Anthony's HomePort - Des Moines
I wish that their menu was larger as it used to be.
Very great experience! Staff and servers were friendly and followed the safety guidelines for Covid -and really appreciated that. Just wish there were more items on the dinner menu to choose from. I miss having oysters and miss having a good happy hour. That is my only 2 cents. Keep up the great work guys!
We went to celebrate my wife's birthday (39 of course!).
We were greeted and screened (which I appreciated).
We were promptly seated per our reservation.
Prompt, courteous service.
Our only somewhat negative observation was there was a limited menu. We fully understand because they can't have everything on their former menu and stay in business. Nevertheless there was a nice selection. Both of our choices (Salmon, Halibut) were delicious.
The ambiance was perfect for our celebration. Our waitress was very professional as were the young lady who cleared our table and other waitstaff.
There was a nice selection of desserts, beer and wine.
We observed careful compliance with COVID-19 which we appreciated.
It was a very positive experience.
My wife enjoyed her birthday celebration.
We will definitely go back again.
The sunset was gorgeous
Beautiful view of the water and Olympic Mountains, really delicious food and friendly service.
Everything was good.
We arrived just in time for one of their last seatings after a business meeting. The wait was several minutes even with my Open Table reservation, but the staff was courteous and efficient once we were seated. The shining star was the back waiter, a female in her 20’s who was extremely outgoing and made us feel like one of the family. Usually the seafood is superb, but tonight the scallops were a tad overcooked and the rice had some crunchy pieces from probably sitting in a warmer for too long. All in all, this is still one of my go-to favs in the area. The view is wonderful and relaxing and it’s away from the hustle and bustle of the metro area, but convenient enough to hop back onto I5
Good until lots of people showed up. Did not seem to be properly distanced
Great experience, as we celebrated my co-workers retirement. Food was on point and fresh.
We picked a good time there was no problem getting a seat with a view inside. The food was great. The staff were also friendly
Wonderful seafood and waterfront dining. Our favorite Anthony's location!
My salmon fish was cold in center. Green beans not cooked enough.
Very pleased with the overall dinning experience. They were more than helpful thru the door and just the same on the way out. They food was very good and the service was perfect. Great date night with the lady. Thumbs was up !
We were seated in a dark corner where the light bold was blown out over our table. I asked for a candle or light to see and they just said NO .... not let me see or would you like to move to a new table so i used my cell phone to see the menu. The server was drab didn’t offer us any of the specials and the I my time he smiled was when he dropped the bill. Our empty plates sat in front of us like 15 minutes when we asked our server he he could take him he said no my busses will do that. The food was good but he never checked on us aster it was brought and drinks sat empty. Overall I wished we (4 of us) had spent date night some place elsewhere.
Anthony's is our go to place for great food with good service, choices, value. All these were met Saturday....but, the restaurant was crowded. Way too crowded for my comfort during a pandemic. We had to wait to be seated. We'll go again but during the week to see if they are less busy.
Anthony’s is my favorite restaurant, and my go-to for any occasion. The views are spectacular, the staff if friendly and welcoming, and the food is delicious. Highly recommend!!!
We usually have a great time at Anthony's but when we recently went it seemed very rushed. Our we only talked to our server a couple of times, he seemed to be preoccupied with other tables than ours. I get it can be busy but there was no acknowledgment that we were put on the back burner. We did the sunset dinner, which tasted great. Everything food was was on point, but the experience with our server wasn't the best.
Anthony's offers a great view, a reasonable selection of trays, the famous sunset dinners, and wonderful service. This was a fun birthday outing. We also appreciated that Anthony's is operating safely and comfortably during COVID-19.
Had a great dinner with friends we hadn’t seen for a while.
Great food. We went twice in as many days!
Anthony’s was wonderful, once we got a better table for my 70 birthday celebration.
•I’m SURE u’ll have a way to edit this, my issue is the incessant “Reminders” for this reservation, At LEAST 6, including one the morning of, i truly was expecting 1 HOURLY up to 4:15pm As my reservation was at 5:15p. To me this is Nagging.
Wonderful King salmon. Oysters were excellent. Peach desert very good.
Nice time :-)
The dinner choice was slim pickings. Small portions and 2 out of 4 dinners were not as ordered. Server was good. I will not go back until they open all the way up with happy hour and regular menu.
Anthony’s has always been one of our favorite restaurants. We were there to celebrate our 58th anniversary. The food as always was very good and the service was outstanding. We had a lovely table overlooking the water and enjoyed a perfect sunset. Anthony’s will continue to be one of our go to favorite restaurant.
Had a wonderful dinner. Tables were spaced, very comfortable.
We were celebrating our 44th Anniversary, requested outside seating - all noted in Open Table reservation but had to request when we were @ 1st directed to indoor...We ordered Appetizer of Tempura Green Beans & Spinach salad - beans were snappy & dipping sauce tasty & salad had mango/peach cubes - Gr8 choices! Yummy hot french bread & sweet butter were included also. Entrees ordered were the Cajun rock fish & the halibut - nice large servings w rice & green beans! Cajun was a bit too spicy for my husband’s taste & I added some sweet butter to my halibut but both were very fresh & tasty. We’d go back again cause Marina ambience was nice - suggest going early & definitely asking to dine outside (provided it’s a nice day!)
AWESOME!!... as always!
Always lovely service at Anthony's m Steak was a tad chewey. But the salmon was superb.
Everything was fine overall... I dine here a lot so I don’t have much to say
We watched the sunset over the canal with the sailboat masts in the foreground. My husband’s salmon was great and I enjoyed my crab dip. A lovely evening.
We had reservations and were promptly seated when we check in. They placed us at the north west corner of the bar area right next to the window. The closest table was 12 feet or more away - what a wonderful evening.
Was able to sit outside with social distancing! Beautiful day gorgeous view of the water! Service and food always great.
Great as always! We plan to be back often when we can
Great spot for a casual dinner. Killer view, good food and we had outstanding service from the staff.
They shouldn’t book several of same time because some guest like us waited 40 minutes to get our table and few more minutes to see a server.
Excellent as always! Even in these Covid times! Super clean friendly great food! Always love eating here!
Delicious Birthday dinner!!!
Always friendly staff and delicious, reasonably priced food. We were able to get a table outside in the sunshine. The Bailey's chocolate mousse tasted like heaven.
After hearing how nice and how excellent the food was at Anthony’s, I tried it for the first time. It was surprisingly underwhelming in contrast to the accolades. We were told that bread was not served until a meal order was placed, and we’d already received our adult beverages. The server was good in replacing my drink as the whipped cream was soured. We had light meals of chowder (really good!) and salad (average). The dessert was just okay, not a wow. The view of course was great, but I guess my expectations were for more of a big WOW, and it just wasn’t there. Covid may have played a part As it seemed a smaller menu, however that was one thing they did do with excellence—maintaining space and not cross contaminating by handling plates a number of times.
