The food was okay! The food requires a little bit of salt and more flavor. The service was good when you sit down but when you walk in you don’t know where to go.
i love Amma! Consistently great service, food and ambiance. Definitely will recommend to anyone looking for authentic Indian food.
What a wonderful restaurant! The staff are friendly and attentive. The sommelier is excellent, pairing wine with spicy lamb vindaloo is not easy! The food was excellent and inventive. We had a splendid evening!
Attentive service and good quality/flavorful food. however lunch service took over an hour but would return for dinner
We were a party of sic and had the dinner sample. It was an awesome experience full of flavor!!
Amazing food, as always. Service is sublime. A true gem in Midtown.
Really good service and the food was amazing. We had the vegetarian tasting menu for 2 and wow!! Very tasty and seriously filling. Came out at a good pace, nice drinks and the service was perfect. Very friendly and we will be back!
Great Northern Indian food and awesome service
I like amma. I go there pretty often but this time I felt the lamb chops a bit chewy and under cooked whereas the bones were completely charred. I did mention well done but wasn’t happy with the meat almost close to medium rare.
We really enjoyed Amma - we loved the idea of an Indian "tasting course" with wine pairings to make it feel like a special occasion and it really delivered. Our only complaint was that we got so full halfway through! The sommelier was especially great.
Amazing restaurant, consistent and delicious food, same as since 18 years ago that I was there for the first time
I’ve been visiting this restaurant for business lunch for many years now. The food always impresses my guests, many of whom start visiting this place on their own after their first meal and even start going there with their guests! I like the food there. Every time my family has gone with me for dinner, they loved it.
I love this restaurant and think their biryani is the best I've ever tasted.
Amma is my favorite restaurant in NY. I love the food, the people are very friendly, and it is a nice place to have a business or casual lunch/dinner.
Fantastic authentic food with very friendly service. Attractive small room. Noise level was perfect and not too loud. We loved this restaurant!
Fresh, well cooked and delicious.
Service was great
Excellent Indian restaurant. The decor is tasteful. The service is careful. The food is an exploration of flavors and textures. You don’t need to yell to be heard. Highly recommend.
The server presented the restaurant week fixed price menu like it was the only alternative and didn't mention that we could order from the regular menu. The restaurant week menu was overpriced for the food offered.
Staff was very professional and very polished. Loved the soft music and the food was amazing!
Trip to NYC
Dependable good Indian food, no frills or fancy. Extensive wine list & a very knowledgeable sommelier.
Terrific Indian food with great service and quaint & romantic ambiance. Good for date-night or business dinner.
Lovely restaurant with warm service and THE BEST Indian food in Midtown.
Delicious food and incredible wine list. Fancy enough for a special occasion or business dinner but neighbor-hoody enough to bring kids, eat alone, or pickup takeout - we saw all of the above. Will definitely be back!
The ambiance and service were excellent. The food was very good, but not quite excellent. Still we would definitely eat there again.
This was my second trip to Amma. This time we did the Chef’s tasting and it was Fantastic!!! If you love Indian food (or even if you’ve never tried it) this restaurant is a must when in NYC!
Excellent service identifies this gem of a restaurant. Attentive service and delicious food options (they know what to recommend you!). I am a fan of this place
The dessert we ordered was spoiled and instead of taking it off the bill they pushed a different dessert and charged us for it!!
They also never checked in to see how our meal was going and then left us until we called them over even though we had been done eating with utensils down and leaning back for over ten minutes.
Amma is our favorite restaurant in New York. Its food is among the very best Indian restaurants in the City and I can say, having visited India in February, that its food rivals the very best I had in India as well. Its cuisine is both imaginative and traditional. The tandoori breads arrive HOT-- like they should. And you must have the spinach chaat as it is the signature dish at Amma. But it is our favorite not only because of the food but because of the warm service we are the beneficiaries of every time we dine there. The waitstaff is attentive without being overly so. The sommeliers always suggest something delicious to drink. In sum, Amma gets it right. Don't walk, run to Amma for a meal that will leave you very happy you did!
The food is tasty and the service is good. I would recommend it to others.
Food and service are still great but the physical plant is looking shabby. Dirty/stained chair coverings and a grungy restroom diminish the experience.
Superb menu and wine selections, food was delicious, service outstanding.
The Best Indian Restaurant in NYC! Make sure you try the butter chicken and special Cauliflower!
Food is excellent, value fine, service a bit sluggish
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when we walked in. The decor is a bit dated and the seats aren’t very comfortable, but the service and food blow those things out of the water! What a great find for delicious Indian food! I haven’t had better butter chicken in years. A good selection of wine as well to pair with whatever you decide to eat. I would definitely recommend it and would go again. Thank you to the very kind and attentive staff!!
Good taste and quality of food. Too many people out to help, however need more people inside the kitchen to help cook food. Took forever to get the food, slow in serving food. Over all great experience.
Our favorite Indian place in the city!
Excellent service. The food was very good. I thought it was a tad expensive, but what do I know. I'm from Pennsylvania!
