Amidst the hustle and bustle of busy Covent Garden is the relaxing sanctuary of Brigit’s Bakery or B Bakery as we like to call it. Come and relax with a coffee and cupcake before you hit the shops or stop for Afternoon Tea with a glass of champagne or even a bite to eat before your evening out.

We have private rooms and seating downstairs, so if you want to get away from the crowds and have your own space, then come and visit us. You’ll be very glad you did!

We also offer gluten free*, vegetarian and halal Afternoon Teas. Please specify requirements upon reservation.

Booked a table for tea to celebrate my elderly mother's birthday. We really enjoyed ourselves. The savouries and pastries were delicious! Have yet to try the scones, as we were so full up we had to bring them home. Very impressed that each goody bag contained its own little pot of clotted cream and jam. My mother was delighted with the little birthday candle and the Happy Birthday inscribed on the shard of chocolate. Little things like that leave a lasting impression. The ambience was warm and friendly as were the staff. Hope to return again when next in town

The young lady who tended to us was lovely and upbeat despite the heat that she was working in. Thank you for making it a lovely experience.

I have been a regular customer B bakery and have been taking friends there for years when I have been in London. This time I took my friend who is Australian and who had never been before. The service, atmosphere and overall look of the afternoon tea cannot be faulted. However, the food was not quite as up to scratch as it usually is. As it is a french bakery, you usually get a tartlet and some flavoured bread. It just didn't seem quite a as good this time, but anyone who is going for a first time would be delighted and I would still recommend this.

We go to B Bakery approximately three times each year when we travel down from the North West to see the ballet. We are always recognised and treated kindly and with respect and warmth. The food is always excellent and freshly prepared. We have no need to go anywhere else on our visits because we always are excited to go to B Bakery.

To all,

This was our first experience of Afternoon Tea, a pleasant and delicious one may I add!

pros:
- great food (wide variety of foods)
- quiet
- atmosphere

cons:
- the upstairs had a very horrible smell of bacon and eggs (which did over power the entire room).
- Service was average

The cakes were absolutely lovely and the savouries were nice too - as long as you’re not a particularly fussy eater. The afternoon tea was a set menu and we had some difficulty trying to negotiate a selection of savouries we actually liked and were able to eat. But the service was charming, and the restaurant is very lovely - I would highly recommend this place if you like patisserie.

Got together with friends and had a lovely leisurely afternoon tea. We had reserved and requested a high chair which had been all set and ready for us upon arrival. The service was outstanding. They helped us get downstairs with everything and were accommodating throughout the afternoon. This made us feel welcome and relaxed. The food was very tasty especially the pretzel sandwich. We never felt rushed and were reassured we could take our time. We all thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon.

They had no record of our booking on open table despite me having all the confirmations . They were brusque, said they could find us a table once another party finished in around 30 minutes. No accommodation for our dietary requirements that we had sent in advance . We left and no one even noticed , that's how poor it was!!

Our afternoon tea experience was excellent. The tea selection was varied and the tea was well prepared and poured out of the pot tasting very good. The sandwiches and pastries were creative and delicious and a nice touch is quiche. The scones at the end made the order different and were warm and delicious. The crockery is very attractive.

Service was friendly and helpful. The decor is attractive and the ambience welcoming.

This was my second visit to BB Bakery for afternoon tea. The selection was abundant and delicious. They have a very nice variety of teas, as well as coffees. They offer a lunch menu that is equally appealing. The atmosphere was comfortable and I never felt rushed. Reservations are necessary, especially for afternoon tea. I definitely recommend.

I took my mum here for a afternoon tea for her birthday, I stated when I booked it was for a special occasion and it was for Champagne afternoon tea, when we arrived we waited for someone to greet us but then ended up having to go to the counter, I told her I made a reservation for 15:00, she was looking for ages then told me it was for 15:30 when I had the booking saying 15:00, she then brought a menu over asking what we would like I told her I booked afternoon tea, I didn't want my mum to see the prices on the menu as they are so expensive, she then told us afternoon tea would be £36 pp, my mum felt slighty embarrassed I was spending so much for it, she just didn't want to see the prices as I was paying. We sat next to a crying child the entire time, not sure it's the kind of place for a child but none said anything, none came to check on us, they brought us breakfast tea but no milk so we had to wait and ask, overall the food was great but I'm not sure I would pay £36 pound for it, way overpriced for what we got, the attitude from the staff was rude like they didnt want to speak to you or help, they aslo added a service charge I didn't want to pay as I wasn't happy with the service, wouldn't vist again.

There really is no better place for afternoon tea in London, as far as I am concerned. I've been to all the big name places. Not one of them has food that is as good. Not one of them feels as cozy and fun as BB Bakery.

Reserved a table for 2 friends and myself for a Sunday catch-up and afternoon tea. Booking was easy and received confirmation for it straight away.
On the day, we were all running late by about 20 mins, and when I called BB Bakery to let them know, they were very nice and helpful and said that it was not an issue.
They had kept a very nice and cosy corner by the window. Upon arrival, you are being given a complimentary freshly squeezed orange juice, which is always nice.
When the waitress came to take our order, she was friendly and quick.
Then the fun started when the cake stand arrived. For afternoon tea, you are given bite-sized little gems, both savoury and sweet, and with a good balance between the different flavours and textures. We had all skipped lunch as we knew we would have food there, but trust me, there was more than enough to feed all of us; despite being nearly 8 months pregnant and having a very good appetite for all things nice, I could not finish my portions.
And when you are finished with the stand, you still have your own little cream tea to come. Though lovely, I had to leave half of mine!
So overall, the food was delicious, varied and plentiful, and the staff was watchful, but not annoyingly present.
We ended up staying for more than 3 hours there, as the atmosphere was nice and cosy on a grey Sunday afternoon, and we had a lovely time. My friends had even asked the staff to hide a massive cardboard box (a present to me)at the back so that I would not see it!
People came and went constantly, but it was never unpleasantly crowded or loud.
I would definitely go back there!

BB Bakery is my all time favourite location for a gluten free afternoon tea, so I wanted to share it with my fellow gluten free friends. Sadly when we arrived our reservation wasn't there even though I had an OpenTable email confirmation the day before. They couldn't accommodate us bc they didn't have any gluten free ingredients in stock. The woman was able to reschedule our reservation for the following day which which was a bit of a hassle but everyone's allowed to mix up. Her customer service was good and offered us complimentary glasses of prosecco and a gluten free cake for our troubles.
