Acacia of Lawrenceville
Here at Acacia simplicity is the key, Chef/Owner Christopher Voigtsberger believes in using local ingredients whenever possible. We don’t try to mask ingredients with heavy sauces, instead we like to let the ingredients shine. We believe in showcasing what New Jersey has to offer and putting our own spins on familiar dishes. Great find! Lovely restaurant and inventive menu. Delish! Great service. Would go again.
Service was good, outdoor environment safe. The food was horrendous. Undercooked pasta and corn risotto which was watery white rice (also undercooked) with kernels of corn. The Acacia of old is long gone. Never again...steer clear.
Wonderful evening! Food and service were excellent.
What a gem of a place! Food and service was fantastic! The calamari appetizer and ceviche were both delicious and full of flavor. Homemade pasta dish and sesame crusted tuna were delectable as well! Can't wait to go back!
Another wonderful dinner at Acacia! We started with 4 appetizers, Korean Wings, Fried Green Tomatoes, Ceviche and Ricotta Toast with peaches. Each one was absolutely delicious. My husband could not stop raving about the Smash burger. He said it was probably the best burger he has ever had. The outside dining area is comfortable and the social distancing is perfect. Service as always is friendly and well paced. One of our favorite dining locations.
Good service and food, but parked on the sidewalk along RT 206 with lots of traffic and truck noise made it hard to hear our conversation.
Despite asking for another seat, we were seated closet to the parking lot while ample other seating remained empty the entire time there. Smash burger and roll were both greasy. I thought we found a new regular place to eat but we won’t be back.
Food and service were very good; the server was attentive and easily managed our special requests.
Outside seating works and social distancing is well maintained. Unfortunately the steady and noisy traffic on 206 makes for an annoyance and conversation is difficult. A canopy being planned may make the experience better. Food was excellent and the desserts including Tres Leches cake were exceptional. Highly recommend.
It was delicious —-both the meal & the experience!!!
Food was good and the service was excellent. Wish we were not seated close to the road. Noisy
Great service ! Waiter was very efficient and safe with mask and gloves entire time!
Food and service as always Perfect !!!
The service was amazing and the food was great. We love this restaurant at and will continue to return!
Lovely evening and nice setup for outdoor seating. No vegan options on the menu but I had called ahead and they said no problem they could make vegan dish to accommodate me. In future I’d love to see some permanent vegan menu choices. The vegan dish they made was an adaptation of their most expensive menu item, a tuna dish, basically prepared without the tuna and more vegetables. It was delicious.
It was lovely to sit outside! The food and service were amazing, we felt very safe and were not rushed.
First time there, the food was fantastic and our server Lauren was super attentive. Highly recommend.
It felt great to eat and done outside with all of the chaos going on in the world. Acacia was able to give my boyfriend and I a greta date night out that hasn’t happened in months. Will most definitely be back and telling others about the outstanding dinner we had!
Ate outside for gf's birthday. They did a great job of spacing guests and wearing masks. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Happy to have supported this restaurant during these trying times.
Great service. Great food. Great outside patio. BYOB - great too!!
I love this restaurant!
Outstanding place and food. Nice outside seating under Covid regulations. Come and support them!
Fantastic diner, great food and service. Great to be dining out again.
We had a superb dining experience. Our waiter and other server were so good and personable. The food was exceptional! Unfortunately, due to the ongoing virus the restaurant aa totally empty . We were the only customers! But, we would definitely go back.
Everything was wonderful but the service was uncharacteristically slow. The server indicated it was due to having Pork Chops but we have had that before and they came out more timely. It wasn't terrible by any means but it is the first time we ever had to ask when our food was coming. Otherwise it was great as usual.
I have a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating and the food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend.
Went for the power lunch . Was very food. Service was nice . Beef stew and the coffee cake were very good.
Enjoyed gluten free options.
Easily one of the best meals I've had in the past few years. Excellent creative dishes providing a balance of flavors and preparations. The top appetizer among the 3 ordered was the Salmon tartare. Perfect combination served with a Ponzu sauce, ginger, peanuts and crunchy nappa cabbage. Short rib croquettes and grilled Octopus skewers were good, but the Salmon was excellent.
The table ordered the duck special, day boat scallops and pan roasted salmon. The duck was the most tasty of the 3 though all were enjoyed enough to be ordered again. The duck was tender with a balance of flavors satisfying in a single bite. One of the orders came out rarer than expected and it was whisked away and returned quickly, without a fuss and cooked perfectly.
Service was exceptional. The server provided information about each dish and made recommendations based upon our questions. She was spot on with her recommendations. We had various servers over the course of dinner, we never felt that there was missed beat or a drop in service.
Desserts are worth saving some space for and seemed made on the premises providing a variety of fresh options. Pear Frangipane, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Coffee Cake were the 3 ordered . The Frangipane was perfect for anyone that loves almond flavor but not too overpowering for those that don't worship at the alter of Marzipan to enjoy. The Sticky Toffee Pudding had the faintest hint of spice to it, toffee pieces and looked like it would be a dense cake but quite light. I didn't try the Coffee Cake myself, though the friend that ordered it and the server had a discussion how many think, 'Boring, coffee cake', and it was anything but. They commented about how light and airy it was.
After lingering for well over 1/2 hour talking at our table and the staff never rushed us. I can't believe that in the over 10 plus years I've known about this restaurant this is the 1st time I've gone. It definitively won't be the last.
The mid-winter menu has offered up some wonderful food in the past few weeks. Last evening's combination of octopus skewers and spinach and ricotta agnolotti was outstanding.
Excellent food. Great service. Will definitely go back.
Wonderful location, great food, friendly service.
My wife said we were at this restaurant years ago. I didn’t remember being there. I promise I won’t forget about this restaurant again. Everything great topped off by the best desserts I ever had
Loved the roasted carrot starter. Husband’s duck was perfectly cooked.
Had dinner on Saturday of Valentines day weekend -
The wait staff as well as the water staff etc. did a great job with a overflowing group of dinners.
Hats off to them and the quality of the food did not suffer -- excellant
Valentines Day +1. Had a wonderful time with friends!
Very nice. However it was quite cold in there. Food and service was good tables not too close
Acacia has a $20 Power Lunch menu where one selects an appetizer/sou, or salad and a main entree. With that, one also receives a selected dessert menu. Food was delicious and the price can't be beat!!
We passed this restaurant so many times while our daughter was a student at Rider University...finally visited 8 years later. So glad we did, and so sad we didn't sooner. Great food, great atmosphere, and BYOB to boot!! Will definitely go back again!
Never disappointed at Acacia! Birthday dinner with friends and I requested Rack of Lamb for 3 of us. The lamb was prepared to perfection along with the whipped potatoes and sautéed spinach.
Service is attentive, friendly and professional. Thank you Lauren and Chris for your innovative and delicious menu each season!
