My steak dinner was great, but my wife’s salmon meal was coated in butter. Not the quality of food, for the price you pay.

Anthony’s is managing the COVID regulations very respectfully, at least in the dining room. The staff is working hard to follow the guidelines and it shows. The service was excellent, as was the Burnt Cream, and for those things, we just may go back. Or was it the cocktails that will bring me back? I find the menu to be rather “old school,” which is not a negative, however a refresh would be a good thing. For example, the side starch of rice pilaf with golden raisins (I think?) is not very creative or attractive on a plate, in my opinion. While it tasted fine, it seems like there are lots of other sides that would better accompany their entrees. The salmon was very tasty as were their scallops. The chowder was a great starter as well!

Brought my mom in for her 65th birthday. We sat outside and enjoyed a fabulous meal. Mom had the delicious King salmon and I had the scallops. Huge portions and very delicious! Great service♡

My first experience at a restaurant since Covid-19. The staff were friendly and professional. I was very grateful for the staff service as they are putting themselves at risk to serve us. The food was delicious.

Always excellent food and service, only way to beat normal is to be cheaper, like the Sunset Special which is a great deal!

The BD dessert was yummy and appreciated. Loved the halibut caddy gantry. I think it’s misspelled on the menu, or I’ve been mispronouncing it. It was so nice to get out in the world.

We had a great time sitting on the deck watching the boats come and go. The food was very well prepared and the quantities were just right. The wait staff were excellent. Thanks for a great evening.

I was disappointed that, despite having a reservation that specified patio seating, we had to wait 30 minutes for our table.

We sat outside on the front deck and it was lovely. I felt quite safe, as all the staff wore masks as did the patrons until they were seated. The tables were nicely spaced. The food was good, a little on the expensive side. All in all, a great dinner.

Eating a Sunset Dinner on the deck at Anthony’s is a great way to end a summer day. Masks until seated, tables set at social distancing, and staff wore masks while waiting on customers. We look forward to more good times in Des Moines. L & L

I made reservations for 2 and my daughter Tara Mackemull on open table as well made reservation for 4 at same time so our family of 6 could sit near each other. Ended up 2 tables of 3 next to each other. It was Taras birthday do it was a nice celebration. Just didn’t feel or look the same. Not very fast on service, food didn’t taste that great and table busser seemed to hover around unnecessary. Will wait awhile to go back.

Nice view, excellent food, and very good service even in the times "The Covid". Be careful if you use Google for directions as it may make you late for your reservation.

Loved the food and the view. However, the place was packed. In the time of coronavirus, I figured some tables would be blocked off for social distancing, but that was not the case. We were seated right next to another party when there were plenty of other open tables. It was a little concerning, but other efforts were being made to promote a safe environment.

We both ordered the Sunset dinner option and had the Cod. Was prepared well side dishes were delicious too. I would like to visit again in the future this was our second visit in two weeks. Last time we ordered off the regular menu and had a wonderful meal and great experience. I did notice only two Entree’s to choose from on the Sunset menu both fish. I’m disappointed there weren’t more choices.

Anthony’s Home Port Des Moines has always been consistent on their food and service! I grew up in Des Moines and now live 30 miles away but when dining out for a special occasion or just to meet some of my friends that are still local I always rely on Anthony’s!! The only down side is their vegetation options....my daughter is vegetarian and always hesitates when we inviter her because she has VERY limited choices.

My daughter in Corvallis Oregon had purchased an email gift certificate. The printout did not show the Anthony's Home Port logo, so the manager felt it could not be accepted. I went home and printed the email itself and the email itself DID show the logo (but the certificate she email to us didn't). So, what to do? I think she need to be back in touch with her VISA card holder and ask for her money back, but she has to do that. Otherwise, we LOVE it at Anthony's Home Port. We joke about our $100 dinners which is exactly what this came to. We will be back in a couple weeks for my husband's birthday.

First time in over 35 years that my food was not enjoyable. My salmon was raw and after sending back, I was given an overdone portion. The strawberry cheesecake was good though.

Had reservations and we were seated right away. Our server was very attentive, making sure that our beverages were refilled, regularly. The busboy cleared our place settings right away. It was a beautiful evening, with a gorgeous view, amazing company, and terrific food. Other than ordering from an online menu, and the servers all wearing masks, we hardly noticed that there is a pandemic occurring right now. It was a much needed night out - away from the house! Thank you Anthony's, a job well done.

Anthony's did a GREAT job of distancing the tables/chairs so there was plenty of space around the table/chairs and felt VERY comfortable on the deck. Wish it could always be this way, so much more pleasant than having some else's chair up against your chair back! Service good and they had one paper menu or digital option.

On a special diet, we order scallops with veggies (no rice) and sirloin (same). Both were outstanding. We almost came back again the next afternoon. Everything felt very safe.
