50 Ocean at Boston's On The Beach

I live next door and have been here several times and with better food this would be a wonderful spot. It over looks the beach with big bay windows; indoor and outdoor seating. The food always falls short. Unfortunately not a lot of veggie options and the ones they have are usually fried and/or don’t taste very good. Even the wedge salad was returned last night. Disappointed.
Everything was great!!
Long time customers; my first visit to Delray Beach was started by a brunch here. After that trip, I moved to Florida 4 1/2 years ago.
This place has become a regular first stop for all of our family and friends that come to visit. Needless to say, it’s a casual-upscale-environment and the only place I could have imagined to propose to her.
I would like to thank Noel (sorry if I am butchering the spelling) for the photographs and video that he caught for us. He and the rest of the staff made it the perfect night!
Yellowtail delicious great mussels as well. David was great server friendly and attentive on a busy night. Well done
Food is average. It’s just not smart to expect great New England seafood down in Florida. We ordered whole belly clams.. they were rubbery and overcooked so we sent them back. Server was nice about it but the second attempt was a little undercooked and we all had heartburn after. The Maine lobster roll was very large double portion of flavorless meat. It wasn’t really a Maine lobster roll, there was no mayo and the bun wasn’t toasted and buttered. It was overpriced and we wouldn’t go back. The open table rating is high but Yelp review is much more accurate in the three star range.
Ask for Cindi as your waitress!!!! She made things so enjoyable.
Food was not good at all, should have went to sister restaurant, Boston's, where you expect raw food. Soup was cold, appetizer was not seasoned, one dish had no flavor at all, and lobster was raw. server was great and location is amazing, but when I saw chef at end of night hanging out in the front, I now know why food was so bad.
It was cooler than anticipated so we sat inside instead of outside. We were only going to order appetizers, but couldn't resist the scallop entree w/asparagus risotto. Mussels and 5 dips, including smoked fish (my fave), were grand also. No room for dessert. Excellent server. Wonderful experience, as always
Not a place for a quiet intimate dinner. Serice was good, food OK, but sond quickly turns into noise mainly because of the acoustics
The restaurant next door was blaring music at 7 pm. Service was subpar.
Our waitress Cynthia made our night! Great food, great service.. fabulous
I love your Lobster Bisque..I used to order it with extra lobster..this time it was recommended that I take the extra lobster from a lobster roll entree, which I did..the lobster was not soft and flaky and fresh and it was not what i had enjoyed in the past..the Bisque was terrific..I felt the price rising from $10 to /$30 was no justified because of the quality of the lobster...
Our dinner was delicious and service was great. However we chose to sit inside because the outdoor dining overlooks “The Sandbar” which plays loud music. Indoors was perfect!
Too noisy outside so we are inside but too cold
Service was slow
However the food and drinks is were excellent and so was the view
Cindy is AWESOME! We love her. She makes Brunch an event. Food is always spot on delicious. The Lobster Roll is Amazing!
Great fresh fish.
We return frequently for brunch. This visit was as good as always. Our waitress Lily is wonderful. Food was very good as were enough choices
I have one complaint with an observation-the host was pleasant BUT his off white jacket and trousers were very dirty. This is not a nice presentation for an upscale restaurant. Please make management aware
Nice vibe, just too noisy for a conversation. If we do return, we would probably sit at the bar and eat - you can hear better there than at a table. Food was pretty good - liked the chips and dips appetizer as well as the lobster roll both good spin on classics. It's a great view of the ocean so happy hour might be an even better plan because once the sun goes down it's dark.
Very loud due to bar next door .., had to send meal back as it wasn't cooked properly ... waited 20 mins for it to come back and then finally had to ask waitress to go get
It !! Waited for coffee after dinner for 15 mins .. after our dessert was served ...will not return ... for what we paid it was very disappointing
Best mussels anywhere 😁
Beautiful place and excellent food. Scallops are incredible . My favorite
Michael our server was excellent and the food was great as has been our experience in the past.
The food is pretty good. Maybe a tad pricey but you’re paying for the ambiance and the view of the beach from the second floor. I’d definitely come back though.
Live this place for brunch. Bloody Mary bar is amazing and the food is incredible. Chantal our waitress was the best!
Always a delightful experience with Cindy and the food is amazing
First, the view of Delray Beach was outstanding! Second, the Sunday Brunch was delicious - lots of choices! Third, our waiter was so attentive and always smiling! Fourth, the ambience was great. Lastly, Valet parking made it very convenient and we even had time to take a quick walk on the beach. We will definitely be back, especially with visiting guests!!
Lunch with a breeze and ocean view, how can you go wrong? The colossal coconut shrimp appetizer was fabulous, should be offered as a main course. The Cesar salad was average as also stated by a friend, hers was with chicken, mine was plain. The mojito hit the spot. Would return to try other items on the menu. The big bonus is that they have valet parking.
Cindy was a most delightful waitress. She has been happily engaging patrons for 20 years.
The view of the ocean is the best! You feel very serene.
The food was delicious and the deserts are a must try.
The views were beautiful, overlooking the Atlantic. The service was wonderful, attentive and the bottomless mimosas were flowing. I had the thyme blueberry pancakes with bacon and everything was delicious.
It's a really nice location with a great view and the food was good but a bit overpriced and the service on the day that we ate was extremely slow. But I would go back.
This restaurant has an amazing menu with incredible food. The service is amazing and our server Nick went above and beyond. On top of all of this the view of the ocean made the whole experience incredible
This is my new favorite spot for brunch. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the view of the ocean is spectacular. The menu have a little bit of everything and everything I’ve tried has been delish. Bottomless Mimosas...need I say more? The service is also great. Highly recommend it!
great place! great service but had a long wait even though we had reservations!
We had an excellent experience at 50 Ocean. The ambiance was perfect for a romantic dinner with a great view of the ocean, perfect lighting, and just the right amount of energy allowing for good conversation.
Best view in town, outdoor seating a huge plus on what was a beautiful breezy day, very good food and options even for everyone, even a vegan. Great value!
Always great food. The grouper was spectacular.
Bench seats are very uncomfortable and terrible choice for party of two. Cushions sagging, seat back too far from table. Waiter was efficient to the point of walking away from us in mid sentence and forgot a couple of our requests.
Don't let the 1st floor fool you: I told the hostess (not that friendly) that we had reservations, she didn't ask where, and sat us at the very casual bar. Something didn't seem right, so I asked her if there was another part of the restaurant upstairs, she said yes. What a difference! Beautiful ocean view, the host was in a suit, nice ambience, friendly and courteous service by servers, and host. Delicious food wit nice sized-portions. They brought a cupcake, with whipped cream dusted in gold powder with a candle for my mom's 78th birthday. Loved it :)
Beautiful view, excellent service ... ask for Matt !!!
Only held back a star because the food took so long to come out for some kitchen issue and they should have offered us a complimentary coffee -
Our hostess, Cyndy, was extremely friendly and very helpful during our meal. She actually made our meal even better, though the food was fantastic. The view of the ocean was also phenomenal. This place is a bit pricey ($150 for 2), but we have already and will continue to return to this fine restaurant each time we visit the area.
