Slightly under whelmed after the reviews I had seen, felt the menu was quite limited, took ages to get a drink both at the bar and seated. Waiter could have been friendlier.
I had to send my meal back as it was not hot. our drinks also did not arrive till way after our mains and we had to ask for them at least twice. I have never had a bad meal at Albert Shed but this time I feel was probably the more negative experiences. it would not stop me from coming back as I have always had a good meal every other time.
Excellent food choice and quality. Service was a bit hit and miss although serving staff were very pleasant . We twice ordered drinks at the table that didn’t arrive (but one round was complimentary due to wait). Very busy so staff slow to clear glasses etc from table. Putting it down to one off - will definitely return as good do good
Came for our Mother’s 80th Birthday had a nice table but felt a bit cramped. We waited a while for our food to be served and the service at the bar was very slow and there was no customer service with staff behind the bar just going through the motions such a shame for a special occasion.
The 2 course lunch menu is good value for money. Unfortunately for some reason the main course taken too long and we had to ask staff before they even noticed the delay for main course to be served. An apology for delay was given by manager. A bit of a disappointment on this occasion for drop in standard.
The £12.50 set lunch menu is exceptional - a wide choice of dishes and first rate presentation. It never feels like “an economy menu”, and I can’t recommend it enough
Excellent ambience and service from both kitchen and staff. Table linen and cutlery at a high standard, with food preparation and taste also great. Visited with friends who were equally impressed.
Very impressed with the food, service and value. Will be going back again soon.
Service ridiculously slow even though we had about 6 waiters/waitresses! Food burnt/cold/dry/wrong. Drinks took 30 mins both times. Awful experience for a special occasion. Very disappointing.
Gorgeous evening, so we decided to sit outside and eat, lovely atmosphere and helpful staff. We had to wait a while for our drinks but this was quickly dealt with by the manager, she was very professional and I would definitely employ her, she is an asset to the restaurant.
Food was very good. Thank you
It was a perfect setting for lunch as the weather was gorgeous. The service and food were excellent. Many thanks to all the staff
I had lunch with 3 friends and we all had the set menu which was beautifully served and very tasty.
Service quite slow, we had to remind the waiter we had ordered a bottle of wine
The sun was quite strong and was right in my husbands face, we asked if there was any way to shield him- he couldn’t see to eat- the waiter just said “no”. Not even an offer to change tables, and there were tables free! Disappointing
As always Albert's restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend Albert's restaurant to all my friends and family.
Food and service was amazing. Highly recommend.
And reasonably priced aswell.
This would have been a perfect score except for the abrupt manner of one your front of house staff. Initially ask if we would like to wait in the bar area or directly to the table. Before I could reply told it would be our table since we were late. I check my watch we were 2 minutes late. We would have been early but found it difficult to park.
The serving staff was helpful and attentive.
Really lovely, great service and on our doorstep, lovely food and atmosphere, could do with more offers on the cocktails
A lovely delicious meal with friends that catered for all our different dietary requirements (gluten free and vegan). Great atmosphere and attentive staff. We will certainly dine here again.
We called in for tea on Friday . We went off the 2 courses for 12-5o menu. My start was smoked salmon tart with beetroot this was delicious my husband chose the squid in a lovely sauce. Our waiter was attentive and prompt.
My main disappointment was with the steak and chips the steak was tough and the chips hard and over cooked.my husband had the fish and chips which was excellent.
There was a nice buzz in the restaurant.
I usually go to Manchester Alberts and have always had a nice meal .
Have been to the Didsbury site a few times, my first visit to this site
Great food - fairly priced ( we had the lunch special ). Would recommend without hesitation and will be returning
great friendly staff, good food and good environment.
Friendly atmosphere, with excellent food and good service
First visit but will not be our last. A big thank you to all the staff, not forgetting the great chefs behind the scenes.
Great atmosphere and attentive staff. Food is second to none and good value for money. My family have eaten here at least 3 times a year and we always enjoy ourselves
Food was hit and miss unfortunately. Not up to the usual standards.
Lovely restaurant but sometimes very noisy when band playing
The location is really good, outside the City centre, easy to get to. Parking was great quite easy to find and access. Food was good but not exceptional. Service was average to bad.
Our order came out just as the shifts changed, we had ordered amongst roast dinners and others (table of 7) two of the most expensive dishes on the menu..
The seafood plate..no Asian coleslaw, no shallot vinegar or caper berries. In fact not so well presented at all.
The £30 a head tomahawk roast..no yorkshire pudding, no gravy, no mash, half the rest of the veg missing.
After looking at the back of the heads of 6 wait staff stood at the pass looking intently into the kitchen for 10 or 15 minutes we got up and got attention. Then a wait for Yorkshire pudding, then a further wait for gravy, after that gave up with the veg.
To be fair with the wait staff the pass should have someone in charge ensuring dishes go out complete and as sold but if they spent 25% of the time looking into the restaurant they would notice customers looking for attention.
Just some more attention to detail in the kitchen required, someone paying attention at the pass and wait staff that pay attention to their assigned tables.
Yet another amazing meal at Alberts.. We’ve always loved the food yet felt desserts let the side down a little bit.. The dessert menu has changed slightly and is an absolute game changer!! 10/10 for absolutely everything
I’m sad to say again very poor , me and my husband have always said alberts at worsley is one of our favourite places as we had our 1st date there 4 years ago , we spent New Year’s Eve n family occasions we dine with yourselves quite often, weekends and mid week . I will be wary of doing so now as on this occasion it was my husbands birthday the service was slow and the starts and deserts was very disappointing, the duck starter was awful think it has changed from when I last had it and the scallops we received 3. My last visit I was on a table of 12 and again the same issues, just want to say as we don’t want to give up dinning with ourselves. Our bill came to £75 and was just not worth that for what we had I’m afraid. Hopefully next time it’s an improvement
Aware and quite content that we could not order until 12.30 we were taken to our table and served our drinks and then looked at the menu to select our food. We asked twice at 12.45 for someone to take our choices. Told our waiter hadn't yet arrived, but the lady waitress said she would do so. She was very polite and helpful. I recollect us having 3 different waiters serving us at various stages. 2 of the starters were not good at all - 1 was returned as too rich in garlic and the other half eaten. The latter being over sized, very thick and greasy batter. The Manageress? on coming to see what the problem was with the mushroom starter, actually informed us that she agreed as she had already told the chef that morning to go easy with the garlic, so was very apologetic. An alternative dish or free drink was offered, but was declined. The cheese & onion pie was disastrous! Full of mash instead of just cheese & onion, plus the chips (blocks of potato) were not to our particular taste at all. The pasta dish was very oily and greasy (after the diner already having coped with the thick battered and greasy starter). Finally, the pot of tea was fine, but offered brown sugar cubes to accompany it?? Having visited and dined here a few years ago, it was a real disappointment for all 3 of us ladies yesterday. Despite 2 of the dishes being deducted off the bill, this was not we were aiming for. We dine a lot in different venues, areas etc., and have to say that this was without doubt the most disappointing of them all. Needless to say, we won't be returning and wouldn't recommend Albert's Worsley to our family and/or friends either.
Great service great food good service always a great night out
Lovely evening in Alberts celebrating my daughters first teaching job. food was gorgeous as always, service was fantastic.
Special mention to Estelle, thank you for the complimentary glass of fizz, it made our evening even more special!
We will be back again soon!!
Everything was excellent. Great service from the start, quick and immaculate. No unnecessary or pushy selling. Brilliant food, timely arrival etc. Our waiter Macaulay was funny, clever, extremely professional. He made our evening complete. We were delighted and will definitely recommend.
I’ve been to Alberts many times the food has always been good (not amazing) but this particular time we were all pretty disappointed with our food, my Mum left hungry! It was clearly a very busy time and the service wasn’t great. I feel this place is a little over rated sadly, it’s location and no competition in the area helps massively. The two course meal deal is a good option but this wasn’t available at the weekend. Unfortunately I won’t be rushing back.
Fantastic food & the service was good. Our only issue was the delay in the wine being brought to the table. Our starters had arrived before it did. But it was very busy so was understandable.
Had friends over from Newcastle, and we were all happy with the food, lovely staff, ambience. They said they were glad l had chosen to eat at Alberts, and they would be looking out for an Albert's in Newcastle. We all left very happy with everything, and l come regularly to Albert's, and the food is always delicious. Thank you.
Food fantastic and good value for money was lovely lunch with my daughter.
As always really enjoyed Alberts very happy with everything had a lovely evening. The drinks were too dear though.
Always enjoyment . will be booking soon for another food experence
