Balbir’s is the first and possibly the only Indian restaurant in Scotland to have obtained both the ‘Healthy Living’ award and the ‘Eat Safe’ food certificate from the UK governments Food Standards agency.
O had Prawn Achari which was very good but I think you should have more than one prawn dish. Or you could have a scallop or lobster dish. Scotland is famous for it shellfish.
Also I was dissapointed you No longer have mushroom rice on the menu.
Also I prefer my garlic man served while and not cut up!
But all in all a great dining experience!!
Generally, your usual excellent dining experience - but I felt the dishes I ordered (veg pakora and butter Paneer) lacked the depth of flavours that I'm used to having been dining at Balbir's for a ling time. Could have been a one of this time and I will be back to try again for sure.
I was a but disappointed that Masala Chai wasn't available the night I was there for some reason.
Always a pleasure to eat here. I go with family and friends and have recently begun to take visiting colleagues from home and abroad.
Always welcomed, never pressured - and the food is sublime. Guests always ask me to take them back...you can't get a higher accolade!
Excellent Indian restaurant with some unusual dishes on the menu
The quality of the food was superb, the staff were efficient and friendly and the evening was enjoyed by our guests. Would highly recommend the tandoori salmon for starter, and then any of the lamb dishes as a main. Naan breads were soft and fluffy.
Delicious food, in an elegant surrounding. Modern Indian food
One of the best Indian / South Asian restaurants in Glasgow
Excellent food, especially starters. Service efficient and unobtrusive
Delicious food, friendly staff with great recommendations
Amazing meal at Balbirs as always. We had the banquet which let us try some food we wouldn’t normally order - food and service were first class!
Fantastic as always
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We booked after an internet search and were unsure what would await us; it was really excellent! Great surroundings, a wonderful meal and attentive and friendly staff. What more could you ask for?
Excellent dinner as always. Balbir popped by our table for a chat. Restaurant quieter than normal as it was the holiday weekend, but still a cosy atmosphere.
Best restaurant in Glasgow. Food and service outstanding.
only black mark was, at one point, we had difficulty attracting the attention of a waiter to get some more water
Superb Indian dining experience. Service from Amrit was first class.
Highly recommended venue.
Very good, been here many times. Always good
Some of the best Indian food we have had in a long time. Lovely big square table so you can see everyone if you are in a larger group - there were 8 of us. Lovely restaurant decor and lighting. Waiter advised on breads, rice etc so we ended up with a perfect amount. Good value for money. Waiting staff near at all times to take drinks orders. Food arrived very quickly. ONE downside - I asked 3 times for a rosé and lemonade and each time ended up with a rosé and soda water. I didn't flag it up to them so they didn't have an opportunity to rectify it - certainly not the end of the word and very telling that it's the only negative I can think of!! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening.
Absolutely amazing. The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We had the taster menu and the waiter went over all our courses, brining more where we really liked something. It was a fantastic night.
Wonderfull staff, lovely interior, very nice food, i would recommend to all,
Third time I've been and quality of food has been so good each time. Tandoori Salmon starter was absolutely delicious. All our mains were lovely and we'll definitely be back.
They shuffled table at short notice to accommodate an extra person and helped guide us pick some excellent food and ensured very good service throughout. Excellent as always.
Fabulous meal as always, served by friendly staff. Thank you!
Restaurant looks real quality. Got seated and quickly offered menu and a drink.
Made our order and starters arrived within 5 minutes. Fish pakora and aubergine pakora. Both were tasteless more like thinly battered fish and pakora.
Onto mains chicken parsi and lamb karahi. Chicken was bland and certainly not tika, lamb tasted of cloves and again no flavour.
Not be back, can get a better curry experience from local kebab shop.
Stunning restaurant gorgeous food staff so helpful have recommended and will continue to and we will be back
We had the banquet which was excellent. The food was outstanding and very good value for money. The restaurant was very helpful and substituted a creamy curry which we did not like to another one and there was no fuss about this. The staff are all great very helpful and friendly but not in your face.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has nice subdued lighting.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience which could not have been bettered. We have been to this restaurant many times before and will return very soon.
Great food and service friendly staff would recommend very busy for a Wednesday
Had a relaxing time. Background music was appropriate. Staff were attentive . Food was delicious.
Excellent food, service, friendliness, just love this restaurent. The food is fresh, vibrant & cooked by skilled chefs and the warm welcome makes you want to come back
Service was exceptional, highly recommend. Best Indian in the westend.
Very attentive, all staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Food was amazing
First visit, welcomed by a lovely male waiter. Table was near door but not an issue due to layout of the restaurant. Decent sized table. Staff very pleasant and attentive. Great food and drinks choice. We were very pleased and surprised at the bill, we expected it to be more. Definitely go back and definitely recommend to others.
Excellent food and service. Staff discuss menu and diet, spiciness of dishes, ask about allergies and generally make you feel very welcome. I specially recommend salmon tandoori which is amazing. This can be a starter or a main course. Recommended highly.
Best Indian cuisine in Glasgow
Very good experience at Balbirs on Tuesday 5th March. We had a family dinner, table for Six, the food was excellent. The young waiter and waitress were attentive and professional. No complain at all. Would highly recommend. Looking forward to next visit.
