As I wrote previously and you answered me. They closed early so when we arrived they were closed even though we made reservation less than an hour prior to coming.
They didn’t care and or look up the name for the reservation name. ( thank goodness there was no wait!)The person to seat us had apple air pods on and kept asking us to repeat ourselves. We didn’t have one specific server but a bunch who just kept repeating what the other had asked. The food was lack luster to say the least but the dessert was horrendous. We had the “ricotta” cheesecake, cannoli, and cappuccino which was disgusting. Yes the cappuccino wasn’t even good. You’re better off going somewhere else!
Appetizers and salad were very good. All entrees were excellent and served hot and fresh. A little disappointed in Tartuffe dessert. Our waiter was exceptional. Decor could use some updating. All in all a very nice time.
They had live guitar music. It was wonderful. We enjoyed the music and great food.
Certainly recommend. Ambiance maybe a little out of date, but service and food were both excellent! I'd go back any time I wanted very good pasta.
There was entertainment with a singer that was way too loud for a small restaurant like that. It made it very difficult to enjoy the meal.
We had a very enjoyable meal at Amore of Wayne. The food was delicious. Excellent risotto with scallops.
Service was wonderful. It felt like the restaurant was arefor the night
I believe when a wait staff member tells you the specials they should also say the cost of each special
I believe a veal chop for $45.00 is very costly. We should have known that before ordering.
Our son and wife took us out for my birthday. It was a wonderful night. Service was great. Food was delicious . calamari was so tender everyone remarked about it. Our entrees were large portions and excellent. They were so attentive that they knew it was my birthday and came out with complimentary deserts with a sparkler and their child came out clapping and wishing a happy birthday. Adorable. We will go back. Thank you !
Had dinner with co-workers on a quiet Tuesday evening. The food was WONDERFUL - the service was polite but very inattentive. Our waitress may have just been new to service but did not have a sense of timing and we ended up waiting far too long between courses. Three people with a salad and entree each, and the meal took 2.5 hours. But the food was truly wonderful, so still giving them five stars. Two of us ordered the Risotto Amore and other ordered Chicken Parmigiana- both we’re just excellent. Creamy and flavorful risotto with perfectly cooked scallops on the former, and the chicken was high quality, perfectly cooked and with large portions on the latter. Didn’t have dessert because of time it took to get to end of the meal - otherwise, I’m sure we would be raving about the desserts, too.
Went there on Valentines day. The food was great, they had live music, and each woman was given a long stemmed rose. We had a wonderful time.
Food was great! They had live singers for Valentine's Day which made it even better!
They didn't have our OpenTable reservation but seated us anyway. Food is quite good but dishes are overpriced by about $5. Service is scattered and spotty, with servers running around frantic, accomplishing little. We were never offered dessert. The decor is hideously dated. Wayne has better Italian restaurants.
I understand food is cooked when ordered but it was very slow getting to our table. We arrived at 6:30 and finished dinner around 9:30. I’m not sure if they were short staffed. There seemed to be a lot of staff running around but nothing was getting done. Three of our appetizers were served while the fourth was forgotten. It was finally served after the rest of us were done. Drink orders never made it to our table. Having said the negatives, the food was excellent. We will go back again and hope the service is better.
Overall, very good experience.
Ordered one entree from regular menu & one from special menu, both very good.
Carrot cake was just okay.
Will definitely go back
Good food nice ambiance and good service. Good to go
Food is always very tasty.Service excellent. The owner bought an after dinner drink.Previously a BYOB but no longer however wine prices very reasonable
Food was delicious and service was awesome....music performed by Frosty was amazing
VERY NICE LOCATION FOR AN INTIMATE MEAL, LOW NOISE AND A NICE ATMOSPHERE
AMORE USED TO BE AN EXCELLENT RESTAURANT. MAITRE D WAS LESS THAN WELCOMING. ON A SATURDAY NIGHT THERE WAS A TOTAL OF 7 TABLES BEING SERVED. WE ARRIVED AT 6:30 TO FIND ONLY 4 DINERS WE LEFT AT 9:30 AND NO ONE WAS THERE. THE SERVER WE HAD , ANNA, WAS VERY ATTENTIVE. THE APPETIZERS WERE VERY GOOD, AND THAT'S WHERE IT ENDED. I AM SURE IT HAS CHANGED OWNERS SINCE WE WERE LAST THERE. ITS BEEN AT LEAST 3 YEARS BECAUSE OF CHANGES IN OUR LIVES. READ THE REVIEWS AND THOUGHT WE WOULD TRY AGAIN. ITS A 40 MINUTE RIDE FOR US, AND FOR THE OTHER COUPLE WHO CAME IN FROM NY. WE HAD AN ENJOYABLE EVENING BECAUSE WE HAVEN'T BEEN TOGETHER IN A WHILE. BUT WERE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THE FOOD. THE COLD RECEPTION WE RECEIVED FROM THE MAITRE D, AND THE EMPTY TABLES ON A SATURDAY NIGHT, SHOULD HAVE BEEN OUR CLUE WE WERE NOT IN FOR A GREAT MEAL. WE WILL NEVER RETURN. THEY DIDN'T EVEN RESPOND TO AN E MAIL EXPRESSING OUR DISAPPOINTMENT. PEOPLE SHOULD NOT WASTE THEIR MONEY HERE. TOO MANY GOOD RESTAURANTS AROUND THE AREA.
restaurant run down ,carpets dirty and old, food disappointing
Most tender calamari I've ever had. Excellent service. Very reasonably priced. Definitely will return!
Disrespectful, didn't care that I had 2 elderly people in party and didn't honor reservation!
We have always loved going to Amore. No more. They did not honor our Open Table reservation, and said despite their best efforts Open Table does not work. I showed them my email and explained that we have used Open Table in the past successfully with them and countless other restaurants. The maitre d' said this was not his problem. I explained that we have eaten at Amore many times and this was a complete embarrassment as my family who had traveled out of town was looking forward to eating there. He still was unmoved by the fact that I had used Open Table. I told him I would not be coming back, and he said "THAT'S FINE, DOES IT LOOK LIKE WE NEED YOUR BUSINESS". Why in the world would ANYONE want to eat there. I like the owner very much and respect him - but unless and until this maitre d' leaves or is fired, we are NEVER going back to Amore - and will STRONGLY recommend the same to our friends and family. This kind of hubris is exactly what causes restaurants to close. So we'll see if they need my business, or that of our friends and family. NOT RECOMMENDED.
The words "inattentive" and “unapologetic” come up short when trying to explain our experience on Easter Sunday 2018. While me might expect some delays on a special occasion day like this we were overwhelmed with a horrible, impersonal experience by a maître d, hostess, and waiters who had total disregard and lack of consideration for what was happening (or what “was not” happening).
Our experience can only be explained with the following notes:
1. Got seated 35 minutes after our arrival while we could see several tables cleared but not set and ready for seating.
2. Sat at the table for 20 min. with no attention other than water. Had to ask the maître d for menus.
3. Waited 25 minutes and had to ask the maître d if someone was going to take our order because no one had shown up yet. He came over to take the order himself.
4. 20 minutes later appetizers came out barely warm, and we decided it was too risky to send back.
5. 40 minutes later no dinner served yet. Went back to the harried maître d to ask what was going on. He went to the kitchen himself and personally brought dinner out 15 minutes later with another waiter.
6. Dinners were warm and obviously had been sitting for a while just like the appetizers. No one followed up to see if dinner was ok or if we needed anything.
7. 20 minutes after finishing dinner no one cleared the table and we had to ask a random passing waiter.
8. No one came to ask if we wanted dessert/coffee. I had to ask the maître d for the check that took another 15 minutes to obtain. Not surprisingly no one came to pick it up so we got up to leave and I paid the maître d at the door.
It was unfortunate experience but one that could have been eased a bit if there was some acknowledgment/apology of the short handedness and very poor service.
Sorry but with an Italian name. No Italians seem to work there and although I have nothing against Latino people, I prefer Italians in an Italian restaurant. Your wine and food is way over priced for the quality. It was no wonder the restaurant was 10% full and 90% EMPTY !!
Sat eve 7:30, half empty usually not a good sign. Started with a Caesar salad. Lettuce was not really crisp, dressing was just OK. I had a chicken (Scarpiello type dish). It was good, I did enjoy it. Wife had a pasta dish that was not good. Sauce was very bland, pasta over cooked. Will not be returning. Also decor is a bit outdated, needs some upgrades.
I am not sure what happened. I had a reservation for 9:00/9:15pm. The restaurant listed it as open till 10pm that night and the restaurant allowed for that reservation time to be made. But when my girlfriend and I got there, the restaurant was locked!!! We could see into the downstairs bar area and there were a few people still there. Also there was a performer. But the restaurant part was all lights out. I did not even receive a call or text or voicemail to say they were closing early. It was a disappointment for sure but we went elsewhere instead.
Great place with amazing food and can bring your own wine! Wayne’s best kept secret. This place should be packed every night!
Food was excellent. Service was great. Specials were nice. We would recommend and go again.
Food was quit good. Service however was simply bad. Looks NG waits, ignored requests. Would not go back.
This is a wonderful restaurant with pleasant ambiance and excellent menu choices. We went on a Tuesday evening when there were not too many patrons, so noise level was not a factor. Had a good-sized table right by the fireplace. Service was friendly and efficient. Food (large portions) was well prepared and delicious. This was our second visit there, and we will return.
Delicious food, nice place, great service!! We had a great time celebrating my son's 21st birthday!!
First time there. Very good. Will definitely go back
Very good, surprised not busier on a Saturday night.
Went with my family. Have a great time, the service was very good and the food was excellent. Would absolutely go again with friends. We're putting this on our short list.
The food is consistently high quality. The wait staff is friendly but a bit shy. They don’t push cocktails like most do.
Food and sangria were excellent! Would recommend trying it out great service.
The warm, friendly service is only surpassed by the exceptional, authentic Southern Italian cuisine. Their styffed artichokes are the best that I have had, matching my own Mother's flavors and tenderness.
The current ownership has brought class to the entire operation. I would not hesitate to bring a business client for lunch or dinner for private discussions (in the fireplace room further from the bar entrance) or a date for a romantic evening. The tables are well spaced.
I cannot make a stronger recommendation. Enjoy!!!
