Always consistent — amazing food, excellent service and good ambiance!
The food at Arezzo is very good. I am always satisfied with my meal. The staff is always attentive. The atmosphere could use an updating.
I had a delicious fish special. My daughter had the chicken Milanese, which was good. The Caesar salad was quite good and very fresh.
We ordered soup and salads, which were good, not spectacular. The zucchini and calamari appetizer was outstanding. Prices were high though.
As always we enjoyed great food, a beautiful view, and reliable service. Truly one of Westport's gems.
I guess that we didn’t have the “Westport look,” so my husband and I were ignored to the point where we were served three dishes in one hour with no bread and only one glass of wine. I inquired as to why our requests for bread and wine were ignored, and the hostess proceeded to give me a gentle push and said “as you can see, we are a little busy right now.” Spoiler alert: the restaurant wasn’t even half full. We gave the staff a tip that ref elected how cheap they made us feel.
The restaurant was closed with no notice that they weren’t going to be open that night
We visited on a Sunday and not many others dinning. It was nice to sit outside by the river. The food was not great and seemed a little pricy for what was served.
Nice water views and good food! When the weather is good it is so nice to sit outside.
We had lunch on the patio. The pasta dishes were great.
I was disappointed. The website presented a much more sophisticated restaurant than I found. The place was relatively empty for a Saturday at 8pm and the food was mediocre.
Beautiful outdoor dining. A bit expensive but quality food
The food was so good... but the service was terrible and their tables outside are garbage. They are cheap tables that 2 of the 4 people have bars against their legs which is highly uncomfortable. Other then that the ambiance is very nice and I really enjoyed the food, super tasty.
Wonderful view on the river. Excellent meal. Very good service.
I chose this restaurant for my birthday and had been looking forward to the meal as the reviews online were very good. I am sad to say it was incredibly disappointing. Multiple issues occurred that contributed to it being one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time:
1) while pouring red wine, our server spilled it all over the table and menu and never acknowledged it nor made an attempt to clean it up
2) although well intentioned, someone on staff came out with a dessert with a birthday candle BEFORE we even had a chance to eat our meal. It was bizarre and not what my husband requested. He waved them off and asked them to come back when it was actually dessert time but no one ever did.
3) our appetizer never arrived so when our entrees came out first we politely asked the server about it and he proceeded to argue with us and tell us we hadn’t ordered one. We said it was fine but we would just like it removed from the check. Upon going to the kitchen, he returned with a different story in which he blamed it on the kitchen staff being too overwhelmed, but not to worry because it was not on the check anyway (for the record - it was a Saturday night. Understand mistakes happen, but how do you claim being overwhelmed as a valid excuse? A good restaurant should always be prepared for a Saturday night rush)
4) My chicken parm was incredibly dry and over cooked. Appeared to have sat out for awhile before coming to me.
5) Our server never came back once afterward to check if we needed anything. We had to basically beg for our check.
The ambience was beautiful and can’t be beat, but that was about all that was positive about this experience. I won’t be returning.
Great restaurant ... location on the water is just beautiful, food delicious and service impeccable.
Fish was expensive and average. Service was below average with poor communication and lapses. Sitting outside was the big draw and only reason to return. Desserts were very good.
Had lunch on a beautiful day overlooking the river. Only had salad but was delicious!
Abrezzo is always a perfect choice for dining on a lovely summer evening. We sat outside, looked at the water and heard a bit of the concert that was going on at the Levitt Pavillion. The food is good. I particularly enjoyed my artichoke salad. My husband had the fried calamari...I would not choose this plate again. We had made reservations, through Open Table, but were told that we would not be given a “prime” table for two. The explanation we were given was that there were two tables that had been occupied for three hours and the diners refused to leave. The restaurant manager did not know how to politely turn the tables over. I found this somewhat perplexing. There have been times that I have been part of a dining party that has “overstayed” its welcome at a restaurant. Usually the manager brings over a complimentary dessert or after dinner drink with the bill. The staff at Abrezzo were unable to do this.
This restaurant could be a standout because of it’s charming setting. They may have been short staffed, the service was terrible. Waiter arrogant and we had to ask twice for everything. Food was mediocre.
Service is so poor!! The waitstaff has a lot to be desired... so disappointing... food is good... ambiance is amazing... waitstaff is awful on all levels!
Overall very good. Polpo alla griglia wasn't alla griglia. Apple tart w/olive oil ice cream was
served w/vanilla bc some people "don't like the idea of olive oil ice cream".
Squid ink pasta w/mixed shellfish was extraordinary. Large veal chop w/ Brussel sprouts & mash was superb
I would not take the time to write a review however my experience was so horrendous I needed to share. We were a group of 6, with friends visiting from out of town, and did not even bother to stay to receive our cocktails. No one came over to us within 30 mins of being seated, and it was quite obvious the entire staff was in disarray... no one was receiving service or food... and as soon as we saw other tables leaving, we decided to not waste any more time, and leave after waiting for 45 mins for another restaurant. Extremely disappointing and will not return.
Not a good experience. Slow service, lack of communication (language barrier) . It was expensive, period. The prices on the menu were much higher than on the website. Very disappointed. Not going back.
My boyfriend and I chose to diner with Arezzo for our anniversary. We were visiting Westport for the weekend and thought it seemed like a cute place. The food was great. The view from the patio was beautiful.
The woman that greeted us at the door was so sweet. However, our server was not friendly at all. He did not come over once to ask us how the meals were. We waited about 15 minutes with an empty water glass, and could not ask for a refill because he was not coming over.
I would recommend, but be weary.
We loved the mixed seafood salad. It was so delicious -- so fresh -- so satisfying! They made me a cocktail with a special gin locally hand crafted called Tuck Gin with St. Germain, lime juice and fresh cucumber that was out of this world delicious -- not too sweet. Ask for it. They normally make it with cucumber flavored vodka. It's worth it just to go there to have that drink -- it's that good! The only downside was the funky odor inside the restaurant but I think that's common in many old buildings no matter where you go, I think from the old plumbing. Anyway, don't let that keep you away. Their food has always been terrific and at the right time of the year, the outdoor seating is lovely.
We have been to Arezzo numerous times and have enjoyed the food. The wait staff this evening was not as efficient as it normally is. We had to ask for water and after our meal was served our waiter disappeared. Yes - there was a private party and a large party at another table, however, we definitely felt neglected. If next we walk in and the restaurant is very busy, we will look elsewhere - sorry.
We never write reviews but this time we were compelled to do so. The location and view were wonderful but everything else was terrible. Wet menus, served bread and caponata with no plates or utensils and it took 20 minutes to finally get them after asking. We were served a class of water with no refills in sight. The waiter was miserable. My husbands drink was brought to three other tables before making its way to ours. The cavatelli dish was delicious but the veal saltimbocca was awful! No salt came anywhere near that plate. The place needs an overhaul because it is such a prime location and view.
Lovely setting on the river.
This restaurant was horrible. Service and food was very disappointing. I ordered the veal Milanese, I’m almost certain it was pork due to the color and texture of bone. No taste in the food and waited for ever for service. Atmosphere was pretty , but not worth the quality of food and horrible service. I will never go back.
We love Arezzo! The outdoor seating by the water is amazing. The food is so delicious. The music is a bit “old fashioned” but I guess it sets the mood.
Overpriced! The menu makes each dish sound like a gastronomic experience but in fact they are basic and lacked luster for the price.
We were seated outside and apparently over a storm drain because we smelled the sewage.
We stopped here on our way home from Cape Cod. We got sit outside by the water. Beautiful! The food was delicious. Service was great! The only complaint would be that I thought it was very pricey for the amount of food.
For such a beautiful spot on the water, we keep attempting to go to this restaurant. However, after this last visit, we will not return. The service was abominable. We sat with dirty dishes at our table and tried to get wait staff to take them, to no avail. Our appetizer was screwed up two times, at which point someone in our party just kept it that way. The food was not so great and appetizers were very expensive. It's such a shame that they can't get it right. We keep trying hoping that it will change. We have complained before to the manager.
Our waitress, Kate, was so great and we enjoyed the food and atmosphere outside!
The appetizer and entree selections were all very tempting. Our flounder and roast chicken were excellent. The ambiance and outdoor setup were beautiful and offered great views of Westport. Unfortunately our waiter seemed inattentive and at one point seemed to ignore us when we tried to get another drink. We left disappointed due to the poor service and will be hard to recommend to friends in the future.
Bad experience...many warning signs... started when we called to see if parking behind the building was available to diners. Hostess said she doesnt know about parking she is new after being confused thinking parking meant that we were interested in a private event. Found street parking, showed up with reservation, hostess is very confused. Multiple groups of people looked unhappy waiting. She tells us dining outside is limited so I say no problem we are happy to dine inside. She then says no we can wait for outside, I said no inside is fine. After 5-10 minutes we are finally seated inside after watching her run around (yes RUN) and someone else trying to help her also running around. A comment was made to another waiting party of two that its not a good night at the restaurant. I think they were actually refusing to seat them despite there being many tables open. I started to read reviews (should've done before) and started to see similar complaints of bad service so it was not only this day it was bad but its an on-going theme. At that point we were going to leave but were finally seated. Then it took 5 minutes to get water glasses. Then another 5 minutes to get water. In that time we saw wait staff running around (yes RUNNING) - it was quite a scene. Said we were ready to place order, was told waiter would be around. We ended up waiting 15 minutes, never saw a waiter. Could not place a drink or food order. I figured it would be a good hour until we saw any food if we ever saw any food once ordering so we ended up leaving. Went to a place we have dined at before and had an excellent dinner including excellent service and food was served within 20 minutes of sitting. Funny enough we overhead a group seated next to us at the other restaurant was talking about Arezzo and how they had a bad experience recently. What a coincidence. Apparently this place is falling apart or has already fallen apart. We will never attempt to dine here again.
Wonderful place to have dinner outside next to the river on a beautiful summer evening. Food is terrific. Great drinks.
Not what it used to be as good and service levels have declined. Beautiful spot but that doesn’t compensate for an understaffed and mediocre quality menu.
