Alta Strada- DC
Come for date night, with the family or hang out at the bar. We cannot wait to cook for you!
tomato + basil + mozzarella
crispy brussels + potatoes + salsa rossa
Great food with attentive and helpful service. Very comfortable atmosphere but not fancy. Though not a huge menu, it is plenty varied to satisfy everyone with a good wine list. Prices are about as expected for DC. Definitely would go back.
Great atmosphere, excellent service, and the food was even better. Definitely recommend.
Very delicious and great value! Wonderful wine and wide array of options!
The brunch food, drinks, and service was great! The one part about the bill that we did not understand was that they add a 3% charge on the bill for some reason that is NOT the gratuity but do not explain reasoning behind it.
A great neighborhood spot with amazing service and tasty food. This is a real go-to place.
Accommodated our large party .
Great Brunch and fun and friendly staff
Awesome bottomless brunch! Everything was great!
Great food at a very competitive price for DC brunch.
Unfortunately, the service was sub-par, with long waits between ordering dishes. Often the table had finished the dishes ordered and were left waiting for the server to return for new orders.
Went for a large group bottomless food & drink brunch. The meal was an excellent value, the food was delicious, and the drinks were strong and had a great variety of options. The ambiance of the restaurant was great, and would recommend for big or small brunch parties. Definitely will return!
Got to come to Alta Strada on a Valentines special menu. While this place is usually known for their home style Italian, when they decide to pull out the stops on a classy date night menu with beef tartare and Ny Steak they really shined! Every part of the meal was delicious from complementary champagne to tiramisu. The only thing we would have wished for was a little more attentive service but who doesn't like a little more time with their special someone.
Went in this past month for the Valentine’s Day special. Food was great, server was very attentive. The lobster ravioli was delicious, as well as the steak. Would highly reccomend.
I came here with my boyfriend for our anniversary and the beginning of dinner was sub-par. I put a note in my reservation that I wanted a nice table and got sat in a dark and tight space. I asked to change tables but the manager said they were unavailable. This was fine, but when the food got to our table I was underwhelmed. Definitely not worth $19. It was good, but not great. Service was good though. Probably won’t be coming back.
Overall a very good experience but with a few quibbles: our server was a bit intrusive, repeatedly came over to "check" on us when we were in the middle of the meal, he wasn't really offering anything and it got overly repetitive. My entree was not as described: I ordered shrimp piccata which on the menu made no mention of chili oil. I had asked the server several questions about dishes letting him know I could not do anything spicy but the shrimp was spicy, The waiter should have known that. A manager did come over when I said I could not eat the dish and graciously and quickly replaced it, also sending over a free dessert. That was handled perfectly but it should not have happened. The menu should be clear and the waiter should have known.
The PEI mussels in wine sauce were outstanding as usual, as was the shrimp piccata entree, a first for me. My husband went for the sausage rigatoni, the usual for him that he claims is delicious. The staff was very helpful in turning down the really loud music (probably turned up for the Friday evening happy hour crowd at the bar).
The food and service was excellent.
Tried it for the first time as a result of restaurant week. Had the brunch but had to pay extra for the full brunch. However the food was excellent especially the Brussels sprouts and French toast sticks! Yum!
Great service by our waiter, who brought out a free piece of cake when he heard it was my birthday.
Thoroughly enjoyed dinner, we were visiting from out of town, discovered Alta Strada searching for DC Italian restaurants, and loved the place - great casual vibe and delicious food.
We went during restaurant week and luckily the restaurant was not crowded. Although my guest had already been seated when I arrived, they could not locate my OpenTable reservation, finally offered to find a table only to realize they had already seated my guest. This was no big deal, but it should not have happened. The service was friendly and good but the sever could have contributed more to our experience. The manager did ask around to see if people were enjoying their meals which was unexpected and nice. The food was quite good and the portions were appropriate. We would go back.
It was awesome. One thing - my cacio e Pepe was a little spicy. Would’ve liked if some one let me know.
The food was amazing. The wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was very good except for Brussels sprouts which were way too salty. Wine was just ok - Chianti overpriced for the quality. Service was good - not intrusive. Have been here several times, and still like it very much
We had our first visit during restaurant week. We enjoyed a great meal. Service was excellent. We’ll be back!
Phenomenal job by the entire staff and the food was amazing
Our server wasn't exactly warm, and the food was just okay for the price point.
Food orders had to be put in multiple times, entree ordered without meat still came out with meat on it. The bottomless brunch ended prior to the 2 hour limit. Unwilling to split check.
Terrific classic Bolognese. That’s my test for good Italian.
Nice environment and service, but small portions and not a large selection available.
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant, outwardly unpretentious but featuring skilled cooking, notable in vegetables and pastas (cacio & pepe in particular). If we lived here we’d be regulars
Beautiful home made foods and great service. We really enjoyed the food, wine and full menu
Seemed like there was only 1 waiter so everything took a long time. Got our order wrong. Charged us incorrectly.
The fried calamari was average which was disappointing based on previews reviews.
The chicken parmigiana was average and came accompanied with broccoli whiich was dr
Altra Strada has become one of our "go to" spots. Great Italian "comfort food"!!! Always a consistent and welcoming experience. Management is always attentive and interacts with the customers to make it a great dining experience!
It the greatest food, service was only ok. Tried to charge 26.00 for some plain penne
We went here to celebrate my wife’s birthday. This year selecting a place was a little harder due to her switching to eating vegetarian. The menu had something for everyone that attended. The pizza which we selected for the last go round was absolutely delicious.
The staff was very attentive and the bottomless mimosas were just what everyone wanted. I would definitely be going back one evening for dinner.
Everything was great, especially the food!
rolled truffle lasagna was amazing
Save room for dessert! Bomboli is worth the extra time at the gym. Food was excellent and wait staff was friendly, though a little wishy washy on making recommendations.
Yummy food. The garlic bread, eggplant Parmesan and pear tart are to die for
