Atwater's in The Herrington
This was a wonderful meal. Beautiful view of the river. Great service, Great ambiance. Spent the day wandering around Geneva. Capped it off with dinner and drinks at Atwater then spent the night at the Herrington. Perfect little weekend getaway. If you live in the city you can take the train out (station is just a 10 minute or so walk away.) Great change of pace
Very quaint resturant with exceptional food and service.
Great restaurant, great food, and great service. Special thanks to the Chef!!!
Excellent service. Excellent Food. Always great service. Perfect timing in presenting courses. Quiet relaxed atmosphere. Always my favorite place to dine. Try the Old Fashioned drinks. Very Good.
Always an incredible experience and excellent food for
Our annual Valentines Day celebration.
Awful service. Not crowded either so I can’t understand how we were always waiting to order/for drinks/for ketchup/for the bill......
We went there for the restaurant week to try a new place and I would definitely recommand. The food is amazing and the service is very friendly. Tables are nicely dressed. Very warm atmosphere.
Excellent food and romantic ambiance! Service is attentive and prices are on the high end but worth it!
A small charming restaurant with exceptional food. We went during Chicago's Restaurant Week, so the value was extra-special. There's no doubt we'll return.
A phenomenal setting, atmosphere, meal options and service in a suburban setting. Very difficult to leave without a smile. Hard to understand why the place doesn’t have a month long waiting list.
Excellent venue, relaxing and quiet. Good food and nice selection of wines, nice bar too. The service was excellent.
It was overall a wonderful experience as always! Great combo of atmosphere and quality of food!!!!
Brunch was fabulous. I especially like the fact that it's not a buffet, but rather order off the Brunch menu.
Lovely ambiance but eggs were overcooked and cold.
Excellent breakfast. We will definitely come back for a quiet breakfast and dinner in a lovely setting.
One of our favorite restaurants, hands down! Very quiet, intimate setting overlooking the Fox River with 5 star service and incredible dishes and wines. Our server selected a very nice wine that paired well with the Pork Belly appetizer and Rack of Lamb from the 4 course special menu selection for restaurant week.
We had the 4 course Chicago Restaurant Week menu, which was excellent. This is a pricey place, so the Restaurant Week prix fixe menu is definitely worth it. Every dish was delicious. Pork belly was melt in your mouth good, butternut squash bisque had a touch of sweetness and spice. The rub on the lamb chops had a hint of heat, and the wine reduction sauce with the lamb was rich. Creme brulee and the chocolate dessert were both fabulous. The dining room is quiet and intimate, perfect for a romantic night out. Service was spot on. Definitely a special occasion place.
Amazing service and food .... did 4 course dinner during restaurant week , perfectly paced ! Thank you for a lovely evening .
Went there for Restaurant Week
Service was very friendly and we didn’t feel rushed which was bice
My favorite restaurant. Beautiful room. Wonderful view of the river. Located in a charming hotel.
The service was fabulous. The food to die for. We went during Geneva's restaurant week for lunch.
The lunch menu was like a dinner menu. We walked out very satisfied. I know we will eat at Atwater's
again and again !
Absolutely outstanding everything!
Everything was fantastic. This was a great place to be while watching the snow fall.
Wonderful staff, service and food. I love the ambience of Atwater's. We celebrated my mom's birthday at Sunday Brunch. The staff is always attentive from the moment we enter the doors. The perfect place for an afternoon lunch with a friend or family.
I always enjoy dining at this restaurant. It’s quiet. It’s beautiful. The food is delicious. The service is outstanding.
The food and ambience were nice. We have been there several times. This time the service was horrendous. My wife actually said why do you think he hates us. Michael was not attentive. He never checked back with us. I asked for bread. It never came. Not sure I will return.
Excellent, high-class, restaurant. Not a place for children. No TVs, no noise, elegant atmosphere.
Date with the wife. Good food and good service. Beautiful environment and amazing view of the Fox River. I would recommend a visit.
Birthday celebration dinner for my wife. Expected an outstanding experience, and we were not disappointed. The decor and ambiance exuded intimacy. My wife ordered the Pink Lady Cocktail and pronounced it among the best she has ever tasted. Ditto for the Honeysuckle Cocktail I ordered. Crab cakes for appetizers were delicious, For the main course my wife ordered the Filet MIgnon which came in a 3" high by 3" diameter portion and cooked to perfection. I ordered the Coconut Crusted Halibut. excellent aroma, taste and texture. Finished off the meal with a chocolate cake and cream concoction with a Chambord sauce. Superb. Service was impeccable with respect to attentiveness, timing and presentation. We highly recommend Atwater's if you are looking for a fine dining experience.
It’s a great place to have a quiet dinner, especially if you reserve early or later. But it ever really gets too loud. We’ve always enjoyed the ambiance, food, and service we experience here in Atwater’s. The service and food never disappoints. It’s the one restaurant I enjoy the most in Geneva.
I brought my mother to Christmas brunch, and we had a terrible experience. My mother had the prime rib special and the meat was so tough she couldn't even cut it. She was sawing at it and it wouldn't even cut. She ate about a quarter of the meat, she said it was the WORST prime rib she has ever had. Everything else on her plate was cold and the carrots were so hard, and nothing was seasoned. I had the chicken stuffed crepes and they were okay but cold, and the asparagus on my plate had no seasoning or taste. We had to ask our waiter for bread rolls twice before he brought them, and the staff looked like they had no idea what they were doing. The manager was running around and not really doing anything. There were trays of dirty dishes in the corners by the fireplace, which made me lose my appetite. I heard a woman at the next table ask the server to throw her plate in the microwave because the food was so cold. We told our waiter about how bad the food was, and all he said was, "I'm sorry". The only reason I gave him a tip at all was because it was Christmas. Also, in the past they have had special Christmas desserts, which we look forward to, this year it was just the regular dessert menu. What a disappointing Christmas. We will NOT be returning.
It a beautiful restaurant, good service and delicious food. Menu is limited but everyone enjoyed their meal. The ambiance is very quaint. We went there for Christmas Eve, it was magical!
Filet, turkey and fish were all perfect,
Go for a quiet upscale meal.
Such a relaxing and intimate environment. Had a great dinner, delicious wine and our server was excellent.
We were celebrating our anniversary and it was so nice to converse and hear each other!
Will definitely be back.
Super charming. Wonderful brunch. Adorable server! Wish I remembered her name. Will definitely be back!!
Was our anniversary dinner!! PERFECT is all I can say.
I am looking forward to coming back in the summer to enjoy the deck overlooking the river. The Atwater was amazingly delicious.
Here’s a fabulous restaurant with great food and courteous wait staff. Wonderful experience, nice view of river. We will return soon
A wonderful Christmas tradition for our family!
It is a joy to have dinner at Atwater's, especially at Christmas time. The atmosphere is fabulous, the service outstanding and the food is to die for. I went with my good friend - there were a lot of folks celebrating the season. It is also a has a very romantic ambience. I absolutely recommend Atwaters
Came 'home' from Florida to get in the mood of the Christmas spirit with old friends. Brought some Florida friends along. If this wasn't the perfect setting I don't know what could been better! From the holiday decor to the Christmas smells, fabulous food and superb service, it was the best! Thank you for the added touch of genuine Christmas Carolers! ❤️
Well for starters, we you buy an expensive bottle of wine; they suppose to a least serve you, but no, they did not. Food was dry . Food presentation is good, however, they should at least give you salad and soup with your entree instead of paying extra for it.
