Always a pleasure eating here!
It’s always a great meal! There is something on the menu for everyone!!
Everyone was great
Great place for groups or date night. Brunch was delicious and a service was the best. We will continue to dine at Bar Frites!
We went on Saturday night and the place was packed. We felt like sardines in a can. That's how close all the tables were to each other. People are bumping into other people's chairs as they walked by. I am a big fan of Poll Brothers restaurants but this does not fit in with the rest. It was way too noisy and the Vote de Boef steakmy wife and I shared was bland. I will still go to their other restaurants but this one is definitely off my list for the future
Always a great brunch spot! Food, cocktails and service are consistently amazing!! A fab time as usual!
Delicious food and kind service. Salad portion split was on the small side. Otherwise good experience and nice service.
Numerous food choices and great variety. Nice size portions. Good service
Great service, great food!
Always a fun place to meet and greet friends and soon to be acquaintances, who just might become one....”a friend”
whether sitting at one of the French bistro tables and chairs, or the nice long bar, it’s always nice and easy and fun to hang and chow down on good clean and fresh food, great cocktails, and enjoy the atmosphere and goings on. Been going for years and will continue to....
As always excellent everything. Lunched with my Grandson, who was baker for top French restaurant in Philadelphia, the Park, and is now moving on to live and bake in Portland, Oregon. He requested a return to Bar Frites, as he enjoyed eating here when he had visited from Philadelphia. Felt it compared well to The Park. Remains a favorite.
The food is always consistently perfect and I love the entire team. My husband and family actually feel that they are all part of our extended family!
The food is always a pleasure! We had French dip, mushroom quiche and the steak sandwich. Food was great. The waiter was not attentive- usually have better service. Will return and recommend
The food is always good but our server was truly the rudest. He acted like he was doing us a favor. It was a Tue night, we weren't drinking just getting together, it wasn’t that busy so I don’t get his attitude!?!?
I’d go back because I loved my grilled calamari salad but I tell everyone to prepare for noise and poor service!!
Delicious lunch and excellent service
Front hostess was completely unfriendly and ignored us. We were treated like royalty when Gianluca was the host there so we haven’t been back in a while. Food is mediocre considering it’s one of the poll brothers restaurants. Sadly we were disappointed.
Fabulous food. Great service.
based on eating here the second week of July 2020
if you have been here before there is no change in food, service or decor.
what is new is the COVID policies. I have been to several of the Poll restaurants, Bar Frittes, Tocu, Hendricks, Bryant and Cooper and Cipollini recently. I continue to be amazed at how and why these places place signage up about social distancing and wearing masks BUT there is absolutely no enforcement of the policies. I spoke to managers at each place they just shake their heads but do nothing. Honestly, you are NOT SAFE in these places. Even the owners walk around talking to diners without masks, walking through the restaurants with no face coverings... yet there are signs! I understand that they don't want to be offensive or confrontational with guests BUT they are being careless and disrespectful to those diners that do want to, comply with local and CDC regulations! Shame on them for allowing this behavior. I suggest we all avoid these usually good places until they take regulations seriously!
Our waiter was terrible. I ordered another glass of wine and he fled the table before anyone else could. I literally had to chase him down in the restaurant to get coffee and dessert. This guy had no clue which is so unusual for any of the Poll brother restaurants. Food was good not amazing.
Always great food and service.
Can't understand the appeal of this place. I guess it's a nice vibe in an Air kiss european sort of way. But food is sub par and uneven with the various times we've been here Onion soup tastes different every time we are here. Chicken paillard was meh.I will admit it's nice to sit outside in warm weather and it makes up a bit for the uneven food.
My experience there is alway fantastic
I have had lunch here many times but this was my first time for dinner. My dinner companion was 15 minutes late due to traffic and the maitre'd graciously and unhesitatingly held my reservation in spite of a very busy restaurant at the time. These are the things customers remember when they look for restaurant.
Excellent food and service! Had a great Valentine's day dinner with the wife and waiter were very attentive and accommodating. Food was very delicious. It was a perfect evening out. Highly recommended!
Great casual lunch with friends. Terrific place for dinner as well.
Just finally getting out to a beautiful atmosphere. Thank you for making our Brunch so special.
Love Bar Frites for many years but the weekends & brunch have become such a “scene”-loud, crowded, etc that Monday nights are a great night to go. Not empty but much more family friendly & able to hold a conversation without screaming! Food is always fantastic & service is great!
Always my favorite place to go to!
The food was excellent! Everyone at our table enjoyed all the food and wine we had on our first visit. We definitely would come back. We were disappointed in the amount of mussels served for a full portion. Frites should come with the garlic mayo without having to ask for it. Waiter was very attentive but the bus service was too much with hovering around table. Crossing over people to remove items is annoying but somewhat understandable with the small tables. It was a busy Friday night so that got a pass for that night.
Let me start by saying I am a big fan of one Poll Restaurant in particular so was eager to try another one. The bistro is cute and well appointed, if a bit warm inside with little air circulation. The menu had many things we were eager to try. We decided to start with fried calamari and fish tacos. The calamari was basic with nothing notable. The tacos were good but nothing to take a trip for. I ordered the meatloaf for my entree and my husband ordered the hangar steak , which came with fries. The meatless loaf had more breading than meat. The steak was perfectly cooked and the requefort sauce was delicious but the fries were soggy and bland. For dessert, I tried another testing staple, strawberry napolean. To call this a disappointment is an understatement. Picture three very bad cookies with layers of cream and strawberries. I stared at it for a moment as I couldn't believe my eyes and almost sent it back. The whole point of a napoleon is to have the puff pastry with powdered sugar. These cookies were a joke and really lazy in thought, presentation and substitution.
Let's move onto service. Our waitress was "fair", the best description I could give. She was not rude but neither was she congenial, helpful nor did she produce a smile. I asked what her favorite dish was and her response was to tell me what was ordered most frequently. That wasn't my question. If your own staff doesn't know your dishes to have an opinion of them, that doesn't say much. I never like when they produce the check before I ask for it and she did, so that's another demerit on her. Lastly, it is not seemly to have the wait staff congregate in the entry way to the restrooms like you need to announce to the whole restaurant where you're going. Let's make it very clear, we usually tip above 20% when the service is excellent, even despite the food. I don't even take off the bottle of wine if they serve constantly throughout the meal. I made sure we left no more than at 15% tip.
Love this place; the menu, the food, the service. Unfortunately too loud most of the time and can be exhausting trying to have conversations with your company throughout a meal.
This restaurant does have a French inspired vibe. Unfortunately we were sitting at a table where we were bumped by every passerby especially wait staff. The food was good and the wait staff were attentive. This spot is definitely a good choice for a meal before a Tilles Center event.
Our server was outstanding. He was professional, warm, and attentive. Salads were delicious.
Very popular, and generally busy, the service is consistently good. The steak was good and prepared as requested but the spinach was seasoned with too much garlic.
Fantastic brunch menu! Lots of great choices to satisfy everyone.
I went here with a friend for a girls night dinner and we had a great time!! We both really enjoyed our food and drinks were also great. Our waiter was very kind and attentive. The only downside was that we asked for more time to look over the menu and he disappeared for a little bit, but that was my own fault for not being ready! Definitely a great spot and I will return again!
Fantastic vibe. Wonderful wait staff
Food was good
