The cuisine truly upholds the name of Fine Portuguese/Spanish Dining, seafood and fish, organic meats, the freshest ingredients and to maintain the tradition, huge portions are to be expected. The menu is seasonal and in addition to a varied selection of delectable dishes to satisfy any palette, daily specials are always featured. The wine list with over 180 selections is an ambitious one that keeps growing, but sure not to disappoint the discriminating connoisseur.
Super service and even better food...lots of it too! Would return again no problem. Nice for a date...somewhat upscale.
Perfect place for a romantic evening. Amazing food, great service, beautiful atmosphere.
Dinner was truly exceptional. Atmosphere extremely attractive and cozy. Lima our server was superb, very friendly and efficient. Food was amazing. Ordered 1 lb Halibut that was the best I ever had. Salmon, Skirt Steak, Filet Mignon all exceptional. Overall service was great. A great dining experience, will definitely go back. You will not be disappointed. We ate as a pre show dinner at Prudential. They were very aware of our need to eat timely to get to the show on time.
The new gem of Ironbound!
Great meal, service and experience. We enjoy more every time we go.
Had the Snails and Paella. Both were ready delicious. My son had the veal chops and they were tasty but could have been more tender.
Staff was really nice very professional love the decor as well
The interior was beautiful and very comfortable. The appetizers, entrees, and sangria were delicious.
Always great food and great service.
Service was outstanding!
Quality of food was poor.
Our beef was tough and hard, and the french fries were really potato chips.
Very disappointed & outrageously OVERPRICED!!
The food & sangria were fantastic. The service was attentive & impeccable. We also truly enjoyed our desserts. Looking forward to dining here again!
Everything was great except sangria is to expensive for the sizes the jars is to small and they fill have with ice for 30.00
It was an overall good experiences with the exception of the slow service.
Nice upscale place. Great vibe. Polite, courteous, professional staff with amazing food.
....BUT, the service was slow. Arrived on the half hour, was promptly seated, then waited 20 minutes for them to ask for drinks and starter.
Overall, spent 1 1/2 there. It should have taken only an hour. THAT said, I do recommend this place and will go back again. There food is incredible and you can "taste the love" in your meal.
Our seating was for 8 and our table was available early which was wonderful. We were eating ahead of attending a concert and our waiter was prompt on all requests without even knowing about our evening's engagements. The food was impeccable and EVERYONE enjoyed their selection! The staff was highly attentive and the restaurant's updates are beautiful.
We arrived at the time of our reservations and were promptly seated. I liked that the restaurant/our table was well lit. The food and drinks were very good. The staff was attentive and friendly.
It was my stepmoms birthday, great service the waiters are multi linjgual
Let me start off by saying the service here is phenomenal. The waiters are beyond nice and they’re always available to assist you. You will definitely get your moneys worth here. The cost of each dish on the menu matches the quality and the amount of food you receive. I would definitely recommend this place for a first date, a special occasion, or even for a friends get together.
The food, waiter and service were all EXCELLENT. Put it on your list of places to go!
Our first time there. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the food was exceptional. We love Portuguese food and have been disappointed with our usual places. Adega Grill is top on our Portuguese restaurant list.
Service was Fantastic. From the Bar on to the Table. We were treated like Kings!!! On top of that the food was Incredible!!! We were able to pick our steaks from a loin that was being freshly cut while we were there. Everyone at the table (7 of us) were very happy with our choices!
Unbelievable service from their staff! The pitcher of Red Sangria was delicious! Every dish ordered was loved with plenty left over for the next day. Every table seem to be having a great time whether they were with a group or on a date. The Portuguese bread that the waiter gave us was phenomenal! Ask for it!
all of the dishes were amazing including the 4 appetizers. you will not leave there hungry that's for sure.
The food is awesome but the tables are very cramped. I was seated next to a vent on the wall and had nowhere to get away from the vent.
Love this place! Excellent food and service
Great restaurant! Awesome food and atmosphere!
Food and service was fantastic - 35th anniversary dinner - perfect!
Can't miss with Adega, charming ambiance, great service and of course awesome Portuguese food.
Try the Seafood Platter for 2, you'll be happy!
Went here for the first time and was looking forward to a great meal and experience. From the time I walked in the door it was not pleasant. The hostess was horrible to put it mildly. She had a sour face the whole time, bad attitude, no smiling, and looked as though she did not want to be there. I was friendly and smiled and tried to be pleasant to her so she could loosen up but it was clear she didn't care about her job or just didn't know how to do it. We went when it was not that busy and asked for a more intimate seating option as I requested in my reservation. She was no help. There were tables available to accommodate us but she was not willing to accommodate our request. My husband and I made the best of it. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered the mixed grill for 2. The portion was good but the chicken was not thoroughly cooked and the steak had too much black pepper. It was very salty as well. We ordered dessert and it was severely overpriced for what you get. I'm on the fence about going back. If we do it will be in a while before we consider this restaurant again. It seemed like they wanted the image of a high class, high priced restaurant but without high class service.
Excellent service, the steak meal was delicious and well done. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and their family.
Delicious food. Fantastic Sangria. Great service.
Been to Adega Grill a few times and always enjoyed my meals and my time there. This past Saturday night not the same feeling. We were seated quickly and The service was fine but our waiter didn’t seem so warm and friendly. But my overall complaint was the food. Shrimp in Garlic appetizer was outstanding as always, but clams casino was a lump of heavy - almost uncooked crabmeat on clams that were hard to find. Def not a good choice. The Sea Bass special was amazing but I asked for grilled lobster tails that were either not fresh, not grilled , and just not worth it. I’m sorry I didn’t order some of the amazing looking steaks but we’re going to other tables.
I’m very disappointed in our experience.
Tableside chorizo was delicious as well as the garlic shrimp for apps. Red sangria was delicious. We enjoyed both types of paella as well as porterhouse steak and the special snapper with lobster ravioli. We indulged in desert and specialty coffees. Portions were generous and loved the ambience and servers were great.
Excellent service. Ambiance is very nice and food was top notch. Highly recommend Adega Grill.
This place was Great ! Food was awesome servings are a lot .. but good for Sharing! It’s cute warm and cozy . Staff was great !
Excellent food quality, good service and large portions. You will likely take home leftovers
Portion sizes are huge! The food is very good as well. We ordered king crab legs as an appetizer and seafood pasta with vodka sauce and prime rib steak as our mains. I would say the steak was cooked a little more than the medium rare I ordered, but a still very tasty. The pasta was also a bit overcooked instead of a nice al dente, but again, still tasty. The environment is lively and service was good. Would definitely come back to try other dishes.
We come here every NYE. This is our favorite restaurant. We were a party of 8. Our children come with us.
We had the monk fish special, filet mignon, salmon, surf and turf and more. The shrimp and garlic, and calamari is delicious. The sangria is the best. We are never disappointed here. We had a wonderful table by the fireplace. Food, service, ambiance is all A++++. I can't say enough. We love this restaurant.
The Adega Grill was a delightful dining experience in the heart of the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ. The food was excellent and the portions generous, so there was no need to order an appetizer and a main course for everyone at the table. We settled on three appetizers - shrimp w/garlic sauce, crabmeat stuffed mushrooms and flambed Portugese chorizo. All were delicious. The main courses we chose were the Paella Valenciana and a dish from the specials menu, grilled Branzino. We would gladly choose these dishes again but there were so many wonderful sounding things on the menu that I doubt we would get back to those even after five visits. The service was impeccable too and the wine pour was generous! Also it ended up being very good value as all of the dishes we chose easily fed two people and we still brought home leftovers.
The service was good. The food was very good. The stuffed salmon was so good. It was a enjoyable meal.
