I have been dining at 75 Chestnut for more than 20 years. I’ve been away from Boston for 9 of those years and returned a couple of days ago to discover to my amazement and pleasure that this wonderful neighborhood restaurant has maintained its world class character of excellence and variety in cuisine, warmth of ambiance, and personable yet professional service. My guests - who had never eaten here before - were equally impressed and delighted with the range of choices on the menu. As you have gathered, by reading this review, I love this place and so will you.
The food was tasty but the home fries were barely warm. And, overall the prices were a bit high for what you get.
Server was awesome and and environment was great.
The sitting was spaced and there are plexiglass dividers so I felt safe and comfortable.
Excellent food and service. Please bring back the cinnamon rolls!!
Arrived a few minutes early for our reservation. Were given a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. chose outdoor as it was a beautiful day. Table was ready for our party. Water provided immediately and asked if we wanted drinks from the bar, which 3 of us took advantage of. Access to paperless menu via QR code adjacent to table. Waitress attentive and food order placed and delivered in a timely manner. Asked for umbrella to be opened as the sun got pretty hot and they responded immediately. Wrap up and payment all timely. Very professional. Good service, good drinks, and good food.
We had a wonderful dinner last night at 75 Chestnut. Ashley did a great job helping us with dinner and wine options. We shared a salmon dish (perfectly prepared) and a Bibb lettuce salad, all wonderful. They are doing a good job of sanitizing and distancing tables. Thanks for a great evening. We will definitely be going back soon.
Lovely place, interior and exterior. Great location. Very enjoyable Mother's Day Brunch. Definitely recommend
My first dining experience since Covid started. I felt extremely safe here even though I'm vaccinated. Our waitress had a lovely sense of humor. The food was good as was the atmosphere. Felt so good to dine out!!!
Excellent food, service and communication for a group reservation!
We were a party of four, seated promptly for our reservation. Service was attentive and fast but we weren’t rushed. We were celebrating a college graduation and we were able to enjoy good drinks, conversation and our meals feeling comfortable.
Food was seriously lacking. It was almost flavorless. Service was excellent. Drinks were phenomenal. We didn't feel like we had a good experience for the price just because the food was disappointing. I would recommend this spot for drinks and maybe appetizers but not for dinner.
Great experience all around - will definitely be coming back!
Our waiter was great, food was amazing. No complaints and would definitely come back again. Great job everyone!
Great experience! Great kids menu which helped.
Part of a long weekend date to Boston. Beautiful morning, safe outdoor environment, good menu, attentive and friendly staff, killer Bloody Mary—it was a great way to start a Saturday!
The food pizza and schnitzel were most delicious.
Delicious dinner in beautiful restaurant! Perfect romantic place to celebrate our anniversary! Loved every minute of being there! Thank you 75 Chestnut!
Excellent; soup to nuts!!
75 Chestnut was wonderful. The varied menu provided a choice for each one of us !
The restaurant was clean and busy when we went. The service was excellent however the food was less than stellar. Some food came out cold and some came out without any flavor. Overpriced for sure. I would not eat there again nor will I recommend it to anyone I know.
Bartender was good.
Food was hot and very tasty.
Price was reasonable.
The restaurant was Covid-19 prepared.
Server placed wrong order. She was very kind and nice about it. I’m very happy for all the covid precautions but I wasn’t able to move in my seat nor could my server hear my order correctly through the plexiglass sandwiching me at my high top at the bar (I’m 5’5’’) so rarely a problem for me I can imagine how awful anyone over 5’7’’ experience would be... let’s be safe but also let’s use dividers that allow for some movement when sitting I’d rather just not be at the restaurant. I could not use my left hand to pickup my food as my elbow would hit the glass and very similar on the other side. the omelet I did not order made me sick, although I was offered a fresh one. I declined and left about 35 minutes after arriving. My omelette was comped so I did appreciate that so I tipped 35% for the trouble on two glasses of Prosecco. Won’t be back.
Awesome as always!
First time and won’t be my last. Great cozy atmosphere, great cocktail list and a great selection of spirits. Menu has a good selection and portions are good. I will definitely be back
Everything about our visit to 75 Chestnut was impressive, from the food (quality & variety), to the comfortable atmosphere, and the staff were all super friendly, and in particular our actual server...she was very pleasant & knowledgeable. We came for my birthday, and everything about the night made me feel very special...I would recommend anyone to come here and try them out!
We really enjoyed our time at 75 Chestnut. The food was very good (especially the steak tips) and our waitstaff were attentive and pleasant. The ambience is quiet, cosy and very comfortable. Although we were told there was a 90 minute visit limit, we did not feel rushed at all. This was our first time eating out in a restaurant since the start of the pandemic and we felt entirely safe; the tables are carefully placed and diners are separated by plexiglass. They also have outdoor seating, which we would like to try when the weather gets warmer. Thanks for a lovely time!
Easter Diner with our college daughter.
75 Chestnut is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Great food, service, ambiance all in one of Boston's most picturesque neighborhoods. Awesome spot for brunch and dinner. 5 Stars!
The charm that 75 Cheatnut had is gone. It’s like a diner and not a very good one. We went for Easter but weren’t thrilled with the experience. We won’t be eating there again.
Family Easter Brunch was perfect!! We had reservations and were seated right away. Staff was friendly. Service was quick. Mimosas were delish and the stuffed french toast was amazing!! Will definitely be back to try other meals next time we are in Boston!!
You know when you see mixed online reviews of a place and you decide to go anyways? Well don’t make the mistake I did and go to this place. The fact that a shelf from the wall fell on a party and the person behind us complained that their lobster was fishy within 5 minutes of us getting there and we still proceeded to order is on me and my boyfriend I must say. However, the waitress did not know what cold brew was and prefaced that the only cold coffee option would be relatively watered down, which it certainly was. My boyfriend got a steak and eggs sandwich that was chewy and soggy all at the same time - props to 75 Chestnut for that combination. Honestly I went with the safest option: French toast, which wasn’t horrible but the fact that I didn’t even want French toast but felt I had to order it based on it being the safest option at this restaurant that proved to be in shambles before we even ordered speaks for itself. Save yourself the money and choose from one of the millions of better options in beacon hill please!
It was great!! All of the food was so good. At our table, we got the pork chop, ribeye and carbonara. All of it was fabulous
Excellent food and friendly, responsive service. A wonderful hamlet in beautiful Beacon Hill.
I had a very unpleasant experience. I was served non cooked pork meat and when I showed it to the manager it ended up in a very unpleasant fight, instead of receiving an apology since they were putting my health at risk.
Happy to provide more information.
Thx, Soldano Ferrone
Great setting with delicious food. Great drink and dinner menus choices.
We loved dining at 75 Chestnut. Our reserved table was ready for us when we arrived. The food was excellent. Service was excellent as well.
75 Chestnut never fails - Service was flawless, food delicious and atmosphere charming, cozy and a true neighborhood feel.
Amazing food, very reasonable prices for food+drinks, and the staff were beyond amazing+incredible at accommodating my gluten free date. Would highly recommend.
We were late due to transportation problems, let them know but a packed Sat night with people turned away put demands on staff. They kept our requested table,(celebrating an anniversary) and even surprised us with complimentary dessert..candle included. The food was delicious; service unhurried and gracious (dropped my mask on floor unnoticed, server disposed of it and brought me a new one, unasked). Their unsurpassed commitment to a consistently high quality experience (both food and hospitality) is why this place is surviving the pandemic and continues to be Boston's most reliable quality restaurant and will be for as long as these folks care to be in a tough business. In these crazy times I trust them to be scrupulous with cleaning protocol ....and still their visual charm, the essential cozy experience is intact. You folks blow me away with your consummate professionalism and commitment!
This is a fab local spot. Fresh food. Perfect ambience. Covid protocols are top notch. Highly recommend
