our service was good until we received our food, and then we did not see our server again, and had to ask someone else to send her over with our check.
Great food. Great location. And great server Zack. He was attentive and funny too!
Our food took forever to get. we were sitting on the patio, and it looked like there was only one person as the server for the Entire restaurant. It took 20 minutes to get our appetizers, we were there for almost an hour and a half. Well the food was good, they were understaffed and unfortunately took a long time to receive our food.
Way better food and service than other grove dinning spots, reasonable prices for such good food. Happy employees, super clean restrooms! Keep it up! Don’t screw it up please :-)
We are regulars at Bar Verde and have been for years.
We were concerned that on the evening prior to Thanksgiving the hours may be limited In the later hours so we checked online - at the site, on OpenTable. No indication that the hours of service were going to be altered. We turned up at our OpenTable reservation time of 7:45 to the host greeting that the restaurant was closing in a “few minutes“ - well before advertised hours. Obviously we get it - the hours would be limited leading intro the holiday. Just inform the booking agencies (OpenTable, etc) & update the info online.
We chose to stay, eat at the bar & order quickly knowing everyone wanted to start their holiday.
The general mood that night was “when is everyone leaving?” I’m not a fan of that. We moved quickly though our meal & drinks & settling up but the tone just never got much better.
We will always go back - Bar Verde is our “Cheers” but this wasn’t their best night.
Took a date/friend for her first time and she loved the vibes and patio view.
Everyone was so nice.
The hostess at the front desk was awful. Deer in the headlights awful.
We had a wonderful server though and the food was really good.
Love the food and location. Always nice to get food & great drinks while at the Grove. Food is great. Drinks are awesome. And the wait staff are friendly and professional. Love this place!
I LOVE Bar Verde, one of my favorite places to eat in Los Angeles! The menu is intriguing and varied, the food is delicious, the staff are always friendly and accommodating, and you simply can't be the location overlooking The Grove. It's a real gem that most people don't even know about. I've had many memorable, delicious experiences there. Highly recommended!
Just a word about the October special Bahn Mi sandwich. The bread is all wrong!
Want to thank Arthur our server for his excellent care of our table. Appreciated!
Our flatbread, brisket sandwich and fish tacos were all delicious , and well priced.
We love the balcony. The waitress guy was nice and friendly. The chairs make so much noise when people moving them. Food is very average. Fresh but no taste. Very plain. The fabric napkins are bad! I put it on my lap and my black pants was all dirty with a white dust from the napkins. Thank goodness the front lady had brush to clean it. I won’t recommend this place for my friends. Nothing much wrong. But for this price and atmosphere people can find better deal.
I go here often. It's a favorite go to for us. We have stopped eating on the patio however. The chairs scrape across the floor on the patio and make loud horrible sounds. It's too bad because it's nice to eat out there.
We were greeted by the hostess Ryan who had read our reservation notes and was very kind, professional, and positive. She made our experience!
Always love Bar Verde 💯
Love Bar Verde. In this order good food sweet staff nice decor easy parking super price. Shrimp salad is the BEST. Fresh iced tea.
Nothing was terrible, but we ordered a rare steak and it definitely came medium well to well done. The rest of the food was somewhat bland and pretty overpriced for what we got. I think each entree had one item that was actually good, but neither were the main dish.
Service was OK but he seemed disinterested. They also brought one item out about 5 minutes before the other, and this was at 5 PM on a weekday with almost no one in the restaurant.
Food is excellent. The $29 Dine LA Special was great! Service is also excellent, definitely will be back.
It's a fun location overlooking the green at The Grove. Endless people watching opportunities. Wait staff is always delightful. Calamari with hot peppers and sweet chili sauce -- so tasty!! The chicken tacos are delicious too. A stop here for lunch, followed by a movie a few steps away, and you're good.
the dinela menu was amazing and a great deal. I loved the burrata app!
Funny that in DineLA the best menu I perused was at a Nordstrom restaurant. Food was great. Service was outstanding. Every person I dealt with at the restaurant was awesome. Will go again.
Great vibe at venue, superb service! The food isn't nearly as good as it looks but vibe + decent cost makes up for it. The appetizers and deserts are amazing. Main dish not so much (a bit too bland for my liking, I enjoy savory/powerful flavors).
Bar Verde at The Grove has a good thing going. Great bar. Solid menu. Great atmosphere. And when you have the right server, it's one of our favorite places to go. Over the years, with changes in management & staff, there have been days that weren't amazing, but overall, you can count on consistency at this location. Zach is an excellent server - efficient, friendly, attentive & knowledgable.
Gary is the nicest waiter ever. A+ service!
My friend and I each had a salad. They were adequate, without much character and not exactly crisp. We sat on the terrace and that was very nice.
Would absolutely recommend! Excellent service, tasty food, and great location.
Bar Verde is my favorite restaurant at The Grove. The food is always great, the service is, too. And it's got a great outdoor seating area with a bird's eye view of The Grove. I love it!
We were traveling with a two-year old granddaughter. We knew this place would be perfect. We made a reservation and was seated as soon as we arrived. The atmosphere was very nice and they seated us in the back with other families with children. The food here is very good quality and our two-year old loved the mac and cheese that was on the kid's menu. we adults shared a pizza, salad and each of us their famous tomato basil soup. Our server was wonderful. Very cordial and was on top of all of our orders. We will definitely come back.
it a lovely idea.. view of grove is great..
the food is good... altho a limited menu.
the service was fair.. very nice folks but too few to run the place and once the check came they disappeared. The big problem is the scraping of the chairs... when servers or customers move them , its deafening. They need to solve this problem which is a major turnoff to the dining experience.
Always love the ambience and views of the Grove
Great atmosphere and good quality food. The price is a little pricey for the amount of food, but overall great time spent on Mother’s Day.
